Following my recent solar and battery installation, I am very happy to recommend South Scotland Solar Ltd. Calum & Liam were easy to deal with, and they really helped me better understand my requirements. They supplied, installed and commissioned the complete system, and carried out all the associated paperwork necessary for the grid connection and export. I started receiving export payments in under 4 weeks, which I understand is quick.
I've had a keen interest in using solar & battery for a few years, and after a lot of investigating and exploring options and costs, I finally took the plunge. There are lots of enticing offerings around, but I wanted to deal with an established local company with a proven history and good reviews. So I contacted South Scotland Solar Ltd. for a proposal and explained that I did not want a visit from a salesperson but wanted to discuss with someone with the skill/knowledge and practical experience. Liam visited and I explained what I wanted and we had a good and varied chat around all associated aspects. Liam carried out a roof survey, checking the mains electric setup, battery location etc., and a few days later I received a detailed design proposal and costs. Interestingly, their calculated payback time matched mine, but was calculated on an entirely different basis. I use a smart "Time of Use" tariff where my average electric unit cost is significantly below the standard rate, so potentially I had a longer payback, but by importing when cheap and exporting later the sums made sense.

Callum and his team were brilliant! They are enthusiastic, polite, knowledgeable and easy to get hold of when you have questions. The panels were put up with minimal fuss or mess. They tidied up after themselves. The whole process was easy. The price was good. If I need to put up solar panels in the future I would definitely use South Scotland Solar.

Very freindly and professional and were extremely courteous and respectful of the fact we were working from home during the installation. Very competitive price and the aftercare has been great when a few questions arose. Great having the mobile app to manage the energy usage. A+ service.

Great service from Callum at South Scotland Solar, so I would heartily recommend this firm. Easy to understand and clear initial advice, competitive quote and definitely no hard-sell, which I appreciated. They arrived to install on the agreed date, the installation itself was very neat and tidy and then Callum again explained everything during the commissioning of our system (panels, inverter and battery). We are very happy overall and looking forward to cheaper energy bills..!

Excellent service from a local company with all the relevant certifications. Clear and detailed quotation, no hard sell, quick installation, neat and tidy, no mess or fuss. Callum was happy to look at different options and give his advice on what would work best for our roof. Would highly recommend.

South Scotland Solar recently fitted my solar and battery insulation. Callum replied to my initial enquiry quickly and carried out a home survey. He provided me with straight forward and easy to understand advice on a subject I knew nothing about.
He maintained contact as I went through the HES grant funding process answering all my questions on what can be a daunting process.
He and his team arrived on time on the date identified for installation and installed the whole system over two days. He then returned later to link my phone and walk me through the app which controls everything.
I’m delighted with the new solar which is working faultlessly and I would recommend SSL to anybody who is looking to install a solar and battery system.

Callum was recommended to us by a company who did not cover the North of England. He was very professional and thorough. Even though he hadn't seen our house or the possible problems that may have surfaced he just got on with it. On the day of installation the team just got on with the job, professionally and surprisingly fast. It was completed in about 3 hours.
Since the installation, he has been on hand to advise with little glitches and more technical problems. All of which have been resolved with his help.
I can thoroughly recommend him to anyone wanting to use his services.

Firstly I really liked Callums straight approach, not a nonsense salesman talking for the sake of it.
He took his time looking at the property and measuring up what would or wouldn't work. Felt as though I got a customised quote rather than an out the box quote from some other companies.
Detailed quote and information provided, it was then very straight forward.
Callum and his team fitted everything really well (in some unpleasant December weather) , very neat and tidy.
Then hand over and follow up documentation was received quickly.
