Had them install a furnace for me this summer. When I called they were quick to set up an appointment to come look at my issues and the tech that came seemed very knowledgeable and friendly. He pointed out the issues and I agreed with him on all the issues and he gave me a cost break down of repair vs new and with the prices I was given it made no sense to repair so I opted to replace. Replacing I got a government rebate and the cost of their diagnostic visit would be removed from the cost of the install. They were able to schedule the replacement for the following Monday. Perfect. Install day- This is where I picky and what I deduct stars for in this review. -1 star They sent out a 2nd year apprentice to do my replacement. In my opinion and experience this is unacceptable and unprofessional. A 2nd year apprentice is still a student and needs to be supervised by a professional Journeyperson. I called their office and expressed my concerns. The salesman I spoke to seemed annoyed about my concerns but we made an agreement that they’ll send out a Journeyperson to review the work. Unfortunately they did not do this. Since my review they have reached out to rectify this. This shows they want customer satisfaction and it’s appreciated. I just replaced the filter in my furnace days before they came and they threw the filter away. They didn’t check if it was clean and wasted a perfectly good filter. When they finished their work they took payment but their office did not deduct the previous service calls amount off the work order, the tech was unable to deduct it for me so he asked me to pay in full and call the office the next day to request a refund. I did this and called their office and they rectified the situation right away and refunded the amount. This wasn’t a huge deal but was an extra inconvenience I had to go through for a step they missed. Rebate from sask energy on invoice states should receive in 4 to 6 weeks from day of install in form of a cheque. I am on week 9 and still do not have it. I called Sterling and am now being told it can take up to 3 months for rebate. That’s fine and is what it is and that’s on Sask Energy not Sterling but they shouldn’t tell me before purchase and have in writing on invoice that it takes 4-6 weeks for rebate when they clearly know it can take longer. It’s misleading. I would recommend Sterling Plumbing and Heating.

We understand that having a 2nd year apprentice handle your installation did not meet your expectations. We do pull permits with TSASK inspections and they inspect all our work, to ensure no deficiencies are made. In the mean time we will set up a return trip with a Journey person for peace of mind. Regarding the glue on your walls and the disposal of your filter, these are certainly not the standards we aim to uphold. We understand how these issues could be frustrating, and we are taking steps to ensure our installers are more mindful of these details moving forward. We are also sorry for the oversight with the service call deduction, during this time it was 30+ degrees out and something like this may have got missed. We are glad to hear that our office was able to resolve this promptly, but we regret that it caused you additional inconvenience.Your feedback is invaluable as it helps us improve our services. Thank you for considering us for your heating needs, and we hope to have the chance to serve you better in the future.

Sterling Plumbing & Heating 's Technician Rob Houde is a strong performer ; he has excellent technical knowledge , he has good customer service ability , he can troubleshoot the client's problem , he can determine an appropriate solution to the problem that is cost reasonable . I paid to get my HVAC fixed, a few days later it broke down. They said they had to buy another part. They fixed it again and it broke down a few days later.
