Update to Feedback: The reason Apple won't cover the laptop under warranty is beauce its had severe water damage, nothing do with missing parts. Its a 2025 macbook, anyone that works in tech or will be aware everything is soldered on the motherboard, with ram, the drive. so I don't know what parts we swapped out lol, also we why would we scrap the serial number?? We wish we had a stack of 2025 £1500 odd laptops lying around that we woudl be stupid enough to swap a water damaged motherboard with another water damaged motherboard and then scratch the serial number to hide our crimes?? Lol you cant even make it up ;-) It's a shame a customer we tried to help and spent many hours of labour helping free of charge, decice to smear our name with dishonest accusations. Oh well what goes around come around. Original Feedback: The customer brought in a MacBook with severe water damage. We told her we'd investigate it and get back to her by the end of the day, which we did. After assessing it, we explained that the damage was extensive, we we’d try and see if we could repair the water damage and explained the process could potentially taking up to a week. As anyone who’s dealt with water damage knows, these repairs take time. We kept her updated throughout. At the end of the week, we discovered that the CPU was shorted and beyond repair. Despite the days we spent working on it, we didn’t charge her a single penny. Unfortunately, she didn’t show much gratitude, her main concern was that the back lid wasn’t fully aligned, which we explained could be fixed if she brought it back in. When we received the MacBook, it was leaking liquid as soon as we opened it so it wasn’t in the best condition to begin with. As for options, I’m not sure what else we could’ve done. She dropped it off for us to try and fix, and we did our best. Once it was clear the damage was irreversible, we informed her and asked her to collect it. We feel we handled the situation with care and transparency, but it seems like there was no way to satisfy her regardless of our efforts.
