This is an entirely unacceptable experience. My wife was given completely false information she was told the WiFi would start immediately, which never happened. She was asked to pay $19 under the false pretenses that the connection would begin soon, despite the promises made upfront. Later, I was told they don't work on Sundays, yet they specified the 29th. This situation is extremely frustrating and unprofessional. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- day 2 with no connection. I have called three times today and have received no response via your portal since 12:00 PM. Local network provider Enable has confirmed the line is fine on their end, yet your team fails to follow up as promised.

Thanks for your feedback — we’re sorry to hear this has been a frustrating experience for you and your wife.

To clarify a couple of points, there was no request for a $19 payment. This is our standard pre-authorisation hold, which is clearly outlined during sign-up and is not a charge. You will not be charged until your fibre is connected and active. We have no set up fees at Simply Broadband.

In terms of timing, the requested connection date on the original order which was placed at March 28, 2026 17:12 was Monday 30th March at "any" time.

Additionally, we don’t activate new connections in the Christchurch area on Sundays, because Enable, the fibre network provider, do not provision new connections on weekends.

We understand how important it is to have clear expectations, and we apologise for the typo on your confirmation email. This was human error and sent at 12:56, stating that connection would take place at noon. An unfortunate error and we apologise.

We’ll take this on board to ensure communication is as clear as possible. If there’s anything still outstanding, please get in touch with us directly and we’ll be happy to help get things resolved.

Easy install, no downtime. I had to buy a new modem as I had no idea where we packed the other one. Trisha was great with helping with set up. Dave followed up to make sure we were happy. 5 stars 🌟 all around.

I had no internet since yesterday and had to rely on mobile tethering overnight to continue my work, which was very inconvenient. This morning, I contacted the support centre and was pleasantly surprised to receive a response within 20 minutes. The team guided me step by step through troubleshooting and provided clear instructions on what to do next, even when I had to step away. When I returned home later, my internet was working again. I truly appreciate the fast response, clear guidance, and supportive follow-up. Excellent and reliable service. Thank you for the great support!

CAREFUL- Their Internet is SLOW and had issues from day 1. I changed to a different provider- no more issues. OVERALL: Cheap & Nasty. Looking at other reviews tells me I’m not the first to experience this issue. There are better options out there than this company…

However, communication stopped before the troubleshooting and follow-up steps could be completed, which meant we weren’t able to fully diagnose, and resolve, the issue.

When the account was later cancelled, we explained the standard notice period outlined in our terms. At that time you also indicated you would leave negative reviews if the notice charges weren’t waived. While we always aim to be helpful and fair, we’re not able to make exceptions to clearly stated terms on that basis.

We genuinely try to resolve any issues whenever they’re raised and are always happy to work through troubleshooting with customers so problems can be properly diagnosed and fixed. Unfortunately in this case we weren’t given the opportunity to complete that process.

We wish you all the best with your new provider.

I recently switched providers and had my scheduled timing for internet on a later date. Sent a ticket through to see if I could schedule it to today instead, and everything was processed within 20 minutes. Very efficient and great comms by the team. Many thanks

Simply Broadband has made the entire process of setting up and managing our internet service as easy as possible. They're always extremely responsive and have handled all our requests quickly and easily. We even moved house across town and they made the process seamless, and we were able to handle 100% of it through a request submitted on their website. No phone calls needed!

My internet went down a couple of days ago. As soon as I contacted Simply Broadband via their website chat (on a Sunday, btw), they immediately acted on the issue - I received a reply within minutes. A Chorus guy came out the very next day to fix the fibre issue, and I was back up and running in no time. Amazing customer service!!
