Zoe is a very supportive mentor, providing valuable feedback on how I carried out my consult and written communication with clients. Being able to shadow Keeley during an in-person follow up session was invaluable too. Highly recommend Second Nature Behaviour to anyone seeking support during their behaviourist career.
We have recently had the pleasure to work with Megan to help our three year old maltipoo Harry with anxieties and reactivity which has quite honestly impacted on our lives and made us so sorry that Harry was not settled and happy and also that our joy in having this beautiful little dog in our lives was spoilt. Megan is so friendly, professional and absolutely knows what the problems are and ways to deal with them. There is no quick fix and it was clear that we had to put a lot of work in and actually still do. We were able to contact Second Nature and Megan in particular between visits about anything and we always received a helpful reply. A detailed plan was sent to us after our initial meeting and a report after each subsequent meeting detailing what we had achieved and the ongoing plan. We also have a comprehensive folder to refer to on so many situations in training and worries and how to approach and manage them. I cannot recommend Second Nature highly enough after we wasted money in the past on so called trainers. It is still a work in progress but we have a much calmer, happier little dog and we are calmer happier pawrents.
Zoe was a brilliant mentor to me from when I was still a behaviour student and barely knew anything to when I was gaining confidence working in the industry.
Being able to watch a variety of her consultations live and then discuss them afterwards was incredibly helpful and challenged me (in a good way). Thanks Zoe!

Our vet referred our dog, Trigger, to Dr Zoe Demery after we noticed a change in his behaviour. He had begun to show signs of fear anxiety with other dogs, including, barking, lunging and running at them. Zoe helped us to understand Trigger’s body language and taught us lots of tips and tricks to deal with his behaviour and to help him to return to his previously calm self. We can’t recommend her highly enough - we have our old dog back!
Zoe at Second Nature Behaviour is a phenomenal mentor. She’s empathic, knowledgeable and experienced. She’s also super approachable which means our sessions never feel like an imposition or a chore and I look forward to our meetings. I’ve learned lots working with her and I highly recommend her services.

For the last year, Dr. Zoe Demery has been working with me and my dog Bella on separation anxiety and reactivity. I moved from the USA to the UK and back to the USA, and Zoe has stayed in touch and continued to coach me on how to improve Bella's behavior and make her life less stressful. From the moment Bella and I met Zoe, I could tell she was a true animal lover and cared about Bella. As we worked together, I saw the depth of knowledge that Zoe has. She understands dogs and how they think and her positive-reinforcement training methods are very successful. She gave me a very thick workbook that has so many training ideas, not only for the issues that Bella struggles with, but also other fun things I can teach her. Zoe, I really appreciate you sticking with me and Bella even though we moved far away. You are absolutely the best!
Zoe is a very responsible dog trainer. Our dog Toby had been a nervous dog since he arrived England, and we had found numerous dog trainers, but they are not helpful with Toby’s situation. However, Zoe had weekly check ins with us, along with regular check ins via WhatsApp. Zoe also helped Toby with his nervousness around people, and he is a lot more calmer around others now.
I recently used Second Nature Behaviour for my dog's anxiety issues, and I couldn't be more pleased with the service provided by Dr. Zoe Demery and her team. Zoe's deep understanding of animal behaviour and her compassionate approach made a significant difference for us.
From the initial consultation, Zoe was incredibly thorough, taking the time to understand our specific situation and tailoring her advice accordingly. Her methods are both evidence-based and kind, focusing on positive reinforcement, which really resonated with us. Over a few sessions, we saw a remarkable improvement in our dog's behaviour, and Zoe provided us with the tools and confidence to continue working with him on our own.
The team's support didn't end with the sessions; they were always available for follow-up questions and additional advice. This level of dedication and professionalism is truly outstanding. I highly recommend Second Nature Behaviour to any pet owner facing behavioural challenges with their pets. They truly care about the well-being of the animals and their owners.
I have been using Zoe’s mentoring services since 2020 and I find them invaluable. Zoe herself is a very supportive, welcoming and encouraging person who helps to build your confidence as well as your knowledge and she dedicates a lot of her time to trying to help others succeed in the pet behaviour industry. She offers a wide range of support for different stages of your journey towards certification as a clinical animal behaviourist, both in-person and virtual and can offer a wide range of cases for you to be part of for both dogs, cats and birds. I think working with a mentor is an important part of becoming a competent practitioner and would thoroughly recommend Zoe to anyone thinking of training to become a clinical animal behaviourist.

I would like to thank Zoe for all the support provided me throughout our mentoring relationship over the period I was studying in the UK, three years ago. Our mentoring sessions have had an incredible impact on my professional growth as a behaviourist. I am very grateful to have been allowed to learn from your experience.
I have been Zoe's mentee for over three years now and I would thoroughly recommend the experience to any budding CABs out there! Zoe is a kind mentor who is not only passionate and knowledgeable about behavioural science but also about helping her mentees to be the very best version of themselves. My favourite thing about mentoring with Zoe is that she has a way of challenging you and helping you to grow whilst also making your feel incredibly supported. She always has time to chat through challenging cases in a one to one session and hosts regular group sessions to help you network with other mentees. If I could give more than five stars, I would!
Zoe has mentored me over the last two years as I’ve built up my practical experience of behaviour consultations. Her feedback and advice throughout the process of carrying out consultations, writing reports and following-up with clients have been invaluable. The supportive WhatsApp group that she set up to enable her mentees to communicate with her and each other has also been very useful for me, and enabled me to get to know other behaviourists with varied backgrounds, and to discuss cases with them. I’m also very grateful for the encouragement Zoe gave me as I prepared to be assessed by the accreditation committee of the Association for the Study of Animal Behaviour, and her delight when I became accredited as a Certificated Clinical Animal Behaviourist for dogs.

Zoe is not only a brilliant certificated clinical animal behaviourist, but an incredibly knowledgable and supportive mentor to those currently gaining clinical experience towards CCAB accreditation. Zoe has helped me to focus in on the areas of behaviour that most interest me and that I feel I can most effectively help and support owners and their animals towards improved welfare and quality of life. She has helped me to focus on my strengths and given me the confidence to embrace and develop them. I highly recommend Zoe as a mentor.
I have been very impressed with Zoe and her team at Second Nature and now they see all my behaviour referrals. Their client communication, follow up support and their passion for what they do is wonderful. As a referring vet, i want my clients to feel happy with whom I have referred them to and I can honestly say every one has been very pleased!
