Following a stressful period at work I decided I needed a different approach to managing the challenge's of work and everyday life. I had been to one of David's talks on stress and burnout and was really impressed with him. So I booked last minute and spent 5 wonderful days in Totnes. It was my first time attending anything like this and I am so pleased I did. Everyone was lovely, I spent time alone and with others, as I wished, we had daily talks and meditations and yoga.. lovely food and the sun shone! David shared his Buddhist teachings which are so relevant to today on how we live our lives. Manus yoga was a real treat every morning.. highly recommend to anyone who wants to take a step out of their days to day and reconsider how they view themselves and the world around them- it was a joy!

Your companion book A wonderful little pocket book, each reflection is condensed into one page, which makes it easy to follow and digest. It's great to have it by your side, as you can dip into it for a little reminder of the teachings.Every time I open it, there's a different teaching that resonates with me, depending on what I'm going through at the time.I feel David's warmth and kindness coming through the text with each reflection. A perfect companion to have with you, whether it's with you at work, bedside table, trips or holidays. For me, the small size is perfect to carry with me for my hiking adventures 😊

Calm mind, Open heart, a resource to create a happier and more fulfilling life In the difficult and sometimes dangerous times we live, David’s little book provides the reader with support and strategies to cope with the challenges we might face. Offering 108 brief but powerful messages, based on Buddhist and psychological teachings, as well as his own personal experience, the reader benefits from learnings to help with daily life. I found that these 108 are Gems that can be treasured and are always there for support.

Enjoy the benefits of a Calm Mind and an Open Heart A perfect companion in pocket or purse and at my bedside. Calm Mind, Open Heart offers words of wisdom and perspective on many of the complexities that tax my mind. Each page offers food for reflection and meditation, all written in David Oromith's accessible style. A page a day, at bedtime, shuts down the mind clutter of the day and prepares me for sleep. I am delighted by this little gem of Buddhist wisdom and recommend it to anyone who values a calm mind and an open heart. [Yangchen]

I can’t recommend this book enough! I can’t recommend this book enough! It’s become a staple in my daily routine. What I love most is how flexible it is: you can read it cover-to-cover, or just flip to a random page and find exactly what you need to hear in that moment. It’s incredibly user-friendly and breaks down Buddhist concepts into simple, one-page bites. I love how relatable and accessible it is. Suitable for Buddhists and non-Buddhists. A great gift for yourself or friends/family needing a bit more peace!

If you are looking for a practical resource on Buddhist Philosophy, try this little gem. A lovely resource to turn to when life presents a challenge, or it can be used to consider a little 'life lesson' when meditating. Lama David's approach to Buddhist philosophy is approachable and practical, and his writings convey his warmth, humour and compassion for fellow human beings.

Practical gentle wisdom for everyday life Lama David Oromith is a wise, humble teacher who radiates kindness and truly walks his talk. He is also an articulate and skilled writer. This book is a collection of 108 pearls of wisdom, just a page each, that are easy to read and meditate on. They are deceptively simple, yet touch the core of living a meaningful and joyful life. Each page is food for thought that can be practically applied. I highly recommend this book. I have bought two copies so far and will be getting more 😊

A Must Buy, Highly Recommended I’ve known Lama David for many years and the same warmth, kindness and humility I’ve experienced in person and online truly shines through every page.I love flicking through the book first thing in the morning, stopping randomly and then applying the teachings for that day. And if I stray which I inevitably do, I gently guide myself back. Each page offers honest, easy to understand teachings that land deeply and stay with you. This book feels like being gently guided by someone who genuinely cares.I’m very grateful ❤️

A brilliant little book! This book is an absolute gem, if you are Buddhist or not, it is such a useful compendium of reflective thinking to carry around in your pocket. There are many 'bite sized' books drawing on Buddhist thought, this isn't one of those! David has clearly contemplated on each reflection , bringing his own distinctive 'take' with careful insight, bringing real richness.I really wanted this book after reading David's last book, as his writing is easy, straight to the point and hits life's challenges right at the heart centre, I wasn't disappointed. I am purchasing three more copies for each of my children...need I say more?

A book for you that will benefit many ! This is such a brilliant book for those interested in Buddhism or not. It’s a pocket sized book (fabulous to carry with you everywhere). Don’t be deceived by its size, it’s a BIG book! I’ve already orderded more for my family and friends…’let it be a chicken’, ‘what’s in your basket?’ … you really have to read and share this book.
