James was fantastic
I left a previous review and thought I'd pressed 5 stars. I'd accidentally pressed 4. So I write another review to reiterate how exceptional James was with my plumbing problem.
If you have any issues....don't hesitate in hiring James from SR Plumbing.
He was hardworking, polite, helpful and really knowledgeable.
I would recommend to anyone needing a plumber urgently.
Great service. No complaints at all!

Not happy
Plumber came to my girlfriend’s house to fix a toilet flushing problem. She was quoted at £80+ an hour. He spent 3 hours there but went off twice to get parts. First time he got the wrong part. She was charged for this time taken, of course. He was unable to fix the problem. Said he’d return next day and not charge. He returned but was unable to fix the problem and she was left with no cold water upstairs. She got another plumber in who said a total mess had been made by the original plumber who was inept. She now needs a new system. The company charged her £480. I was annoyed she paid them because the company knew they had failed and charged a lot of money (she is elderly) despite saying on their web site that satisfaction was guaranteed. She was so upset by it all that she was sent to A and E with dangerously high blood pressure. I wouldn’t touch this company with a barge pole.

There was a bit of a pricing information issue but the team were extremely responsive and have said they will take the feedback on board as well as updating the invoice for us so cannot fault the customer service. Happy with the work carried out, the plumber was very friendly and efficient, explaing things as he went along.

Plumber who attended was polite and friendly got on with the job, he cleaned up after and rechecked for any leaksI provided the new tap, total time of job was about 40 minutes I was billed £213 which I thought was quite pricey,I know I was informed of price before but to be charged another£89 for going over by ten minutes seems a bit much
First class experience from the phone being answered to the plumber arriving. He was lovely and investigated the issue. Gave a solution and put in a temporary fix till he can come and complete the job. Left us with working hot water and heating. Tidied up after himself. Very impressed. Photos of the “in progress”
Extortionate prices
I called SR Plumming to do a job after a compression fitting blew off flooding my kitchen. I isolated the water and when the Plummer turned up late on a Friday afternoon it was clear the job wasn’t getting done. It was only to solder two 90 degree angles and a T piece I already had the copper pipe. I was told he had no fittings and if he had to go and get some it was going to cost me £500 but if I left it till Monday it would only be £255
I was stunned by the cost and the Plummer left I then purchased the fittings and did it myself for under a fiver.
I got charged £108 for a call out and nothing was done but a push fit blank. This is a total rip off. I have sent a email to sr Plumming but no reply
I would not recommend this company

I managed to book an appointment for the next day, which at first seemed like a positive experience.
The confirmation email did not state that if the plumber was missing a part and decided to go out to get it, I would be charged for the time he spent away from my property. I had a very simple under-sink filter to install — a five-minute job. However, the plumber claimed he didn’t have a certain part and needed to leave to get it, without telling me that time „outside my house” will be included into „on site work”.
As a criminologist, I am very sensitive to unfair or misleading practices by service providers. I contacted Trading Standards, who agreed with my concerns and confirmed that all TERMS MUST BE clearly communicated before work begins. They also advised me to request ADR mediation, but the company said they “handle disputes themselves”, and showed no understanding of my position.
Following procedure, I issued a pre-court letter. The company responded that they “position remains unchanged” because in their opinion “The charges applied were transparent, agreed in advance, and consistent with our published rate and Terms & Conditions. The invoice was reviewed, paid in full, and your account is closed. No refund is due. If you choose to pursue a claim, it will be defended accordingly.”
I paid only because I received daily messages demanding payment, which felt like harassment, especially while the dispute was still ongoing.
Unfortunately, the company left me with no choice but to take this matter to court, where it will be properly assessed. As I do not want to be involved into further discussions.
I hope my experience helps others avoid a similar situation.
89.00 plus vat was the cost additional cost for parts etc....8.30/10.00 slot booked, turned up at 10.00 said it would be better to get a new tap, which I agreed to, so he went 1.5 miles to the local screwfix to get a tap costing 40.00....he did the job, probably about 30 mins max plus the travel to get the part, bill arrived, or taken direct from card total 276.00! Ah... but itemised billing showed 89.00 per 30 mins....I'm in the wrong job!
Wow.....276.00
Wow....276.00 to replace a tap! Quoted 89.00 plus vat with extras if needed, gave a 2 hour slot 8.30-10.00 (get home from night shift at 8.30) turns up at 10.00...says better to get a new tap, went for tap costing 40.00, fixed tap, the bill comes and it's 89.00 per 30 mins...I am in the wrong job!
Very Very Expensive
Charging £89 per half hour plus VAT. I did not realise that we would be charged while the plumber went off site. He was gone for almost an hour which meant it cost £178 just for him to go shopping!!! He then went off site again for 30 mins (another £89.) Total cost for two and a half hours work was £675 (VAT included). It was to replace a pump in the toilet cistern and another minor part. Flush on toilet is not as could as previous flush.

Good job done but expensive
Can't fault the work carried out by Niall, fixed a leak under the kitchen sink and also fixed the toilet cistern button. Niall was very polite and friendly, explained what he was doing abd cleaned up thoroughly afterwards.
However, I must mention to anyone wanting a job done by SR Plumbing make sure you ask what the labour charge is first, I thought £89 per 30 minutes was rather expensive.
