As I experienced from the previous appointments, it was a nice facility with all of hi-tech equipments, friendly and knowledgeable staff members. Mar 12, I woke with a toothache. The tooth was under my bridge. Instant panic at the bill. I walked into Sand Mine with dread as I had the same issue last year at a different dentist office and they wanted $7500-$10,000 to remove the bridge, give me a root canal and leave me toothless for 6 weeks for the new bridge. I opted for the antibiotic, the pain went away and I dodged a bullet. But now the infection/absess was back. Dr. Nirh came in with a big smile, talked calmly, showed me my x-rays and exactly what was going on. Basically, the infection lays dormant and will continue to return if not treated properly. Simply, I need a root canal which can be performed through the bridge with a small hole. Not ripping/sawing/breaking the bridge off as I was told at the other dentist office. I do have to have this part done with a specialist right down the street next week, but what a relief! I was prescriped Ibuprofen and Amoxicillian and today feel some pain relief. My cost yesterday: $0 for the xrays (covered by insuarnce) and my co-pay for the refilling of the "hole" after the procedure will be $145. I'm not sure what the root canal will cost, but I'm sure not $10,000. The staff were great, Dr Nirh was calming and layed back and I would highly recommmend this dental office! I am 62 years old. Excellent experience!!!

My appointment was canceled, and I was not notified at all. The front desk stated that a text message was sent out; however, I never received any text notification. I drove an hour to the office only to be told that my appointment had been canceled. A simple phone call to inform me of the cancellation would have been greatly appreciated. Time is very valuable, and this situation could have easily been avoided with proper communication. Please address this issue, as this experience has made me reconsider continuing services with this office.

After some bad dentists and results, I haven't been to a dentist in 20 years for fear and I need a lot done. Everyone from the front desk check in to the back offices were warm and caring. They were helpful and explanatory but never pushy. Instead they asked what I would like done and also HOW I would like to approach it, in regard to both methods and time. Despite the pain I'm in, it was the best dental visit I've ever had. Highly recommend the Sand Mine Dentistry team.
