South Scotland Solar recently fitted my solar and battery insulation. Callum replied to my initial enquiry quickly and carried out a home survey. He provided me with straight forward and easy to understand advice on a subject I knew nothing about. He maintained contact as I went through the HES grant funding process answering all my questions on what can be a daunting process. He and his team arrived on time on the date identified for installation and installed the whole system over two days. He then returned later to link my phone and walk me through the app which controls everything. I’m delighted with the new solar which is working faultlessly and I would recommend SSL to anybody who is looking to install a solar and battery system. Callum was recommended to us by a company who did not cover the North of England. He was very professional and thorough. Even though he hadn't seen our house or the possible problems that may have surfaced he just got on with it. On the day of installation the team just got on with the job, professionally and surprisingly fast. It was completed in about 3 hours. Since the installation, he has been on hand to advise with little glitches and more technical problems. All of which have been resolved with his help. I can thoroughly recommend him to anyone wanting to use his services.

Firstly I really liked Callums straight approach, not a nonsense salesman talking for the sake of it. He took his time looking at the property and measuring up what would or wouldn't work. Felt as though I got a customised quote rather than an out the box quote from some other companies. Detailed quote and information provided, it was then very straight forward. We cannot recommend Callum highly enough. I was looking for someone to fit solar for ages but found everything so confusing. From start to finish Callum it all totally straightforward. He provided a full and detailed quote, which even I understood and did an absolutely fabulous job. No pushy sales just facts and figures and explanation. His team were so professional and efficient even down to the tidy-up! He a doesn’t fit and run either - always available to explain stuff and help out with questions.

Had my solar panels installed back in the summer. The advice from Calum was perfect. The price was at least £2k cheaper then others for same set up. Had the Eddi system set up for surplus power to heat up the hot water and batteries in the loft. Panels excellent. Batteries saving me a fortune. Not sure the Eddi system worth it - but this was my idea!! Aftercare has been excellent. Would highly recommend Calum to install your solar set up. Thank you.

Really pleased we went with Callum, professional, friendly, and excellent service, which he delivered on time, with no interruptions to us (as we work from home). His quote was the most competitive, and spent the most time assessing our needs. He then explained the different options and which one he thought was best for our energy consumption. Callum gives ongoing support to help guide us through the app and work out the best ways to maximise our energy and when to sell back to the grid, a complicated system made easy by having his knowledge and support.. Normally I don't leave reviews but felt compelled to do so for South Scotland Solar. On looking for a company to provide solar panels and a battery, I was recommended South Scotland Solar by several people. I asked 3 companies for quotes and Callum was the only person that came when he said he would and was extremely thorough, spending much longer than the other companies, going over every detail and checking all the aspects of the property. I was impressed straight away with his manner and professionalism and was very surprised how competitive his quote was when it arrived. The detail he provided was excellent and was by far the best presented and easiest to understand of all the quotes. I engaged Callum's services and he gave me a clear timescale. It was a slightly unusual install in a large Summerhouse with a non-standard roof. Prior to installation, some of my requirements changed. Callum took this in his stride and his communication was excellent, repyling to my messages very quickly. He came up with a new plan based on my changed requirements, specifically tailored for me. When it came to the install time, he arrived on time, when he said he would and I can testify to how hard he worked throughout. He is clearly a hard-working person. The standard of his work was first class from start to finish. and cleaned up after himself. In addition to this, he was a genuinely nice person, talking about his young family and sharing a joke or two. It really was a pleasure to have him in my home. In terms of the install, I couldn't be happier and it's exceeded what I had hoped for. It's great to see how much I'm saving! I have no hesitation in recommending Callum, he is top of his class, a decent person, and is clearly passionate about his work and business. If you're reading this and pondering who to go with, honestly, don't look any further, you really won't be disappointed.

This company is a certified business who installs solar energy panels of the highest quality. They also provide information on battery installation, selling your excess electricity to the grid and also a complete and comprehensive contract sent to you ahead of any signed contract. Callum Shields is the company owner and installer of the above and works with Euan Tait a certified electrical technician on the full installation. He uses the best equipment on the market and is very efficient and tidy in his work. He leaves nothing to chance and gives a personal touch to his work. My installation was smooth and tidy and done in his specified time frame. He also downloaded the APP onto my phone to show how much electricity I was making, a true easy going family man with his client’s interests foremost in his mind. My initial contact was through word of mouth and was given a FREE estimate to browse through at my leisure, with any questions answered clearly, there was no sales pressure whatsoever, just clear information right from the beginning. First class work and after installation contact was five star. I fully recommend this chap if you are considering solar installation.
