I had an urgent matter that was time-sensitive, spoke to Telmo and sent my information as instructed. I was ambivalent because within the span of the call, I was first quoted more than 2x what other accountant quoted and when I mentioned it, Telmo then decreased the price by 50%. I wasn’t haggling rather genuinely trying to understand why the pricing was so high. It felt like a money-grab, but because of the urgency, I sent my initial information to Telmo and I was ghosted. I called multiple times over the next week. Deeply unprofessional experience. I would not recommend anyone risk the possibility of going through that and especially expats who are new to navigating the Portuguese tax system. Thankfully I found a highly recommended accountant elsewhere

I had a difficult and extensive tax situation to handle and was searching for a tax advisor where I had no need to go to Lisbon several times or have constant meetings and calls, since my free time is very limited. Already 2 hours after reaching out over a chat function ( on a Sunday! ), Telmo answered me very friendly and professional and wanted to gather more information about the issue and already a few days later he presented me a draft of an invoice about the discussed amount and was ready to do his magic. Telmo and Carol were constantly working on my case I had the impression since they provided me permanent feedback and also I could see the first results very soon. After not even 2 months the majority of my requests were handled with a positive outcome. During this time I always had the feeling that both of them were eager to answer my questions and to find the best and not the fastest resolution if necessary. One process is still ongoing and I can see, that they are working hard on resolving this as well for good and never give up, just because it would be convinient. And the best thing, we handled everything via Email, I never had to worry about extensive meetings and calls and every contact was happening with utmost friendly politeness and professionalism. If you need a tax advisor company where you have to give minimum effort but get maximum outcome, Telmo and TAXBORDR is the right one for you! My highest appreciation to Telmo and Carol and I am looking forward to the last task finished 😊

We reached out to Telmo for assistance in obtaining acceptance for the NHR tax regime for both of us. Telmo and his colleague Carol took care of not only submitting the two NHR applications, but also prerequisite items like removing a prior fiscal representation entity, and getting the tax authority to update our fiscal address. They accomplished all of these things promptly, and kept us informed at each step. We were impressed with the professionalism and thoroughness they both brought to their work. They also explain topics well and are kind people. We highly recommend working with Telmo and his team, and look forward to using their services again.
