Best decision I made was going to the sourdough class. I love everything about it from the instructor Javi to the assistant and not to mention the dinner đ. I will definitely be going back for other classes. I promise you would not regret any class you take with Javi. She would make you feel comfortable.
Taking the Sourdough Masterclass at Vituperio was one of the best investments Iâve made in my baking journey. I had been searching for local baking classes that offer comprehensive technical training, but most of the ones I found were more about the experience than the educationâa fun weekend social event for couples and friends rather than serious learning. (When people show up with champagne and orange juice for mimosas, you know itâs not a rigorous training.)

Donât get me wrongâit was a social experience and we had fun, but the focus was on learning. Every participant was there to truly understand the craft, and the class itself was exceptionally well-run and organized.
Bottom line: Before this class, I had never even attempted to bake sourdough. After this class, I can successfully and consistently produce a good bake. That alone speaks volumes.
Oh, and the lunch was fantastic. Honestly, Iâd go back just for that! But more importantly, Iâll be going back for many more classes because Vituperio is the real dealâa personal, intimate, and professional culinary school.
The staff was warm and welcoming, and Javiera, the Head Baker, is a phenomenal teacher. Sheâs kind, thoughtful, sophisticated, and truly knows how to teach. What more could you ask for?

Javi and her team provide a great class in sourdough making. We learned about the precise measurements, the âwhyâsâ and many other factoids along with recipes for the sourdough, discard and even a wonderful farro salad!!
If youâre looking to brush up on your skills OR, like me, a beginner who knows nothing, youâre in great hands! Expect to come away with the knowledge of how to prepare & maintain a starter, create levain, create sourdough loaf, what to do with discard & the tools needed to become a pro!

My husband and I received a gift card to attend a class at Vituperio, and we were so excited to see a class where you could learn to make pasta AND a dessert. We had an easy experience getting to the kitchen, where there was ample parking. The kitchen itself feels homey and so clean, thanks to the amazing team! We made two kinds of ravioli, pumpkin rolls and tiramisu. The whole group divided and conquered, and we had a delicious dinner at the end. Bonus is that you can BYOB and there was fresh sourdough to snack on while we cooked. It was so much fun! What a great way to meet new people and learn something new in a relaxed and positive environment. Javi is a wonderful teacher and we look forward to going back again for another class!
