Stairs, Deck and Pergola I would definitely recommend Springvan Carpentry & Construction. Paul and his crew are terrific. They recently rebuilt my back stairs and deck and added a new pergola. Paul responded very quickly to my initial inquiry and provided a competitive quote, after checking underneath my existing deck to see the state of the old foundation, and factoring that in. They started and finished on schedule and always cleaned up at the end of each day. They were very pleasant and they did a great job.

My friends and neighbours all ask the perfect question;"where can you find people to do this sort of work?". Word of mouth. Our new stairs have transformed the house. They are beautiful. Carefully planned, perfectly executed and built from the finest natural and engineered materials, they will be there in 50 years time.

Paul and his team did a great job replacing my french doors and front stair railings, plus one or two smaller jobs, including an awning to help resolve rain damage. They were on site when they said they would be and got the jobs done within the deadline I requested. And they were always respectful and friendly. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for high quality carpentry tasks in the Vancouver area.

Deck & fascia replacement Excellent work by Springvan & their subcontractors. Provided a detailed price & diagram to replace fascia boards, cedar siding, plywood, Weatherdek vinyl and railing & glass. Answered my questions and provided advice. Commenced the work on the exact date! Excellent communication, project management, quality of work and attention to deal (especially tie-ins). You can tell Springvan has work with its vinyl and railing subcontractors for a long time. Well co-ordinated and seamless.

Unfortunately our experience with Springvan Carpentry has been lukewarm at best, but I recognize the value in their work. Our projects endured repeated schedule slips, and at every step we had to follow-up to ensure quality work was delivered. Multiple trades had to be called back to fix deficiencies that would have only taken a little extra time to do nicely the first time. Paul was largely supportive about getting everything up to nicer finish quality but I was frequently disappointed that it wasn't done with care and consideration the first time.

Springvan came in at the end of a year long renovation to add fencing of two types, one quite unique, a deck, outside platform/staircases, and also to address a drainage issue. They were by far the best and most hard working crew of all the crews who went through our place. They never dropped the ball, not once , and their communications were the best of all the crews that we dealt with over the entire project(s). Would recommend 100% and they will be our first call when we need any further work.
