I just had my dropped kerb done by RJB Paving and I'm ever so pleased with their work.
I found RJB Paving after doing a Google search for dropped kerb contractors in the Essex area and, based on the positive reviews, I sent them a message requesting for a cost estimate. I was contacted by Beau the following day, who provided me with an estimate based Essex Council's approval email and the pictures I had sent to him. Beau then arranged to come over in a couple of days to take measurements in order to put together a formal quotation for me. In my search for a contracter, I did speak to several companies but selected this company to do the works over others because it seemed the most efficient and professional.
It was my first time going through this process and I had a lot of questions, which Beau, being very knowledgeable, was more than happy to answer. The process of RJB Paving applying for the STAT pack from Essex Council and them completing the works was quicker than I expected (total of five weeks).
The RJB team was very experienced and worked well together. The price was competitive and the team had all the necessary equipment to do the job. I was very impressed when the RJB team turned up (on time) on the day with a full team of 6 or 7 men, lorries proudly bearing their company name and logo, and all their equipment at the ready. The team wore matching high vis vests bearing their company logo and they certainly looked the part!
What was estimated to take two days to complete, was done in one day because the team worked tirelessly and stayed past their usual working day to make sure the dropped kerb was finished in time for me. The work was completed to a very high standard and, after they were done, the team did a great job of tidying and cleaning up the road and pavement.
If anyone is looking for a contractor to do their dropped kerb, then I cannot recommend this company enough. The team is organised, they turn up on time and do what they say they will. This is a straight up and reliable family run business, that takes pride in its work.
