Great food, great service, friendly staff, excellent waterfront location Friendly welcoming staff, great eggplant salad, spotlessly clean and great service. It would be great if there were a few more vegetarian options on the menu, and if there was water offered . Looking forward to returning and trying some of the amazing looking desserts!

Total disappointment A total let-down foodwise. All the dishes are Westernized and of barely any interest at all; we barely touched the food The dining room is unpersonal and way too illuminated. Excellent service by the she-maître D.

Excellent food and calm friendly staff The food is excellent the staff lovely. I came several times mainly because of the friendly service and great food. I will come again at my next visit to Phnom Penh.

Exquisite at every level. I have walked past this building any number of times, always pausing to reflect that it shows just how beautiful the architecture of Phnom Penh could be if people cared to make it so. The building is lovely. I'd never been inside to dine until tonight. How foolish of me. This was a world class restaurant. You could transplant this restaurant into Sydney or Melbourne and it would hold its own for sure. The environment was bright, fresh and elegant. The staff were very attentive and observant. I struggled just a little with accents, but that's on me. An extensive menu combining classic Khmer tastes with modern twists. I had pan-seared Sihanoukville Scallops as an appetiser. The scallop meat, which was relatively small but beautifully cooked, was nestled in am amazing fresh zesty salad which just tasted perfect. I already sound like one of those idiot judges on Master Chef, but it was that good. I then had the King Prawn mango salad, a twist on a Khmer classic. The taste was authentic and traditional, but still somehow had a little something extra to show that it was assembled by an expert. Presentation was beautiful too. I finished with Caramelized duck, which was falling off the bone, and presented in a beautiful sauce with rice. The cocktails are to-die-foor and the wine list is well selected, offering considerable alternatives, particularly for those buying by the bottle. As for prices, this restaurant is not cheap by Phnom Penh standards but most definitely not outrageous. I had three courses, water and a cocktail, with a tip, for fifty bucks. You can start a fight in any place the expats gather by asking "Which is the best restaurant in Phnom Penh?" This would have to be close to the top of the list though. Thoroughly recommended.

Excellent Dining The experience at Sombok exceeded our expectations . The dishes were very well prepared and presented. Very flavorful dishes, balanced and tasty. Wine card a bit poor but ok, didn't spoil the amazing lunch we enjoyed as family. Certainly a restaurant I highly recommend in PP.
