Verified Company
The most disorganized and stressful experience. I hired Rise Movers for a move on October 3 at 10am. They did not show up. After multiple calls back and forth, they told me the move was at 2pm, when I had the confirmation email of 10am. Once a new team was dispatched, the driver called and told me they were 29 minutes away. This was at 10:47am. At 11:30, they still did not show up. I called them back to which I was told they were now 19 minutes away because they had to switch their crew. By the time they showed up it was 12pm. I had documents to sign upon arrival where the remainder of the cost was due. I authorized ONLY the final payment amount. They went ahead and preauthorized $1500 on my credit card. NOT what I signed and authorized. I had to call back. They did not answer, twice. So I blocked my number and then they picked up the phone and I was able to address the amount that was preauthorized. Maybe next time inform the customer you will be authorizing MORE than the discussed amount, not making them sign for the payment and charging more. This was a stressful situation for a few pieces of furniture that needed to be moved. My dad and I even moved as much of the small things we could ourselves before the movers arrived to help this process go smoother. The movers themselves were kind and efficient but their head office is awful. I was supposed to get a call from a manager on Monday October 5, to which I was told they were busy and to send an email. I am beyond upset. Do yourselves a favour and use a different company, and one that can apologize when they have made a mistake.
