This was one of the coolest things I've ever experienced! Carissa and Nyx provided us with some amazing insight into these birds and their handlers. Looking into Nyx' eyes while in her personal space gives a new meaning to one with nature. A complete different perspective. Thank you Sky Island and my wife for the Christmas present!!!

A Great & Unique Experience
Our tour with Sky Island was excellent ! Fun & informative ... we enjoyed the" Hawk Walk " w/Clarrisa & her amazing Harris Hawk .. " Nyx " . She put on quite a show , flying about .. soaring hi & low while making acrobatic landings on all of our hands . So well behaved & in complete harmony w/ her trainer / partner . We also enjoyed the walk .. off trail & thru the beautiful Ironwood Natl. Forest while taking in the expansive 360 degree views ! I am pleased to highly recommend this wonderful experience !
Sky Island confirmed our hawk walk the night before our April 3, 2025 booking, then no-call / no-showed the next morning. After waiting 30+ minutes, we had to email (no phone number listed) to learn there was a “scheduling issue” and nothing they could do that day. This was an early-morning, moderate drive from Tucson, and we were visiting from out of town so their offer to rebook “next season” (5–6 months away) wasn’t practical. They did issue a refund, but better communication ahead of time and more flexible solutions would have gone a long way.

An Unforgettable Experience with Majestic Bird of Prey
Sky Island Falconry offers one of the most captivating and educational wildlife experiences I've ever had. The presentation was expertly delivered and it was amazing to watch the hawk, Jeffrey, and see him up close. The handler, Brian, was incredibly knowledgeable and his passion for raptors and conservation was inspiring. Brian spent a lot of time answering questions, sharing stories and demonstrating the art of falconry. I highly recommend this experience.

Learn about the wonderful world of Falconry
An awesome experience. Our guide, Nare, introduced our group of 8 to a beautiful Harrison Hawk. We followed while she hunted in the Ironwood NationalMonument. We observed her catching a rabbit. Nate educated us to the fascinating world of falconry. Everyone got to experience the thrill of having the bird called to and land on their arm. We were also introduced to a 2nd Hawk, who we welcomed to perch on our arms. A great learning experience.

Terrific experience last Saturday with Brian Wood, and owl Otis and Jeffrey and one whose name I forgot. Brian is extremely knowledgeable and obviously loves what he is doing with his bird friends. If you are at all interested in birds and or falconry, I highly recommend Sky Island Falconry. The experience is a little bit different than that at the Broadmoor in Colorado Springs, but equally enchanting and thrilling.

Amazing experience! Different from most falconry experiences
My husband and I did the hawk walk today with Nate and his Harris Hawk, Nix. I have done falconry experiences before where you learn about the birds and get to hold them on your arm; however, this experience was so different and really amazing! In this experience you learn a lot about the hawk but also get to walk in the desert to "flush out" small prey (rabbits/squirrels) and watch the Hawk hunt. This was really amazing!

Incredible Experience
This was such an amazing experience! Brian was informative and entertaining and his birds of prey were terrific. The group of 10 people each had a turn at holding a screech owl, harris hawk and falcon. We got to practice recall with the hawk, him landing on each of us. This is the perfect gift for a bird of prey lover and I cannot wait to book the "hawk walk" next.

Magical Desert Experience
We had an absolutely fabulous experience with Nate and his daughter Emma. Being able to interact with Nix - the Harris’s hawk that came with us that day was magical. Nate’s encyclopedic knowledge of falconry and the flora and fauna of the desert itself, made the experience that much more enjoyable. Walking out in the Sonoran desert, off the beaten path, was magical. We thoroughly enjoyed our hawk walk and cannot recommend it highly enough. If you have the chance to enjoy this experience, make sure you!
