One of the best fish restaurants in Crete
Thalami is a superb fish restaurant. My wife and I ate here 4-5 time during our holiday in the area and every time was a great experience. The seafood is so fresh and their house white wine is one of the best I have ever drunk in Crete. The taramasalata is unbelievable and nothing like anything you can buy in the UK. Giannis and the staff are very friendly and helpful and work so hard and professionally to make dining there an enjoyable experience. Long may they flourish!
A nice seaside taverna with a pleasant atmosphere and a great location right by the water. The place is comfortable and has a relaxed vibe, and the food was good — fresh and enjoyable, though not particularly special. Service could have been better at times and felt a bit inconsistent, which took away slightly from the overall experience. Still, it’s a decent place to have a meal by the sea, just not one that stands out compared to other tavernas in Greece.

Amazing fish super laid on by Yannis and team
Yannis and team were amazing and looked after us brilliantly. The food was amazing, we had fabulous fish ( tuna, bream and a mixed grill). The wine we had with dinner was also amazing and made the whole evening for all 7 of us. Thank you Yannis!
We was disappointed after reading positive reviews. We had the shared fish platter, the mussels, prawns & fried potatoes were very nice but the rest was just deep fried, rubbery and lacked any flavour. Staff lacked a smile. No background music. We eat all over Crete as we live here but we was very disappointed. We accepted it for an average meal but when we was paying by card, we left a cash 10% tip which they took and didn't even acknowledge. Personally, we won't return.

Great view great food
We tried a few places in Almyrida and this was our favourite. Seafood was fresh and delicious. Swordfish considered excellent, shrimp in tomato with feta likewise tasty and seafood pasta received a big thumbs up. The house wine is very drinkable. Overall a strong recommendation. Booking advised especially if you want a table next to the sea - a really attractive view. Service good.
Honestly, the best Greek food in Crete! The dishes are not only delicious but also beautifully presented. My highlights include the taramasalata, thalami salad, tuna pasta, and grilled grouper.
The service is exceptional; Yanis makes you feel like you’re a long-lost friend. I highly recommend visiting to try the food and enjoy the stunning view!

Never fails!
Over 10 days we ate here twice and enjoyed the Sea Bream, Taramasolata (not the pink shop bought stuff) the original homemade stuff!!! Courgette Balls and Tzatziki. Service with Yanni is always good, no fuss, no frills but exact professional service. We have eaten here twice each time we have visited Almyrida since 2017 and never had a poor meal here. A metronome of excellent food. We did notice this year that the house wine was a step up on previous offerings. See you next year.
