The food, the wine and the service are all amazing. This is a fabulous restaurant and very reasonably priced for such quality. The staff are all wonderful. Would highly recommend.

Incredible dinner ! We’re French and we found this restaurant by walking down the streets : very chic, quiet place with terrace, kind waiters, excellent dishes with affordable prices and good products quality (in contrast with the others bad restaurants of the city center). We were so glad to came !

Super restaurant caché dans une ruelle au calme dans Albufeira. Rien à voir avec les attrape touristes d’à côté. Super accueil, équipe accueillante et courtoise, lieu décoré avec goût, cuisine propre et plats délicieux. Le Bacalhau était super bien préparé ! C’est un plaisir de pouvoir dîner dans ce genre d’endroit ici ! Un soulagement de trouver un restaurant rassurant et réellement bon !

Quality food, my wife had the octopus starter and monkfish main amazing. Octopus was soft and well seasoned, the monkfish tender and creamy. My starter was the scallops which again cooked to perfection and king prawn fettuccine. Well worth the money and would go back.

Staar is fantastic. My wife and I went to Albufeira some years ago and ate at a fantastic little family restaurant. This time around, we couldn't find it and were frankly dismayed at how touristy the town has become. Then we found Staar on a little side street and I gotta say... five stars are not enough. The food was fantastic, the ambiance in the place is very chill and the service was impeccable; the young woman who was our server was truly lovely. The prawns and monkfish in garlic sauce were INSANE. My wife and I are New Yorkers and have traveled all over the world -- and the meal and the restaurant's calm were way up on our list. Totally worth a visit.

Excellent food and service
Excellent food and service. We were looking all over for somewhere "nice" to eat. So glad we found Staar. Happy to wait for a quality restaurant's opening time instead of going to one of the laminated menu with pictures eateries. I had carpaccio to start and the fish of the day, seabass. My wife had pork spring rolls then fillet steak. No complaints about anything. All well cooked, well presented and with excellent service from Willyam and Mara. The house red and white shouldn't be shied away from, if you just want a glass (could of happily done a bottle of either or both). Well worth a visit.

If you’re wise…
Look for the Staar. I don’t think I ask too much from restaurants. Polite staff that appreciate you are spending your hard earned money with them and nice food and drink. This place really delivered. We hadn’t booked but were early enough to get a table luckily. From sitting down until the moment we left we loved everything. The staff were pleasant, the food was cooked well and presented by a chef that obviously cares about presentation. All three courses were a joy. The menu isn’t huge but well thought out and my wife who’s vegetarian had no problems. The bill was very reasonable and I made a point of booking for our next visit

One of the best meals I’ve had while traveling international. The steak was insanely good and the scallop appetizer and fried octopus was perfect.
