From start to finish we have had exceptional service. We are delighted with our combination garden studio which has been fitted and finished to a very high standard. The support from Harry in the office helping with all the options and the friendly and very efficient installation team including excellent provision for the electrical fitting has made the whole process totally hassle free. Highly recommended.
Open carport/garage combination - I can highly recommend Shields Garden Buildings if you are thinking of any kind of structure from a shed upwards. The website is excellent & a good starting point. A visit to the 'showroom' is recommended. Our first meeting was with Harry who provided some excellent initial advice & information & showed us the kind of structure we could expect when we visited their site. Paul the MD was also very helpful in dealing with the planning application. Both friendly & very professional and helped us through the initial stages until a final decision re specification made.
Also a big thank you to the excellent onsite team for their great efforts especially in the current high temperatures. Friendly, professional & very tidy at the end of each day. They clearly enjoy what they do & are very skilled ensuring a lovely finish.

We are truly delighted with our new garden room. We are currently in the throws of interior painting - a nice colour to compliment the window and door frames. The electrician is scheduled to come and make the final connection soon. Despite the awful weather we have experienced since it was constructed at the end of 2025 it looks so inviting and we are keen to get the outside area planted up and the furniture inside so that can really start to enjoy the space.
The build was fantastic with no hitches or hold-ups and the team were first-class.
We did our own research initially, making comparisons and obtaining other quotes. We spent time considering the dimensions and the use for the garden room in relation to the space we had. It is just great and looks like it has always been there. So glad we took the trip to Devon from Cornwall as it has really paid off.

From the very first time we made contact with Shields, when we visited them at North Tawton, they have dealt with us with complete professionalism, helpfulness and courtesy.
They took us through all the complex stages from initial design ideas to final construction magnificently, coping with all the unexpected and unwanted obstacles that arose during this process, from planning delays to our health and other issues.

We found Shields online and decided to visit the 'showroom' to look at the buildings before making a decision. Paul and Harry were exceptionally helpful and well informed and helped us choose the right size and style of garage and explained all the details (materials, ground preparation, time to prepare and build etc.). The team kept in touch with us throughout including doing a pre site visit to check everything was ready. The build team were brilliant: very professional and nice to have around and the electricians have done a great job finishing off - really neat installation and an electrical installation certificate provided within a week. Shields was recommended by a family member as, although they don't have a building themselves, they heard that Shields have a very good reputation for good quality and attractive buildings. I am based in North Somerset, so enquired regarding location and Shields were only too happy to help.
I cannot fault the customer service: from an initial site visit to going to look at the buildings to communications throughout. The selection process was easy, I had a firm picture in my head of what we needed and Shields took care of everything from there.

Can't speak highly enough of this company. It has been a long process due to our house move being delayed, but Shields have been very supportive throughout. Paul and Harry were a great help during the design phase and during the process of applying for planning permission.
