We had a fantastic stay here. The team were extremely helpful, the lodge comfortable, and the view was unbeatable. The one thing to note is that the wall between the two bedrooms isn't up to the ceiling, so while you'll have visual privacy noise does travel through. Wasn't a problem for us though and we had a wonderful time.

What an amazing place with a deep and connecting history, being there with the group of men and women for the HIV retreat is something I will cherish forever. The staff is polite, helpful, and kind, and the organizers have got it down. Gotta give a shout out to the Healers as well.

We loved the peaceful balconies with hummingbird feeders, the cozy lounge for making s’mores, and the picnic tables scattered around the property. You can cook your own meals in the guest kitchen or have meals prepared for you — super convenient! Perfect for solo travelers, families, or retreats. It’s not just a place to stay — it’s a place to reconnect, recharge, and take in the beauty of the Rockies.

A beautiful family-run place with breathtaking views and wonderful people ☺ I was so lucky to come across this listing and I impulsively without even checking the property, chose it. And boy was I so happy to have gone there. Upon my arrival, the staff immediately made me feel welcome and part of the family. I was shown around the premises and was immediately awestruck by the wonderful views. This has to be the best place in town. It's high up on the hill but close enough that you could even walk downtown. At night, it's so quiet and quiet hours after 10:00 p.m. Are respected. That said, the walls are a bit thin so it's always smart to travel with ear plugs, but I slept soundly! The bed was super comfortable and I was just sad that I only got to stay there one night. There were even marshmallows to roast by the fireplace at night. The place is filled with such history and is family run and they really care about their guests. I made so many great connections just that one night it was incredible. You could probably spend a whole day just in the common area because there are so many interesting details and a bunch of books that you can just peruse. Or you can just sit outside and have your tea and just enjoy the view. There even is a space in the fridge where you can keep your perishables which I really appreciated. The shared bathrooms are spotless and I really felt immediately at home. I really hope to be back and hope that I can stay for longer next time! They even gave me a thank you note that was personalized for me. These are the details that exemplify local, family-run businesses. I will remember this place forever. All these details left indelible marks in my heart. It is indeed a special place! ☹ I liked everything. Note that checkout is a bit early at 10:00 a.m. But you can use the common area in case you want to have your tea or do some work before heading out for hiking. Also note that there are quiet hours after 10:00 until 7:00 a.m. and the walls are a bit thin so keep that in mind in case you need to do loud work after 10pm. These rules are what makes the place a delight because everyone can rest. Just good for you to know!

Beautiful serene location overlooking Grand lake and the North Inlet river. Peaceful quiet and simple, no frills but had all the basic necessities and a low price! Staff are helpful when needed but otherwise it’s quiet and private. Love the spiritual energy and history of this “for the little people” community feel!

I visited Shadowcliff almost every summer as a kid, I've brought my own kid here many times, and I still can't find the right words to describe it. It is peaceful, relaxing, unique, and amazing in every way. We're looking forward to visiting again soon.

There were bed bugs or bat bugs, and they completely downplayed it, I had bites all over my body which caused me health issues for almost two months due to the allergic reaction, not to mention treating my own home and hundreds of dollars of things I threw away. My friend had an allergic reaction and went to the ER. They downplayed it and convinced us to stay. Which I regret. I will never stay there again.
