Our stay was at Blue Horizons, a modern apartment on the West cliff. We were impressed. It was spacious, bathed in light from every direction, and very convenient. Great views from every window. Good heating system. Well equipped (although it seems a bit based on a belief that you eat out rather than cook for yourself) Settees comfortable but too low. Certainly somewhere we would return to.

Great property and very good location with car parking and only a short walk into the town centre, as well as being well located for days out along the coast.
The property is well equipped with everything needed and the central heating is super-efficient which was welcome due to the cold snap we had during our November stay.
Communications from booking to leaving were always clear and timely – and all in all a very good stay.

Loved the Old Ship Inn Whitby. Ideal location for the Goth Weekend.
Nice spacious bedrooms and kitchen area. Easy walking distance to town centre, Will return in 2025. Great family accommodation.

Stayed at Sandy Bottoms Whitby for 5 days .would really recommend . Warm comfortable with every amenity plus excellent views and parking a bonus .

Just back home from a 5 night stay at Fossil Hunters home in Whitby. Here's an honest take on what I/we found:
The good:
Location-wise, pretty good. If you're ok walking, it's probably 10-15 minutes walk to the shops - taking into account we had a 4-year old with us, it was nearer 20, but still not bad. Right by the riverside, so a scenic walk along the estate leads to the main road, with itself goes past the harbour and to the main shopping parade.
As for the house itself, pretty spacious inside. A large double en-suite bedroom to the top floor, along with two generous single rooms, living room, house bathroom and dining kitchen to the middle floor, spacious entrance hallway, with small double bedroom, W.C. and utility room - with access to rear garden. Under stairs storage area with handy bits and pieces such as hoover, mop, washing maiden etc.
For our young daughter, the house came with a few games such as Guess Who, Downfall, Lego etc - admittedly some of the board games have missing pieces which is kind of expected with the age of them and the fact it's a holiday home with assuming many guests over the years.
The "not so good":
Hate leaving what people will perceive as being negative or whinging, but as my reviews would suggest, it's only honest, fair feedback which is to be taken constructively not critically.
So, for the money, I don't think it necessarily proved value for money. Some points I'd make are;
1) level of cleanliness leaves a bit to be desired. Woodlice, dead flies and bugs were found under settees and beds, which isn't great, considering the cost of the rental. We hired the cottage as it allowed us to bring our two dogs. We hoovered up before the dogs settled, such was the untidiness found when we landed. Not a "biggy" but we feel significant enough to mention.
2) Half way through the week, we had to fill up the boiler as we had no hot water. Again, not end of the world stuff but we're lucky we knew our way around a boiler to sort it ourselves.
3) various bulbs didn't work, notably the kitchen and the outside light, which letting the dogs out at nighttime - was far from ideal.
4) appears to potentially be a spot of damp coming through the wall above the window in the ground floor bedroom. Additionally, in this bedroom, the handle on one of the windows is broken, hanging loosely.
5) kitchen extractor has seen better days, and ideally needs replacing. Although it switches on and powers up, it isn't extracting much.
Conclusion:
Would we visit Whitby again? Probably.
Would we stay here again? Respectfully may not be the first choice, but wouldn't not stay here, if that makes sense. Just a few relatively minor points overall, that if addressed, would turn this property around considerably.

Wonderful 3 night stay in Shorelines, Solar Cottage in Whitby. Daughter thought it was very Harry Potter-esk with it's 4 stories and small stairs. Very clean with everything you need. Directions to the property need updating but apart from that would not hesitate to use Shoreline again.

We Had A Great Time At Whitby The Apartment Was Fabulous With Wonderful Views Out To Whitby Pier Apartment Was Clean With Everything We Needed For Our Holiday It Was Close To All The Shops & Pubs

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Fantastic Stay at Hibwin House – Highly Recommend!
I recently stayed at Hibwin House, one of the Shoreline Cottages properties, while working in Whitby, and it couldn’t have been better. The location was absolutely ideal — close to everything yet wonderfully peaceful. The secure car parking was a huge bonus and made things so convenient.
The house itself was spotless from top to bottom, beautifully kept, and had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The beds were unbelievably comfy — easily some of the best nights’ sleep I’ve had away from home!
Overall, a perfect place to stay in Whitby, whether for work or a relaxing break. I’ll definitely be booking with Shoreline Cottages again.

We enjoyed our short break at Waters Edge Apartment situated in Whitehall Landing. The property was comfortable, spacious, and clean. We found the location of the apartment ideal, a short walk into Whitby centre, a private, secure carparking space and peaceful. What we most appreciated was the high standard of communication from Shoreline Cottages, including the information about the property, Whitby and the surrounding areas. We are sure this is welcome for first-time visitors visiting Whitby.

Hi, the property was exceptional.Warm and welcoming and very clean. The apartment was very pleasing to the eye with tastefully added decor.The only down thing we experienced was the constant dog fouling around the perimeter and on the parking bays. I will say that this was not to do with the block we where in,but the one right next to the new bridge. Plus why we where there there was maintence to the roof of the property. Afraid to say people had to squeeze past a cherry picker and manouver them selves over the stability leg of the machine. This was an obvious failure of the health and safety of the operation,has they where working over head. Also they failed to clean up their mess which they left over the pavement outside the access door to the block.regards Brian

Low Tide apartment was a great experience , two floors up the stairs but well worth the climb.
It starts from the moment you open the door, it smells lovely and is spotless.The rooms are quite spacious and well equipped,and the views from the master bedroom and the lounge are amazing.
All in all we were very happy, we could have stayed much longer. Thank you

The Old Curiosity Shop was a lovely cottage. Beautiful views, fantastic location and well equipped. I could leave a review without mentioning the bath! Enormous, no photo could do it justice. XX

We stayed in Tipple Cottage for 3 nights. What an amazing and unique place to stay. The views over Whitby Harbour were stunning. The cottage itself is comfortable, the decor is lovely and seaside themed. We slept so well, all that sea air. The kitchen and bathrooms were small, but really well equipped. Ideal for a short holiday. The floor in some parts was wonky, but that added to the character of the cottage. It was situated along the street from the steps up to the Abbey, and it was easy to walk into the main hub. Ideal holiday, park the car and forget about it. We done lots of walking, which was just lovely.
When we arrived, we met Billy from Shoreline, who was very helpful and friendly.
We would highly recommend using Shoreline, and we would definitely come back here again.

Our third stay at Boat Yard View. It is a tad expensive, however very comfortable and so convenient for walking into the town. No doubt will be back again
