Stonework Landscape Inc. did a fantastic job on our home in Leaside! They regraded our front lawn to fix water buildup at the house, laid new sod, and built a beautiful walkway matching our original front step, all with minimal disruption to our neighbors. Jimmy came by one evening, gave us helpful recommendations (with a few laughs along the way), and a quote, and even fit us in sooner than expected thanks to a cancellation. Peter, Shawn, and Tommy worked incredibly quickly, and they left us with clear care instructions for the new sod. The whole team was efficient, knowledgeable, and friendly. The work is clean, they’re respectful, and we’d hire them again in a heartbeat. Thank you Jimmy, Peter, Shawn, and Tommy!

No stress. Sky-high standards. Knowledgeable. Kind. On time. On budget. : ) After a 12-month home renovation, our backyard was a disaster. It had spent a year as storage for everything from garage contents to construction materials, and what had once been a lawn was now little more than bumpy, uneven dirt and weeds. We had expected to do some reseeding after the renovation — we hadn't expected to have to completely rebuild our yard. After everything we'd already been through with the renovation, the thought of tackling one more big project felt overwhelming. Then Jimmy came by. Within about 30 minutes, we had a plan — and, just as importantly, we felt completely at ease. Jimmy really listened to what we wanted: something with a more cottage/English-garden feel rather than modern and sleek. When it came time to choose pavers for a new path, there were so many possibilities that it could easily have become another overwhelming decision. Instead, Jimmy quickly helped us narrow the choices to something that was exactly right for our home — beautiful, great quality and at a great price. After a very long and stressful renovation, we can't overstate how grateful we were to work with someone who simply made things easy. And then his team arrived. The entire transformation took only a day and a half, and we were blown away by the professionalism, craftsmanship and attention to detail at every step. The team worked together like a well-oiled machine. Everything happened faster than we expected, but nothing ever felt rushed. Quite the opposite — every part of the job was done with incredible precision and care. What impressed us most was how hands-on that care was. The work was all done by hand – every single step. The soil was raked gently and leveled with care, by hand. The sod had been carefully selected and freshly cut the morning it arrived, and was beautifully green and dewy. The new path was laid meticulously, and in one particularly narrow section, they created a tiny border literally tiny stone by tiny stone by hand. These were details we never would have thought to ask for — they simply cared enough to do them properly. That same attention extended well beyond the yard itself. Without us saying a word, the team cleaned continuously as they worked — sweeping the street, sidewalk, the lane between our houses, the backyard path, everything. By the time they left, it was spotless — probably cleaner than when they arrived! It was honestly incredible to watch a team who clearly takes enormous pride in what they do transform our yard with a level of care and precision that exceeded every expectation. And the best part is that the finished yard is even better than we imagined it could be. Jimmy and his team took something that felt daunting and made the entire experience easy from beginning to end. The quality of their work is exceptional, but so are the people doing it. We hired Stoneworks Landscaping to install a French drain, and we couldn’t be happier with the results. Since protecting our newly built home by directing water away from the foundation was extremely important to us, we contacted several contractors to compare their methods and pricing. None of them gave us the confidence we were looking for until we spoke with Jimmy from Stoneworks. From our very first conversation, Jimmy impressed us with his technical knowledge and professionalism. His quote was very reasonable, especially considering the quality of the materials and the drainage solution he proposed. We were so confident in his team that we immediately placed a deposit to secure the project, and we’re very glad we did. The crew arrived early and worked efficiently throughout the day. We especially appreciated that they chose to dig by hand instead of using heavy machinery to avoid damaging our walkway. Their workmanship was meticulous, and every step of the installation was completed with great care and precision. The cleanup was just as impressive as the installation. All the soil was removed, the grass and interlocking bricks were carefully restored, and the entire work area was left spotless. Our front yard, which previously had several exposed sump pump discharge pipes, now looks much cleaner and more organized. We also love the brickwork they completed, which not only looks fantastic but also helps direct water safely away from our house. We only wish we had found Stoneworks Landscaping sooner. Without hesitation, we would have trusted them with all of our landscaping projects. We highly recommend Jimmy and his team to anyone looking for skilled, honest, and professional landscaping services.

Hi May. Thank you for the thorough and thoughtful review. Me and our team are really happy when the clients are happy. Your project was a small one that eliminated a larger issue. Today’s sump pump systems work so effectively that they release water around your foundation every 8-10 minutes. By discharging the water into our Aco Stormbrixx French drain system, you will never see the water running through the surface of your front of property. I hope this will bring some ease to your life. Past clients with similar issues have all reported to me that they had stress constantly seeing the water discharging. We have completed about 40 of these systems throughout the years. All of them have been a success.
I would also like to thank Paul for his input during our installation. He was very helpful.

We recently completed a full backyard renovation with Stoneworks Landscape, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them. Our project wasn’t straightforward. Access to the backyard is very narrow (no access for machinery), the yard has a significant slope, and the work included a retaining wall, hardscaping, planting, lighting, irrigation and new steps leading from our patio to the back gate. It required a lot of planning and attention to detail, and Jim and the team handled it extremely well. What I appreciate most was how Jim and Peter ran the project. They were on site every day, communication was honest and highly responsive and there were never any surprises. They listened when we had ideas, but they also helped with direction and shared their expertise which was much appreciated. The quality of the work is excellent. The stonework is beautifully done, and the plants they supplied are high quality. The finished space looks better than we could've imagined and much more functional than it was before. The crew was professional from start to finish. They showed up every morning, worked efficiently, cleaned up at the end of each day, and were respectful of both our property and our neighbours’. The project finished on time and on budget. This was actually our second project with Stoneworks. A few years ago they installed our front garden as well as a large tree in an interior courtyard. The tree was another challenging installation because of the limited access, size of the tree and required careful hand digging. That tree has thrived, which made hiring them again an easy decision. Good contractors are hard to find. Stoneworks combines quality workmanship with honesty, clear communication and a genuine pride in what they do. We’ll absolutely use them again and would confidently recommend Jim, Peter and their team to anyone considering a landscaping project.

Your project was indeed quite unusual. With the addition of a staircase leading down to the Leaside park, your property is safer and more comfortable. We really enjoyed your project, aside from the difficulty level. The planting, lighting and irrigation really contributed a lot to the end result. It will only get better with time as the plants mature. One of my favourite details on your property was the last minute addition of the one uplight on the tree in the centre of the house. One light made a huge difference.
