We just got back from a two day stay at the cabins. The cabin was beautiful! Very clean and well maintained. The grounds were gorgeous. There’s a fire pit with firewood nearby, a charcoal grill, and a lovely hot tub. The hot tub is on the porch, but there are privacy walls on two of the three sides so no one can easily see you. Many common necessities are stocked, like dish soap, some glasses, some towels, and trash bags. The grounds were quiet, and we got consistent communication from the grounds keepers checking in to see if we needed anything. We will definitely stay there again, and next time I want to check out the treehouse!

We stay this past weekend for our Anniversary. The cabin itself was nice and clean. We liked the fact that it was stock to be able to cook and not go out. Which also is good, since there isn't really anywhere to eat out at. However, we did have an issue with the hot tub. The hot tub itself, definitely has seen better days. The top is torn and the bar to open it was in bad shape. And you can see that the hot tub isn't well maintain. The first night we could only get 1/2 of the Jets to work, no matter what we tried. I called the next morning and someone did come out and got them working. But, there still wasn't much water pressure. The 2nd night we use it and after about 15mins I felt like I was getting stung all over, so had to get out. It calmed down after I rinsed off. The next morning (Sunday) I work up with itching and little bumps mainly on my one leg and part of my back. As the day went on, the more I got more. This morning, Monday, 1/2 my body is covered in the rash. I looked it up to see if I could get something from the Hot Tub water, since as I stated, I first noticed when I was in it the second night. I found you can get a skin infection caused by the Bacterium Pseudomonas aeruginosa. This happens when hot tubs are not kept at the proper chlorine, bromine or PH levels. I am hoping it goes away without a trip to doctor. I still gave the over all stay a 4/5 because other than the Hot Tub, everything else was nice.
Great place to stay. We were in cabin four. It was clean, spacious, and had everything that we needed. Communication with the host was very good. Beds were comfortable, shower was hot and had good water flow, nice fireplace in the living room and fire pit outdoors. Hot tub on the patio was wonderful. Great location.
Bathtub could use a couple non-skid decals as it was a little bit slippery. Coffee machine needs replacing because somebody burned it. One of the frying pan needs replacing because it was burnt. Outside hooks next to the hot tub to hang towels would be helpful.
All in all a great stay. Very reasonable price and beautiful place. Would definitely stay there again.

We stayed in the Treehouse Cabin (TH) for a kid-free weekend get-away. The TH is a cute 2-story cabin and has a fun swinging bridge that connects you to a private hot tub area and looks absolutely magical at night when it is all lit up. It is very well maintained and clean! This was a great choice for a "couple" get-away. I will say the TH is probably made for a younger couple because the winding staircase isn't ideal when getting up in the middle of the night for the RR. The scenery was gorgeous, the grounds were maintained, and it looked like each spot had a grill, fire pit, and they offered free firewood. The TH is the most secluded of all the Cabins, but the neighboring Cabins were still pretty close, and a family that was staying in a different cabin came on the porch after I had just gotten out of the hot tub because "the kids wanted to see the treehouse"... My biggest and probably only complaint about the TH would have to be the bed which was a mattress on a wooden platform and is just really uncomfortable. I woke up each morning with my lower back and hips hurting - thankful the hot tub! Maybe they could add a box-spring or get a thicker mattress so you don't feel that wooden platform that it's laid on. Overall great place right in the heart of the Shawnee and only 5 minutes from Garden of the Gods!

Me and my husband just got married June 29th 2025 and chose Shawnee Forest Cabins as our mini honeymoon get away. Safe to say we enjoyed every ounce of it. Everything was clean the cabin was perfect size for the 2 of us, we wanted something not super dated but not overly modern, just a nice cabin and this hit every aspect. The scenery was secluded and lovely and you’re at least an hr drive max from state parks, 7 minute drive from camel rock, there was so much to do we loved it and hope to be back for future anniversaries. <3
We had a pleasant stay in a quiet location. Very conveniently located. The bed was super comfortable. We enjoyed the air conditioning as well as the hot tub. Unfortunately the hot tub was not operating correctly. All the jets were not working. I was a little disappointed in the cookware as we make a lot of meals and that’s why we stay at places like this. In the picture on their website, they show at round deck chairs. That’s not exactly what was around. Our fire pit and the fire pit was kind of a mess upon arrival.
Everything was perfect! The treehouse cabin was fully stocked and had all the amenities while still feeling secluded and private. The location is very close to Garden of the Gods so we cold take some quick hikes or longer adventures. The suspension bridge from the cabin to the deck with the hot tub is lit with strands of lights creating a magical feel. We are looking forward to our next visit.

Very cute and had everything we needed for being able to do camping activities without actually having to camp. Close to garden of the gods and rim rock. Air conditioning worked great (it was very hot mid July) and it was easy to check in and out of. If you are big on cooking you may want to bring some of your own supplies, but the basics were provided.
We went for our anniversary. Stayed 2 nights. Cabin was absolutely beautiful. Very clean, very spacious. We will stay there again in the future. The hot tub was great. Nice private setting for the hot tub area. Grounds were very clean and well maintained. Tree of life was dangerous. Have to see to understand. Place was pretty well stocked on normal things. Each cabin has its own little fire pit and grill. Very close to a lot of things Shawnee National Forest has to offer. You will want more days there than what you have.
Great experience! Communication during booking, payment, and check-in was superb. Property is laid out nicely for easy parking and unloading your vehicle. Cabin is super cute and clean. Kitchen is appropriately stocked. They even provide utensils for s’mores on the fire pit! The hot tub is a nice amenity, but we didn’t use it. This property is located close to several well known hikes. Short hikes nearby are sand cave and stone face. Give them a try!
