Excited for LIFE!
Life-changing does not even come close to the reality of my experience with Ayahuasca. Words fall short to say the least, but if I could put words to my journey, they would be "Whole again", "stitched together with gold (like the Japanese Kintsugi)", "healed in ways I never thought possible".
I tried not to have expectations other than staying in a beautiful location (Playa Blanca) and having a really interesting "trip", but what I got was soooo much more. Firstly, let me say that it was intimidating as hell to travel to do plant medicine with complete strangers. As an HSP, I've always had a one-on-one preference to my healing journey, so the idea that there were going to be multiple people experincing their own journey at the same time was very overwhelming to me. However, those precious souls that shared this journey with me are now my family, including the Maestros and facilitators. Every single one! I've only been home a few days now and have no idea how this experience is going to change me in my daily walk of life, but I miss them all right now, wishing we were still there!
The Maestros....Oh My God!!! They are the most sacred, special people I've ever had the opportunity to be in presence with. The work they do with Ayahuasca, and us, is the thing I will hold most dear to me. Their connection with the plants are something that is ancient and sacred in ways we cannot fathom in modern society. Just being in their presence takes you into another world, but during ceremony, they transport you to another dimension of being! I am so beyond grateful for them.
The facilitators are ANGELS! Seriously! During ceremony, the moved throughout the Maloca as if they were literal angels. Several of us experienced them in this way during ceremony. Outside of ceremony, they helped us so much with integrating our experiences and gave us tools to utilize when we returned home to help us integrate further. They are Maestros in their own right! The dedication and sacrifice they make to help others find themselves are beyond "service". They are what makes every day at Soltara special. I will cherish them forever!
The food...seriously...THE BEST FOOD ON THE PLANET!!! I bow down to the kitchen staff for how incredible I feel after partaking of the sacred foods they prepared for us. Meals were a ceremony in and of themselves.
Although the heat could be overwhelming (it's Costa Rica, after all), I really felt that it was just another way of learning to lean into discomfort and be ok with it. Every moment I spent at Soltara was a lesson along my journey.
Some takeaways...
1. I realize how much I NEED community and laughter.
2. Moving through life, unhurried, at the pace of nature, is true joy and peace.
3. My body is a miracle and a part of the natural world to which we all belong. I will honor it as such going forward.
4. I am finally excited for LIFE! Not just the future, but TODAY! Every moment!
