We could not be happier with our experience with Spartan! Our air conditioner stopped working in the middle of July. The owner, Josh answered our call first thing at 7 am. He was very friendly and was able to work it out so we would have a technician stop out that day. Ryan came out that morning and was very professional, courteous and listened to the information we provided and didn't waste any time. He had us up and running, cleaned up and checked over in under an hour. The price was very reasonable, and we are so grateful that we were not taken advantage of. We will be repeat customers and refer anyone who asks for suggestions on who to reach out to. Thank you.

A service call for my a/c blown compressor for $50, out if area fee $120, blown fuse, here for 1 hour. Total.... $374.50 I don't know how. Plus I think it is horrible to ask an elderly and disabled person to pay an extra $120 just because I live in Oxford and you are in Cedar Rapids. Plus I was not told of this fee ahead time. Now it is about 4 weeks later and my a/c is doing exactly the same thing before they came. I would not recommend this company. Martina Poole

Spartan has made lifelong customers of my family and I. Josh and Logan came to do an initial assessment of the A/C unit at our home. Not only were they incredibly respectful and friendly, within seconds, it was obvious how knowledgeable they are in HVAC. Following the inspection, there was no pressure or “sales pitch” from Josh, just an honest opinion on next steps. The day of the A/C unit replacement, the team was friendly, knowledgeable, and very considerate of our home. Within 5 hours, our unit was completely replaced and our home was being cooled better than ever. The workmanship of this team is unmatched! This is a company I trust, will continue to use, and suggest to others!

Josh and his team are the real deal. The customer service is exceptional, always watching out for what’s in our best interest. My wife and I purchased a house in August ‘24 that has Geothermal. Just by chance we called Spartan once we were having issues. Geothermal units are complicated and take a lot of time to diagnose, trial and error, etc. After 2 times of visiting and trying to fix the issue, Josh called me directly. He came out for free himself to look at it and has helped me through the process even when it didn’t mean more $ for his business. You don’t see this level of customer care anymore, couldn’t recommend them enough. They will always my business from now on.

Spartan Heating, Cooling, and Fireplaces, Charged me $600+ to repair and replace Parts on my Furnace, and then when it still didn't Work, left me on Read and ignored me, despite having Freezing Temps and Children in the home, I will never use them again, I'm still waiting on our 1st receipt for when they came out the 1st time.

Guy, thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to clear the air. You are absolutely correct that your bill was $600 and that is with parts labor and drive time. This was discussed with your wife prior to ever leaving the shop for the repair. Also before the parts were installed and billed it was recommended at that time that you change your furnace because the likelihood of this equipment running for much longer was unlikely. The furnace then ran fine for almost three weeks until it had a catastrophic failure and I personally was there at your home to check it out. At which time I did not bill you anything for that trip and offered to credit your money for the repair and give a veterans discount to help you guys out. That was two weeks ago. I know you guys have my phone number because your wife called and texted me back and forth. This no answer situation that your upset about is over a Facebook message you sent not even 24hrs ago. We are a family business and only have two guys and an apprentice in the field. I’m sorry we did not get back to you immediately but we were extremely busy this week on projects. I have since tried to call the number on file so we can discuss this matter and was met with no response. As a USMC veteran myself I take these reviews very serious as I run my business with the three marine corp values, honor, courage, and commitment. I’m sorry you felt your experience with us was poor, but after looking through all the other reviews you leave it seems that is your experience at most businesses. Our furnace stopped blowing warm air. I called around 7:30pm, Josh answered right away. He showed up within the hour and was super helpful. Explained what he was doing and what safety things to look for if something else were to happen. Our furnace is about 20 yrs old so safety and longevity of our furnace is definitely a concern. Really appreciate his friendliness and his knowledge. Definitely recommend Spartan Heating for after hours and will use them for non emergency calls too! :)

Absolutely no "salesmanship", but honest assessment. Pictures of the interior showed cracks in the heat exchanger. Options were given of what to do. The estimate was very fair. They were here at 8:00 and by 2:00 our house was being heated by a new Daikin furnace. Superb workmanship. The men were clean, considerate, knowledgeable and obviously took pride in doing things right. They talked to me to make sure I understood and agreed with what what they were doing. Great cleanup afterwards. I wasn't asked for any kind words or recommendation. It was I who told Josh that I would like to make some comments. So far, Spartan has a 5-star rating and for good reason.

The Spartan team did an absolutely amazing job replacing my AC Unit. I reached out to them as a second opinion after not being impressed with a different company's quote. Jared, who Spartan sent to assess the unit, gave me a comprehensive explanation of the problem. He was able to use Layman's terms, and ensured I understood all my options before committing to a solution. His knowledge and patience made my choice to use them for the replacement super easy! AC was replaced and running within a week Josh, Jared, and the rest of the team are definitely very proficient, responsive, and professional. Will continue using/suggesting them in the future.

Found them through a Facebook group. Ended up coming out within a hour diagnosed the system. Which we need a whole new a/c condenser and coil. Came out next day installed the unit within hours.
