Our company required a report from a charted structural engineer to get the final approval from the landlords to install a mezzanine in our warehouse. Time was critical as the build was due a few days later (nothing like a last minute request from the landlords to throw a spanner in the works!).
I contacted Derek and he was super helpful and reassuring. He understood the urgency and managed to prioritize our requirement and had the site visit and report done within 24hours. His knowledge and experience is second to none, and I know if we need assistance in the future we will be contacting SSA again.
Without this flexibility the project would have cost us many more ££££'s in delays.

I had some unexpected concerns with the integrity of my roof space and structure after recent works with a builder and was looking for professional advice.

Derek and team have been excellent on my project, would definitely use them again and be happy to recommend to anyone. I don't have much experience with buildings engineering but I don't think my work was terribly complicated in the grand scheme of things other than working out what's going on with my ageing house. Derek was able and willing to explain things to me in terms I could understand and relay to the contractors on site, obviously also providing all the necessary detail and technical descriptions and drawings as well. Perhaps the most impressive thing about working with SSA has been their speed and flexibility in responding to decisions and change. In particular, the contractor made a change to a steel post that was dealt with very efficiently, and Derek has also helped me with giving all the relevant information to building control and dealing with their queries in a way that led to a swift and satisfactory result. We were recommended SSA by our architect to develop plans for a complete renovation of a terraced Victorian Cottage. The combination of age of the property, its small size and boldness of design created a number of challenges. We found the whole SSA team to be excellent partners in this project. Unfailingly helpful, highly professional, responsive, always willing to answer questions and concerns, and thoughtful in finding appropriate solutions. A really fantastic team of structural Engineers. We used them for a kitchen extension and they were superb throughout.
During design stage they were very patient with our questions and took very seriously what is probably a very simple job. They supported us with re-draw and re-design to keep Thames Water happy when it came to pipe access and, once work started were incredibly responsive, even managing a same day site visit to propose a quick, simple solution to a Building Control challenge. That speed has saved us days on inactivity onsite already.

We have been so impressed with SSA - both Matt and Christian were very knowledgeable and professional on their recent site visit regarding our upcoming renovation.
