We had a tiling job and garden weed clearing/plant pruning done. Tiling stuff was ok, some of the tiles started moving in 2 day’s time but they fixed it. Will have to wait and see how long it stays in place. Garden job was a disaster. Instead of removing the excessive growth from the roots, they just cut stuff down at the ground level so no one can see it. Overall not happy with the job despite the extortionate charges. They cut too many corners and required constant supervision, which is what you wouldn’t expect when you pay 2x the nominal fee.
[Response to Luke] hey- I appreciate your response. This is a joint review, so no point naming people or quotes. I appreciate that you guys tried to fix it post flagging concerns, but the garden job was just not up to the mark. Also appreciate the new tiles, but we didn’t request for it, I was very specific that we wanted to keep old tiles and we were also ready to pay when we got to know they were new. Reg the gardener - they didn’t even spend an entire day (as per pro rata) but trimming the jasmine stuff was a part of what was what was discussed. We can keep discussing it in a public forum but it is also worth reflecting on the feedback and see what can be done better next time.

Dear Shyamili,
Thank you for your review, and for your praise regarding the paving, which was 85% of the overall works. Instead of pressure washing the cement scarring off from your original slabs, which was not possible due to your water pressure (and we didn’t want to leave you without water as Rangit suggested), we provided you with brand new paving slabs (10m² in total) which was at no extra cost.
The slabs which moved were due to a heavy pot being placed on the corner of the joint, due to the temperature at this time of year, you will need to let the cement and slurry set hard, prior to placing heavy objects on them.
Regarding the maintenance works, please see the quote items below and highlight where we were obliged to excavate any roots or greenery?
‘Labour supplied for a 1 person team per day. This is a pro rata item and the client will
only be charged for the total days required on site.
The installation of 10 linear metres of galvanised wire, this includes barrel strainers and vine eyes.
The installation of 14 meters square of weed membrane.
The labour to install of approximately 1m³ bulk bag of Bark Chips Softwood. Client is supplying Bark Chips.’
Furthermore, we actually carried out additional trimming works for yourself and Ranjit, which weren’t not in the quote however, you seem to have omitted that from your review.
At Terra Firma Landscapes, our internal motto is “we are only as effective as our last job”. What that means is that if a single client of ours isn’t 100% satisfied, we will strive to rectify this. When I spoke to Rangit on the phone before my team left site, he was very happy and requested the final invoice. Really happy with Luke, Marco and the teams hard work. We needed some mature hedges planted at our new home, so we could improve the privacy in our garden. They’ve planted these and down a really great job. They also moved some of our existing plants, removed some tree stumps (that previous tree surgeons / landscapers had left) and arranged for our shed to be scrapped. Marco’s knowledge of all things flora was a very helpful. I’d 100% recommend these guys.

Great communication with Luke before the work was carried out. We had to delay the start date and Luke was kindly able to fit us in at a more convenient time.
The work carried out by another Luke and Harry was very professional and finished on schedule. They were polite and very considerate of us having a small baby at the time. They worked through the weekend which was fine by us as it meant the work was completed quicker but I would have liked to be asked before the day they started the work, just so I could have planned around it better. But that is only a minor negative.

Right from the start when Josh from Terra Firma came to give us a quote for a replacement fence, they have been great to deal with. They gave a detailed quote, with different options, and were competitive compared to five other quotes.
They were flexible on start times to fit in with our needs. George and Lee worked hard over four days in sometimes awful weather, including thunder storms, and didn't falter when unexpected things came their way, like huge ivy roots. They helped our neighbours to cut down some of their overgrown ivy roots. The garden is on a slope with a wood at the rear. They had to adapt the fence to allow for the different levels. Both we and our neighbours are really pleased with the end result.
George and Lee very kindly offered to lug our own large bags of garden waste through my house so we can add it to our garden waste collection bin at the front. They did us a huge favour and chopped down a very overgrown holly (a small tree). Highly recommend and will definitely use again for any garden design/maintenance.

We could not be happier with our wall (and back garden fence too). The Terra Firma guys building it were so good at their job, were happy to discuss the work, advise and make changes. They also could not have been more thoughtful when walking through the house – always laying dust sheets or taking their boots off, and taking care not to let the cats out, or the cold in. Neighbours have admired the wall too, and asked us for details of the company. A perfect job!

Great quote process, very professionally presented. The work to replace my garden rear gate and fence was excellent, and Luke & Harry Reynolds who did the work were efficient, friendly and professional and did a great job. The olny problem was the order for the fence panel was wrong and they had to come back again to install the right panel.

Replacing rear garden fence and gates (SE1)
Very professional quote service, and I paid the estimated amount. Good quality materials and excellent workmanship by brothers Harry and Luke Reynolds, who were efficient and friendly. The only issue was a fence panel was wrongly ordered and they had to come back to complete the work.
