Terra Firma went out of their way to help us out on some urgent landscaping work at very short notice. They were great to communicate with and the guys who carried out the work were very polite, tidy, respectful and efficient. I would highly recommend them to anyone needing landscaping works done - we will certainly use them again.
Luke and Lee plus team did a very professional job on our front and back gardens, replacing patios and imposing order on an unruly space. They were friendly and efficient, taking great care to ensure we were going to be happy with the end result, offering thoughtful and helpful advice throughout. We have used Terra Firma twice now for fencing, and each time they have done a stellar job. We now have two beautiful and very solid new fences. Terra Firma Landscapes under the hands-on direction of Luke Richards, its founder, is exemplary in their focus driven approach to transforming the stalest of gardens into a thing of welcome and beauty.
We recently needed to fill in a small disused pond, replace a tired old-fashioned fence and a pergola that had seen better days. As a couple of a certain age, we could not visualise what transformation might look like and felt both uncertain and frustrated. Enter Luke Richards, the most charming, likeable, empathetic and altruistic of people who clearly has the uncanny knack for reading people and situations quickly and communicating with warmth and respect.
Luke took charge, produced with speed a design and plan within our budget which we immediately accepted. The teams he sent: Ryan & Jack on tree surgery, George & Egzon on pond conversion, and Sam & Danny on fence and pergola installation are all a credit to Luke and the company he has created. They were efficient, good natured, tidy, perfectionists with a positive attitude. Luke has even offered, out of contract, to pop in to begin retraining my wisteria on the pergola.

From start to finish excellent to deal with. Great communication throughout. They did exactly what was agreed, on time and for the quoted price. Returned to site quickly to sort out a couple of small snagging issues before requesting final payment. The whole experience of working with Adam and the team has been an absolute pleasure from start to finish. From Adam's first visit, he really understood our 'vision' - better than we did ourselves as it turns out! Communication has been exceptional, we had some fairly unique requirements to incorporate for our much loved pet cat and my daughter's netball obsession. Adam really understood that the garden needed to be beautiful but also functional and made some brilliant suggestions we wouldn't have thought of. The project ran seamlessly from start to finish and the team on site were incredibly skilled but also polite, professional and worked incredibly hard. It was a fairly lengthy project of around 6 weeks, but completely stress free, delivered on time and on budget. The garden is stunning and we couldn't be more pleased!

Excellent work - great communication. Luke and Harry were here every day for a week and did a superb job with fencing and oak planters. All debris removed. Would recommend!
We had a tiling job and garden weed clearing/plant pruning done. Tiling stuff was ok, some of the tiles started moving in 2 day’s time but they fixed it. Will have to wait and see how long it stays in place. Garden job was a disaster. Instead of removing the excessive growth from the roots, they just cut stuff down at the ground level so no one can see it. Overall not happy with the job despite the extortionate charges. They cut too many corners and required constant supervision, which is what you wouldn’t expect when you pay 2x the nominal fee.
[Response to Luke] hey- I appreciate your response. This is a joint review, so no point naming people or quotes. I appreciate that you guys tried to fix it post flagging concerns, but the garden job was just not up to the mark. Also appreciate the new tiles, but we didn’t request for it, I was very specific that we wanted to keep old tiles and we were also ready to pay when we got to know they were new. Reg the gardener - they didn’t even spend an entire day (as per pro rata) but trimming the jasmine stuff was a part of what was what was discussed. We can keep discussing it in a public forum but it is also worth reflecting on the feedback and see what can be done better next time.
Thank you for your review, and for your praise regarding the paving, which was 85% of the overall works. Instead of pressure washing the cement scarring off from your original slabs, which was not possible due to your water pressure (and we didn’t want to leave you without water as Rangit suggested), we provided you with brand new paving slabs (10m² in total) which was at no extra cost.
The slabs which moved were due to a heavy pot being placed on the corner of the joint, due to the temperature at this time of year, you will need to let the cement and slurry set hard, prior to placing heavy objects on them.
Regarding the maintenance works, please see the quote items below and highlight where we were obliged to excavate any roots or greenery?
‘Labour supplied for a 1 person team per day. This is a pro rata item and the client will
only be charged for the total days required on site.
The installation of 10 linear metres of galvanised wire, this includes barrel strainers and vine eyes.
The installation of 14 meters square of weed membrane.
The labour to install of approximately 1m³ bulk bag of Bark Chips Softwood. Client is supplying Bark Chips.’
Furthermore, we actually carried out additional trimming works for yourself and Ranjit, which weren’t not in the quote however, you seem to have omitted that from your review.
At Terra Firma Landscapes, our internal motto is “we are only as effective as our last job”. What that means is that if a single client of ours isn’t 100% satisfied, we will strive to rectify this. When I spoke to Rangit on the phone before my team left site, he was very happy and requested the final invoice.
