Fantastic day exploring Chichen Itza!
We had the most amazing day exploring Chichen Itza with The Custom Tour and Kat as our guide. Kat was exceptionally knowledgeable and was a fantastic guide providing us a wealth of knowledge as we explored Chichen Itza. We also had a fantastic lunch at a wonderful local restaurant that was part of our excursion. I would highly recommended this tour! Thank You Customer Tour for a most memorable day!

Absolutely Outstanding – The Best Private Tour Experience in Riviera Maya
We booked two fully customized tours with Private Tours by The Custom Tour Riviera Maya for our group of five, and from start to finish, the entire experience was absolutely outstanding. This is hands down one of the best tour companies we have ever used.Before we even made the booking, Rod Ratner, who owns the business, patiently walked us through every detail. We had several questions because both tours needed to be tailored to our specific needs. Rod was incredibly helpful, thorough, and reassuring — he clarified logistics, timing, possibilities, and limitations with total clarity. By the time we confirmed, we felt completely comfortable and confident.Any remaining doubts disappeared the moment we met our guide Kat and our driver Gilberto at the start of the first tour. Their professionalism and warmth set the tone for the entire experience.Kat is phenomenal — friendly, knowledgeable, easygoing, and completely on top of every logistical detail. Gilberto is equally impressive — calm, courteous, and an excellent driver, with a spotless and extremely comfortable vehicle (essential for long drives). A beautifully arranged snack basket was waiting for us in the car, a thoughtful touch we truly appreciated.One of the biggest highlights was how seamlessly Kat managed our entire schedule. We had told her the time we needed to be at Suytun for the photoshoot, and from there, she took complete control. She kept an eye on the clock, nudged us gently at Chichén Itzá when we needed to move, fit in a quick snack stop in Valladolid, and still got us to Suytun exactly on time. We didn’t have to worry about a single thing — she handled everything flawlessly.We had a private photoshoot at Cenote Suytun, which required Kat and Gilberto to wait for us in the dark for quite a while. We felt bad making them wait, but they did so with a smile and zero hesitation — again, absolute top-tier service.Kat also very sweetly helped take photographs for us during both tours. She captured great moments throughout the day, which was something we truly appreciated.Our second tour was to explore two cenotes, and having Kat and Gilberto with us again felt incredibly reassuring. What we didn’t expect was that Kat would personally swim with us in both cenotes. Her presence in the water made a world of difference — she ensured every one of us was comfortable, confident, and safe. Honestly, I don’t think we would have managed to swim in those cenotes without her help.In every aspect — planning, comfort, logistics, safety, hospitality, photography, and expert guidance — their service was truly 5-star from beginning to end. Once we were with Kat and Gilberto, we knew we were in good hands and that everything would be taken care of.If you’re considering private tours in the Riviera Maya, look no further. Highly recommend The Custom Tour. Perfect excursion for the family. Picked up at our hotel by a private shuttle, just for our group. Visited the Ek Balam archeological site, a beautiful cenote for swimming an authentic Mayan lunch and shopping in the historical town of Valladolid, and all at our own pace. No group to keep up with, no other hotels to stop at, just our family together. Kat, our tour guide and Gilberto, our driver were terrific! This tour was perfect!

Great experience for the whole family, 8 of us went ages 17 to 75, this tour had something for everyone. Ek Balam ruins were incredible, swimming in a beautiful cenote, authentic Mayan cuisine and culture, a great day spent in Mexico. Kat our personal tour guide and Gilberto our driver were amazing. Highly recommend this whole experience!

My family of five had a fantastic day visiting Chichén Itzá, the Saamal cenotes and Valladolid! I had concerns about booking a trip not through my resort but never ever felt unsafe. The owner Rod helped soothe my worries ahead of time with his quick responses and words through email. We were met the morning of our trip in a new clean passenger van by our driver Gilberto and our guide Kat. My wife and I both agreed that taking the private tour was well worth the small upgrade in cost rather than having to pick up other passengers at other resorts and having the personalized guide who solely focused on us. Gilberto was always patiently waiting for us whenever we were ready to leave to the next stop of our tour. We were never rushed or made felt like it was time to leave, I honestly think we could have spent another hour or two doing whatever we wanted to at each stop and it would have been okay by our guide and driver. It was truly at our pace and they were just there to make it as enjoyable as possible. Kat was full of knowledge and obviously loves the Mayan culture! The authentic Mexican lunch buffet was very good. My kids are picky eaters and they all seemed to find good portions of things to eat. I sampled about everything and enjoyed it all. This tour was the highlight of our trip and if I was to comeback to the area The Custom Tour would be my first choice for any excursion I was to sign up for. We took a cenotes tour through Amstar/Cancun Adventures and it was very good as well, but I like the fact that it was just our family on this tour and again no picking up or dropping off other passengers and the one on one guide with personalized attention. Highly recommendable excursion!

We had an amazing day with Kat, so many personal touches to this tour. This is not your average tourist company. Every step of the way there was a feeling of customer service that was truly above and beyond. We had a large group with kids ages 4-12, the kids were active and excited all day. Such an amazing day with Cat. Visiting and learning so much about the Tulum ruins. Then visited the cenote, and then swimming with the sea turtles where we saw many turtles.

The Tulum Delux excursion was amazing! It was perfect for everyone in the family including our kids ages 4,6,8. Cat was the absolute best guide, great with the kids, taking pictures and very knowledgeable about all the stops.

Limbert was so incredible - knowledgeable, smart, personable, and accommodating. The tour surpassed all expectations and left us with such good memories. I’d recommend Limbert as the guide for anyone I really care about. He’s got an extensive set of history knowledge and he makes it fun to learn about.
