This is the go to place for regular live music, open mic and quizz nights with good selection of quality draft beers, bottles and wines. Consciencious hard-working staff keep everything running smoothly even on the busiest nights. Small beer garden at rear with view of the minster.
Had a fantastic Sunday afternoon and dinner. Super tasty food, wonderful ambience, excellent live music and warm friendly service.
Great honest, simple food. Lovely sausage and mash and steak looked cooked well. Chips were delicious. Service very quick and waitresses kind and helpful. Pity this pub is too far for us for a regular meal out, on way back from Wilberfoss so thought we’d drop in on way back for tea. Thanks again for a great time.
Great pub with a good selection of beers, the atmosphere is brilliant and the entertainment is the best in town. Unfortunately the toilets are pretty grim and are the only downside
We went in as a family group during a quiet Tuesday lunchtime to have a drink. The barmaid was really nice and the two pints that the adults had were really good. The pub is really old with fantastic stone flooring and you can feel the history of the place.
Popped in a couple of times for an afternoon pint. Very friendly staff. Made to feel very welcome, and gave us some great advice for dog walks and local activities. Live music is their thing. If you want a dog friendly pint during the day, and a live music venue at weekends then this is you. We will be back!
