We absolutely LOVE our Homebody classes. No time out of the day driving to a gym--it's right there in our house! Awesome coaches who encourage and watch out for your form, exercises that strengthen strengthen strengthen! And don't get me started on the fun themed Wednesdays--always entertaining :) Lastly, so cool that we do a round robin name game to start--we are part of a kick-ass community!

I've been a member of this gym since 2015, in its previous iteration. It's always been a good, hard workout, with instructors who give a lot of personal attention, and friendly to people of all skill levels. Under the new ownership, I've seen a resurgence of the positivity that used to be the hallmark of the place in the early days. I'm happy to see classes filling up again, and I hope it continues, because it's the only place I've ever been able to stick to working out on a regular basis. The classes will kick your ass, and you won't get hurt

Jake clearly explains everything that is happening in the class and will correct when necessary to assist and improve outcomes from the exercise. He is very caring mindful of safety and when a particular move proves difficult due to a previous injury or problem area he comes up with a viable alternative instead. I can't praise Jake highly enough I really enjoy his classes and always feel real benefits after spending time with him.

Truly a unicorn! Expert instructors that somehow manage to demonstrate with great clarity (offering “run your own” modifications) while also being charming hosts who build community and make fitness fun. This magical combo has kept me coming back and getting stronger since my free week in January 2022. Highly recommended.
Even while modifying due to a recent spine injury, I’ve managed to build strength and speed up returning to full function. I love this place!
Whether you're a newbie or a fitness enthusiast, Speakeasy is a great alternative to the traditional gym. The staff and trainers are unparalleled in their friendliness, personal attention, and breadth of knowledge. The workouts are challenging but fun, and after 10+ years there, I'm still learning and growing. Then there are the members - people talk about their gym community, but Speakeasy is something special. It truly is the 'Cheers' of Hell's Kitchen, where everybody knows your name. Speakeasy is the best of the best!

If you want great workouts that are based on actual fitness mechanisms and not social media hype this is the place for you. Everyone is welcome and there isn’t toxic gym energy. Come as you are.
I love MFF. It is more than a gym, it is a Community. I am fitter than I have been in years, because I want to be there. Our teachers are amazing and compassionate . The classes are fun and effective.
But most importantly, it is a small intimate gym, so the training is intense, and we are well looked after. No injuries at MFF!
The best decision I made moving to NYC, was joining this magnificent club!
I've joined many gyms over the years but this is the first one I actually GO to on a regular basis. Part of what makes working out at Speakeasy so transformative is that I actually want to show up consistently because A) I love it B) I can see the difference in my own strength and C) I can feel the difference in how I go through my day, with more energy and clarity. Chad, Jake, and Raj (really all the coaches are awesome but these are the folks I see the most) make working out fun and safe so I lift heavier and push myself just a little harder -- without injury! Someone is always there to correct your form and help you do a move correctly. And the community is the secret sauce -- an incredible mix of hard-working, nonjudgemental, encouraging people who are there in the trenches with you, motivating you to do your best, whatever your best might look like. Love this place!
In one sentence: this is a loving, fun community of extremely strong people. I love it here so much!! I’ve been in and out of this gym since 2015, and I’ve always been the strongest and had the most fun here vs. big box gyms or other fitness classes (in fact, I have never been a “fitness class” person before). By the end of each hour, I’ve usually laughed at least a couple of times, and surprised myself with my own strength. Everyone who works here is knowledgeable and they teach some very technical movements, but you never feel overwhelmed or pushed past what you can do. This is sustainable strength training that you can rock at any age, size, or strength level.
