I made a mistake in my 20's, as many of us do, and didn't take care of a reckless driving ticket roughly 20 years ago. I honestly forgot about it after I moved out of CA. I was attempting to get a Passport when I realized there was a warrant out for my arrest from the incident.

In 2019 I was referred to Mr. Sullivan by my past attorney because he felt Shawn would be a better fit for me because I possibly was going to trial. I was nervous at first because I was looking at a lot of time and I trusted my previous attorney. Well I can tell you first hand it was the best decision I made. Shaun will literally fight for your freedom like no attorney I have seen. He actually cares about you! If you have dealt with attorneys before you cannot trust all of them! February 2015 a person I care deeply had a first, and only hopefully, encounter with the full force of our legal system. Was arrested, taken into custody, and presented with a dramatic list of charges. A public defender was offered by the Court, most likely very capable and undoubtedly an ABA member. But why take any risks with something as important as freedom is at risk. Luckily a lawyer friend of mine referred me to one of his colleagues Esq. Shaun A. Sullivan. Mr. Sullivan was hired and from that point on he along every step of the way. The prosecutors did tried their best, I am sure it certainly felt that way. Court date after court date Sullivan hit the ball out of the park, every time. At the end all charges were dismissed, making the occasion a very memorable day. This is my statement, and this is my recommendation; If you about to face the full force of the U.S. legal system do yourself a favor and hire Sullivan.
I give one star to Atty. Shaun A. Sullivan. If I could, I would give him 0 stars. He was assigned to my son's case after a female Public Defender told my son that she would request a continuance until she got what she wanted. " A guilty plea".
A county conflict of interest panel assigned Mr. Sullivan to my son's case. Although, Attorney Sullivan didn't say that he would ask for a continuance until my son changed his plea,, the case was always continued. Four and a half years passed by and nothing was done. A motion was never filed, objections were never made. He didn't object when DDA wanted to have me as a "People's Witness Control " .
Attorney Sullivan never replied to my emails.
I was told he wasn't my attorney. I was his client's mother. I sent copies of documents that I thought would help him to defend my son. He tried to use that information against his client, my son. He even recorded my son and I when my son had an appointment at his office. He wasn't at his office for almost an hour when we arrived. My son and I started talking about different things. I told my son I trusted his attorney in the beginning but I wouldn't trust my own shadow anymore.
When he came into his office he didn't apologize for being late but he said to me: Let's talk about trust. And he said things that made me think my son and I were being recorded. Maybe, a hidden camera, a bug somewhere in the office. He's very unprofessional and unethical.
The documents I sent him about the false arrest, and all the wrong doing against my son, he said it was irrelevant to the case. He didn't hand over those copies to the current defense attorney. Those documents compromise the Probate attorney who has lied in Probate Court and on legal documents stating untrue events or statements. She had her friends' help. They cover up for each other . They want to hide the corruption.
Attorney Sullivan called in sick or he had a family emergency a lot of times, and another attorney would take his place to request a continuance for him.
Attorney Sullivan always approached the bench and talked to the judge before court was in session. In other words, "off the record". Mr. Sullivan didn't want me to hear what he was telling or asking the judge.
It was last year, the last day I saw Attorney Sullivan in court, and he said: This a very difficult case, and that he never had a case like this one. He should have said that when he took the case in 2019. My son's life and mine are on hold. We can't go on with our lives

Sometimes there are some bumps in the road of life. In my case the bumps were more like meteor impact craters. I was in a very depressing hopeless situation but after speaking with Shaun I was able to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Once I hired him and went to court I realized that I had made the right decision. He is very very good at what he does and is definitely amongst the best of any attorney's there are, his father was the hi standard of criminal defense attorneys in California and Shaun is of the same caliber.
