We worked with Armani after adopting a puppy who had been through a house fire and may have been abused. He was extremely fearful, very skittish around new people, growling and barking in the house, and constantly on edge. Our puppy stayed with Armani for four weeks, and the progress has been incredible. She was patient, calm, and truly understood how to work with a fearful, reactive dog. She focused on building trust and confidence, and it shows. Since coming home, he is much more comfortable meeting new people and far less reactive in the house. One of the biggest changes is that we can now take him to places like pet stores and Home Depot, which would have been impossible before. We can also have people over to our house which is huge growth for him. He has also learned solid obedience commands and walks much better on a leash. Armani also provided ongoing training tips and drills so we could continue reinforcing everything at home, which has made a huge difference. We’re extremely grateful for the care and dedication Armani gave our puppy and would highly recommend her, especially for dogs who need extra patience and understanding.

Ridgeside K9 was very professional. They did an amazing job training my dog and his behavior and level of obedience is outstanding. They were very thorough during turnover. They provided all the tips and guidance we needed to maintain his service dog level of training and behavior and even supplied an e-collar to use as needed as well as very clear directions for its use. They also offered continued support as we need it moving forward. I would recommend anyone with a need for training to contact them, Shelbie and Caleb are true professionals and fantastic at what they do.

We sent our 4 year old golden retriever/husky mix to Shelby and Caleb for their 3 week program because he was having a hard time with fears, loud noises and needed a refresh on commands. He did SO well and came back with a great eating schedule and a brand new e collar that he listens to amazingly. He also learned how to walk better on his leash. MOST importantly though, it’s what my husband and I took away from the training. We learned how to be on the same page with how to speak to our dog, how to guide him through any insecurities and redirect his brain so that we can help him navigate situations he wouldn’t normally be comfortable in. The training team also went out of their way to meet with us on a separate occasion to get our dog more comfortable with his leash and walking outside and they have been so responsive whenever we have needed to ask questions about our dog and our training. It was money very well spent and I personally feel like he is more comfortable in his skin and we are better dog parents because of him doing this program! Couldn’t be happier with the results.

Caleb and Shelbie are absolutely incredible! I brought my pug, Boomer, to them for training, and the results were beyond anything I expected. Boomer went from stubborn and distracted to obedient, confident, and so much easier to handle. Their approach is patient, positive, and perfectly tailored to Boomer’s personality. They communicated with me through every step, gave me clear guidance to continue training at home, and truly cared about Boomer’s progress. What an amazing experience our 2-year-old shepherd mix, Penny had with Shelbie over her month-long stay. We also had just as great of an experience with Shelbie too, when she did the turn-around training. Penny was originally only supposed to be there for 3 weeks, but with a death in our family, Shelbie was kind and gracious enough to board her and continue training. Prior to training and boarding, Penny was often reactive on walks when using a leash due to fear. After returning, walks are now way more enjoyable and less stressful, her rapid recall off-leash has eased our fears tremendously, and her obedience is far more consistent the first time a directive is given. With all of Shelbie's hard work, it set both us and Penny up for success in our futures and we could not be more grateful. I highly recommend Ridgeside K9 Central Maryland and cannot imagine our girl any other way.

I sent my 2 year old female pitbull to the 3 week board and train program for behavior modification/reactivity. Before training Zoe was basically uncontrollable and very stubborn to training. As I told Shelbi, who is wonderful by the way, I never wanted to send my dog away for training. I really wanted to be apart of her training and be hands on so this was hard for me to let go. I’d seen the horror stories about how professionals in the pet industry can mistreat some of them and I feared that she’d come back worse. One night I called Shelbi and we talked for at least an hour about the program, their training methods, and why she got into the business in the first place. By this point I was already certain this was the place I was going to send Zoe to, but after that phone call I had no doubt in my mind about anything anymore. I knew this was the program for her and all my worries kind of melted away. Zoe is my first dog and I’ve made a lot of mistakes from listening to the wrong advice. Guys, Zoe came back a completely different dog. Before training Zoe had very high energy and quite prone to overexcitement it was impossible to get her to focus. She barked obsessively for hours at a time kennel or not. Zoe is so calm now I honestly can’t believe she’s the same dog. Don’t get me wrong, she’s still my high energy sassy girl, but not uncontrollably. I’m so incredibly happy and grateful for all their hard work and this was the best Christmas gift I could’ve ever asked for. I can’t thank them enough! And if you’re still hesitant about signing your dog up for training, don’t be. The Ridgeside team not only does a phenomenal job during the board and train, but after your dog completes it, they still offer lifetime support. You will never have to figure this out on your own anymore! The support will always be there when you need it. That’s the best part to me, because I still get to be hands on with her training. You will not regret sending your dog here, and your dog WILL be treated with quality care and training and will have a blast!

Our dog was being disobedient and pulling on the leash, when being walked throughout our community. Caleb and Shelby came to our home and picked up our dog. At which time, they began training our female Rottweiler. She is now a completely different dog. We can walk her off leash and listens on command. I highly recommend this company to anyone. We are so grateful for finding Caleb and Shelbie for our Belgian Malinois Zeus. Zeus has fear aggression centered around any person that is not me or my wife. Caleb and Shelbie were patient and respectful with the dog and us. Caleb and Shelbie regularly go above and beyond. We now have confidence to take Zeus out in public and that Zeus is well cared for when we go on vacation. More importantly Zeus loves seeing Caleb and Shelbie which tells us they are the best as his stamp of approval is rarely given to people!

Shelbie and Caleb are incredible. They transformed my dog (who needed a lot of help with impulse control, basic obedience, ability to be around food, recall) and gave me all the tools I needed to maintain his training. I can’t recommend Shelbie and Caleb highly enough. They’ve done a great job with both of our dogs, including an older dog who had shown some aggression issues in the past. The training has been excellent and our dogs love them. At the end of the training, Shelbie spent a long time with us teaching us how to keep the instruction going. They’ve both been very accessible for ongoing questions. We’ve referred several friends to them and highly recommend Ridgeside K9 Central Maryland.

I can’t recommend Shelbie and Caleb highly enough. They’ve done a great job with both of our dogs, including an older dog who had shown some aggression issues in the past.
