We had a Fantastic 6 hours tour with Jenny(tour guide)! I thought that six hours may be long, but the time flew by. We learned so much, saw so much, and enjoyed every moment of it. Perfect experience, no complaints whatever. Jenny and the team are the absolute best, best city tour we ever been on! Take. This. Tour!
Amazing experience with Jenny! She is not only knowledgeable about the area but also fun and full of great energy. We laughed, explored, and had such a wonderful time. Her drone work is so smooth, and she captured exactly what we hoped for. I highly recommend the tour and her services!
Jenny is a top notch tour guide, as well as photographer. She is truly passionate about Utah's history as well as landscape. Just alone in her endless fun facts, you can tell she loves all things Utah. I did a short 5 day trip to Utah in the end of September, and wanted to hit my bucket list spots while there. I wanted to see the Bentonite Hills, but after a phone call to Southern Utah Tours/Meridian Tours I decided on the Purple Mountain tour instead. It is unique as there is a pit stop just before the hills to see the Mars Research Center from a distance, for all those space fans out there. Regardless I believe either is worth the private experience. Even if your photography skills are great, I would highly recommend adding the drone/photography option so you can have someone else take pictures of your unforgettable experience and you enjoy the views uninterrupted. Being on top of the Purple Mountains with a drone, is such a unique view it's unbelievable. Ripples of blue, and Purple swirl around the hills/mountains seen only during the "BLUE LIGHT HOUR". We decided on the sunset tour which was awesome. Along the drive Jenny was a safe and alert driver, with tons to talk about. She offered waters and snacks along the way if needed. As I pointed out areas asking about the terrain she explained the landscape as to what it was used for, to the sediments it was made from. She even offered to make a small detour to get up close to view the ancient seashells in what is known as Utah's beach. Proof the earth was flooded in history. Such a barron, dessert like environment having seashells is such an unbelievable thing to witness. We utilized some of the sites Jenny suggested on our way out of town and must see trails in other National Parks we were making our way to. Super helpful and well worth the detours. Jenny went above and beyond during our whole experience and being that our tour was into the night, she even offered to stop in nearby town to pick up quick dinner as by the time we got back to our airbnb most things would've been closed. Thankfully we ate beforehand, but was still a nice gesture. There is a unique spot for capturing drone footage of the Purple Mountains, and unfortunately there was a couple hogging the hill the whole time we were there, but Jenny respectfully, and professionally asked them if we could quickly capture a few images with her drone and we would be out of the way. They abided, and within less than 5 minutes she captured stunning videos and images that couple was probably spending 2 hours trying to do. One of the most unforgettable experiences of customer service was when I shared with Jenny our tour guide that earlier in day I lost my heirloom wedding ring in Capital Reef. I only discovered it 30 minutes prior to her picking us up for our tour. I was very stressed out, and sad I lost a passed down antique ring. Jenny was extremely sincere in her concern for my loss, and made me forget for the time on tour with her funny and interesting facts about the tour we were on. Her personality is one you would expect in your personal friends. She even went back out to the site with a friend and a metal detector trying to find it a few days later. Although it was not recovered, I will forever be grateful for the help and kindness in the situation. When I visit again with my children, I'm excited to do more tours with Jenny and have her capture more beautiful images of our experiences.
Of all the beautiful colors of the rock formations in the US, blue is the rarest. Our sunset tour with Meridian Tours last night exceeded all of our expectations. The colors of the Bentonite hills were magnificent. We also went fossil hunting and star gazing. We highly recommend doing the drone tour because our own cameras did not pick up the colors as well plus you get the altitude perspective.
great tour to an incredibly beautiful landscape
I very much enjoyed my tour with Jenny. She was very kind and so knowledgeable. I learned so much from her and she also gave me great tips for more hikes. I very much enjoyed talking to her. Apart from that, the tour was also wonderful. The landscape was breathtakingly beautiful and I had lots of time to enjoy and take pictures. Thank you! When I am back in Utah I would love to book another tour.
We did the sunset tour with Jenny and we highly recommend! She was very knowledgeable about the geology of the area and even made detours to show us dinosaur bones and sea shells in the desert! The highlight was having the temple of the sun and moon all to ourselves. We can’t thank Jenny enough for this amazing opportunity to show us spots that otherwise would have been very hard for us to reach ourselves.
Bentonite Hill Cathedral Valley Half Day Tour
WE enjoyed our day with Mel. Mel is extremely knowledgable of the area and history. Mel was has fun personality and picks you locally in his"The Beast" Range Rover. At no point did we feel rushed or in a hurry. Highly recommend! Restaurant recommendation was spot on as well.
Life is a great adventure. Treat yourself to a journey to the Bentonite Hills with Mel from Meridian. What a fantastic guide, knowledgeable in geologic history and native history. An intrepid off road navigator extraordinaire! What a rush!! You can sense how much Mel loves this park and the extreme wilds of Utah. We would have booked another tour with her if we had more time! Family insanely jealous when they saw the pics! Like Dune without the worms! All the best to you, Mel
We had an absolutely wonderful experience on our tour with Jenny. She guided us to the hidden bentonite spots with such knowledge and passion, and her insights made the visit truly unforgettable. Beyond that, her recommendations for other things to do in the area were spot-on and greatly enhanced our trip.
Fascinating landscape - great tour
Our tour guide was informative and fun! He took us to parts of the Park you would not normally see. It is the best way to do Capitol Reef. Given it is an off-road trip, the road can get very bumpy to almost unnavigable. If you try this with a normal car be ready to call for a tow and have a large repair bill. Mel was an expert at navigating the road.He knew the best spots for pictures and explained all the geographical features we saw well. Capitol reef does not have the "WOW" of Zion or Bryce, but if you have some intellectual curiosity you will enjoy the trip just as much. We actually saw dinosaur bones embedded in the rocks!Very little traffic on the trip. You pretty much have that part of the park to yourself. GREAT TOUR
Had a fantastic back-road tour through Capital Reef. Jenny, our guide, was knowledgeable, entertaining, and thoughtful, and an excellent off-road driver. We saw amazing sights and Jenny knew the best places to stop and helped us get great photos. The Jeep was comfortable and Jenny provided plenty of water and snacks. Highly recommended.
