Gorgeous cosy pub. Victor was so friendly, always making sure we were okay for drinks! We had such a lovely evening here, beautiful pint of Guinness!!

Amazing roast, excellent service! The pork roast with all the trimmings, including delicious Yorkshire pudding and outstanding gravy is one of the best roasts in Dublin (and we've tried many). Highly recommend! Gerry, our waiter, looks after you so well. Thank you all for making our family Sundays so enjoyable. Compliments to the chef! Doing a great job!!

Been here a few times and it's always been a good spot, but they seem to have changed their menu recently and the food is fabulous! Highly recommend the chicken bechamel croquettes in particular! Hats off to the chef, and the staff were very friendly and professional too. Special thanks to Dave this evening.

We recently visited the Strand House, food was great! Service was OK our waiter wasn't the most pleasant he actually made us feel a bit uncomfortable and unwelcomed, after dinner we sat at the bar the girl with glasses made our experience much better, will be back again. But the waiter needs to be more welcoming.
Good place, nice staff and service. I fully recommend them to anyone looking for a great place for food l, and a few drinks.

We had our Dad's 70th in the space upstairs. All of the guests commented on how good the platters were. The space itself was comfortable and the atmosphere was welcoming. Dave helped us out with setting up a playlist and a slide show on the screen and everything else in between! A great spot to consider for a party venue! Our dad had a brilliant night!

I came here on Tuesday and was absolutely delighted — the drinks, the food, and the staff were so lovely that I came back today with my partner! Even without a reservation, they found us a table and treated us so well again. We ordered a nice bottle of wine, and the food was just amazing!!! Huge thanks to Emily — such a lovely girl, she took such great care of us! They truly deserve a thousand stars! 💫

I rarely write Google reviews, but I feel compelled to share my experience from last night. My husband and I have visited this pub before, as we previously lived nearby and wanted to give it a try. On that occasion, the visit wasn’t anything to write home about but, acceptable. However, last night was a very different experience.
After attending the NFL game in Dublin, and given the pub’s proximity to Croke Park, we decided to stop in for a pint and some food. We were promptly seated, and our orders were taken. I quickly noticed that the menu had changed since our last visit, nearly halved, in fact, which left the vegetarian options extremely limited. As a result, I was unable to order a meal, as there was nothing suitable beyond chips as the one vegetarian option I had an allergy to. While I understand that menu choices are up to the establishment, it is worth noting the lack of vegetarian-friendly options. My husband did order food, and we both had drinks without issue.
Since it was after the NFL game, and with many other fans in the establishment, I thought it might be possible to watch NFL RedZone. At the time, an Arsenal match was on, which was completely fair, and I had no issue with that. With about five minutes left in the football match, I asked a member of staff if it would be possible to switch one of the TVs afterward. The waiter suggested I speak with the manager (or owner), described as the bald gentleman in a button-down shirt mentioned in other reviews.
When I approached him, the exchange was as follows:
Me: “Hi, sorry, is it possible to put NFL RedZone on the TV in the back…”
Him: “No.” (Delivered abruptly, as though my question was offensive.)
Me: “You didn’t let me finish — I mean after the football match. Is it not possible? I assume you have RedZone since you have the sports package.”
Him: “No. I’m turning all the TVs to golf.” (Again, curt and dismissive.)
I fully understand the Ryder Cup was on, but this was one TV in an area largely filled with fans who had just come from the NFL game. His tone was unnecessarily rude and dismissive, and I walked away feeling uncomfortable.
I returned to my husband, who finished his meal, and we left promptly. It left me wondering whether my American accent influenced his reaction, despite my having lived here for over seven years. I strongly suspect my Irish husband would not have been treated in the same manner.
We had intended to spend several hours there, watching the NFL with other fans, ordering more drinks and food. That custom was lost due to the manager’s attitude.
Overall, the food is average at best (my impression from our first visit, and my husband’s from both visits), and the service is marred by what I can only describe as the manager’s rudeness…both towards customers and, from what I observed, towards staff.
I know this review is long, but I would strongly advise avoiding this establishment if you are looking for a pleasant night out. Many other reviews reflect similar experiences, so I would encourage anyone to consider those as well.
