Big disappointment! [edited after response from owner] I changed the number of stars because I realise it was unfair to MGB to blame them fully for the problems caused by the delivery service (DPD). I did give kudos to MGB to refund and replace a disappeared box delivered when it should not have. I also did not comment on the veg and fruits themselves which were a good mix and good quality, so extra star for that. Sorry I cannot go higher than three stars. By the way, I did not receive a box on Tuesday 30th, it was the week before that you provided the replacement and thanks for that. If you have 'proof' of delivery on 30th, please send it to me, because I never received notification, either from you, or dpd that my box had been sent - and you did not even take payment for it.... ------ I really thought I'd found the ideal veg delivery company: local business, flexible subscription that allow you to 'skip' weeks, list of products you can earmark as 'do not like' so you don't get them in your box.... What more do you want? Problem 1: they are only as good as their delivery service! Unfortunately, they have chosen to go with DPD... The first delivery announced an hour slot, but I ended up waiting all day. Unfortunately, I live on a busy road where people will not think twice about stealing a box of veggies if left unattended for too long, so I have to stay in and wait! Problem 2: despite marking pomegranates as stuff I don't want in my box, guess what I got on my first delivery? yep! Problem 3: I had to work on a Saturday unexpectedly, the day of my delivery, so I used the website (which they claim you can use to cancel or rearrange delivery) to change my delivery day from Saturday to Tuesday. All good, and then...... email from DPD telling me they have my box and they will delivery the next day (the Saturday!). I email Marvellous Beans and Greens, an Scott confirms they've not picked up the box yet and they'll cancel that and change it to Tuesday. Good. Except that, Saturday comes, I am at work and I get a DPD message telling me 'your order has been delivered' and I can see from the picture that they've dumped the box in full view of the street - duh! They could not even think of hiding the box behind the rubbish bins or something! Anyways, kudos to Marvellous Greens and Beans who refunded me and resend a box. Problem 4: Next delivery, I contact MGB as I have not received a message from DPD and they acknowledge that they missed me out. So they urgently set up a new delivery for my box! Problem 5: I've been waiting for my box again all day.... no DPD message, no message for MGB, no box.... so I've decided that's it. No more veggie delivery for me. Problem 6: I go to the MGB website to cancel my subscription, only to find out that it is not possible; when I entered my details, they somehow created a 'Stripe Link' which cannot be deleted unless I call the shop. To be honest, by this stage, I have found the veggie delivery box idea - which I thought would be a time saver - to be more stressful than going shopping! I contacted my bank and cancelled my card so that no further payment can be taken by MGB, another annoyance as it means I will now need to remember to update the card details on all my other subscriptions! MGB may be a lovely local shop, but not worth their salt for a weekly delivery. Sorry.

We’re sorry for the frustrations you experienced, and we’d like to address your comments point by point. We did our best to find resolutions to issues that were, in several cases, outside our direct control.

1. Courier and delivery windows
We’ll feed all of this back to our courier provider. Your experience with the time slot and the safe-place handling isn’t the standard we expect on your behalf.

2. “Do not like” preferences
We’re sorry a pomegranate appeared despite your preference settings. We reviewed your profile and responded accordingly by ensuring your preferences are correctly saved and by addressing the unwanted item on our side.

3. Attempted delivery-day change
We feel we supported as best we could once you advised you needed to move the delivery. After receiving confirmation that you wished the box to be withdrawn, the courier had already collected it, which limited what we could do in real time. We nonetheless intervened, monitored the delivery, and corrected things afterwards.

4. Missed message / rebooking
You received a box on 30 September, as requested. We have proof of delivery from our courier provider for that consignment, unless I have misunderstood the issue here, I thought the team had taken care of this with you.

5. Waiting without courier updates
We appreciate how disruptive this was. We’ve raised the lack of notification with the courier so they can review their scan and messaging performance on your route.

6. “Stripe Link” explanation
“Stripe Link” refers to our secure payment system, which we also use to issue refunds. That token can’t be removed online for security reasons; our team disables it on request to prevent any further charges. This is a fraud-prevention measure rather than a restriction on you.

Again, apologies for the inconvenience. We’ll continue to push our courier for better communication and handling, but we do feel a one-star review is harsh given the steps we took to support you and put things right promptly. Many of the negative aspects you experienced related to the courier’s performance, which we are actively addressing with them. We would love to have an opportunity to put this right with you and turn this 1* review into a 5* service as is indicative of many of our other customers. I'd love the opportunity to speak with you once again, maybe via a phone call to see how we can make it up to you and not leave you feeling like we are a 1* company. I hope you give us another opportunity and I look forward to hopefully speaking again via email or telephone.

Marvellous Greens and Beans is a delightful local grocers and deli which i recommend a visit to to anyone in the Honor Oak area. They have high quality fresh fruit and vegas well as a wide variety of fresh produce and tinned goods inside the shop. They also take delivery of a variety of gluten free breads on a Thursday, and Doughnuts on a friday and Saturday morning. I have had coffee and pastries from Marvellous Greens and Beans a number of times, service is always friendly and quick and the coffee is solid and pastries tasty.

All neighbourhoods should have a store like this. Everything here is to love. It feels that all of the produce, coffee, pastries etc have been chosen with one mission in mind. To deliver the best quality at a great price. This grocery shop, deli, cafe is absolutely awesome.

1st delivery wasn't even picked up from dpd owner phoned and told me fairenough. To then this was delivered to my door!! - sent photo to the owner and heard nothing back! No refund nothing. Avoid!

Absolute pleasure dealing with this company, the gentleman I spoke to went out of his way to sort out the delivery of a fruit box for the following day, even though technically it had gone past the cut off point. He was patient, and even sent a photo of the fruit box when it was done as I was curious to see what it looked like. Good old-fashioned customer service, 5 stars! Thank you
