Brian did an outstanding job training our lab, Harper. His years of experience working with and handling K9s really shows in his in-depth knowledge of dogs and their behaviors, and it gave us a lot of confidence in the process. He kept in touch with excellent daily updates, shared clear training videos so we could maintain her progress, and always responded quickly to every question we had. He truly cared for Harper like she was his own, and since coming home she has been amazing—calm, well-mannered, and a joy to be around.
Ok real talk here. We love our chaotic Weimaraner but being a big girl with lots of energy and love to give with young kids it was hard to get her to listen with her stubborn diva attitude haha. She jumped, pulled, chewed on everything and everyone haha. Our friends recommended Zach and I was skeptical because I didn’t think it was possible to tame a breed that’s known for hyper activity. Everyone told me to trust the process so I did.
WOW WOW WOW!! We opted for 3 week training and were blown away. How she listens to commands, respects us and what we want her to do, doesn’t pull on the leash. She even not going on the couch, not jumping even when she is excited to see her brothers!

We couldn't have been happier with RSK9 Rachel as our pup's trainer during her 3-week board and train. Rachel was absolutely wonderful with sending us daily check-ins and photos. Shannon worked with our 7 year old Golden Retriever, Ellie, for two weeks in September 2025. Ellie had extensive training previously in a lengthy board and train when she was shy of two years old (in NY), and was in need of a refresher ahead of us expecting a new family member.
Shannon was communicative, detailed, and clearly loved working with Ellie. The time spent at the end to practice commands and use the e-collar was valuable for my husband who didn't experience Ellie's initial training with an e-collar.
We're able to confidently take her off leash again, she no longer jumps up at people, and she knows how to stay in "place" safely on her bed when we're outside by the fire pit, among other refreshed manners and commands. I could not have asked for a better trainer than Ariel Fox to teach Maddie advanced obedience and impulse control. I was very nervous to send my Golden Doodle away for 2 weeks with someone I didn’t know, however this concern was alleviated imediately. From the time Maddie arrived in West Virginia, Ariel made Maddie feel like she was a part of her family. She constantly sent updates and videos of Maddie throughout her 2 week training period. And I cannot say enough about the results. Before training, Maddie would pull on her leash and could not sit still. However after training, Maddie is completely obedient. Lastly, Ariel was extremely helpful in the turnover phase when returning Maddie to my home. She gave me all the goals to reinforce what she learned at training, and I have no doubt Maddie’s great behavior will continue!

Kenny and Sarah took great care of our 4 mo old Goldendoodle. He was in the 2 week board and train program and left a puppy with no manners to one who has learned so much in a short period of time. Still has his puppy personality we love but is able to rein it in when told now. We got daily updates with photos and videos which we looked forward to everyday. Helped us to know what he was learning and helped when we missed him so much. After the 2 weeks, we got a very thorough training for us at our house to learn everything they worked with him on. They were super patient with us and answered all our questions. Sharing my review of Ridgeside Dog Training is easy - it was 5 stars all around including professionalism, dog care and boarding, communication, final results. We couldn’t be more pleased. Writing about it is harder because there is so much to say. First off, we were lucky to get James as the handler and trainer. His experience with dog training is deep, personal and his commitment is clear. He actually shows real respect for and understanding of each dog; after all, they’re different breeds and from a variety of circumstances. Per our standards, he kept to our dog’s regular diet throughout. Ours was a rambunctious 3+ yr old German Shepherd/Husky/Aussie Shepherd mix being boarded for 3 weeks of intense training. Although our dog came to Ridgeside at an older age, James was able to work miracles on behavior; I think he’s actually part dog-whisperer. James would probably be excellent with young dogs or rescues equally. He kept us up to date with almost daily photos and videos of the training and our dog’s health and responses. That was reassuring to see the progress. In the end, it comes down to habits and behaviors. We now have a new dog, easy to walk and control in our neighborhood, no longer barking or pulling. In fact, one young boy walked up and asked to pet him. So yeah, he passed the test, Ridgeside and James deserves the full credit.

From start to finish Ridgeside canine has been everything and more than anyone could expect from a trainer. Walking into Ridgeside you can tell just by the people that you meet, the surroundings that are in place for success with your fur babies. You can be assured that, regardless of what your fur babies situation is, whether it be anger, insecurity, anxiety, a runner, a winer, barker, no matter what the situation they have a cure for it. In turn they teach you all the skills that you need to have nothing but success with your fur babies . I worked with Berry and Brandy two extremely amazing confident people who not only reassured me that with time, effort and the tools given I too could control Graham with love and confidence . Because of Berry and Brandy, I am now able to keep Mr. Graham at home with a family that loves him very much, because before he came to Ridgeside, there was a good chance that I was going to have to rehome him because Graham is 170 pound European great Dane, who’s not just big he was extremely anxious, overactive, it’s like having a bulldozer in your house without a driver at times and simply an all-around goofball that just wanted to do his own thing. Because I needed to get him under control, not because he was going to hurt someone out of anger, but because he is an extremely high strong European great Dane who requires not only love and affection, but firm loving guidance from his owners who could control him with confidence. I assure you that there were many questions that I asked that I thought to myself oh my God they must think I’m dumb, but not once did Berry or Brandy make me feel anything other than a mom to a dog who is very much loved and wants to do the best for him. Both of them were calm and friendly as if we had known each other forever, which made the experience even better. They brought my dog into their home And instilled everything that he needs to succeed, not only with his family, but strangers and many dog pals that he may encounter. There were many times while they were showing me the things that I needed to do and instill in Graham that I questioned myself and felt stupid. I wasn’t sure if I could do it, but Berry himself took the time that was needed to make sure that I understood exactly what it was I needed to do and follow through with. Brandy on a daily basis continued to keep me up-to-date with Graham and how well he was doing with Berry and her. She followed the food schedule that was given to him his vitamins, etc. she was amazing. I assure you thatGrahan is bigger than I myself and Brandy and when I saw her handling my dog, I thought wow there is hope 😌 Graham met their family and they brought him into their home as if he was there’s which made me feel much much more comfortable. Ridgeside definitely is filled with lots of love from trainers who deal with many different issues from our fur babies that they take care of lots and lots of experience from trainers to reassure everyone who encounters them comes out with nothing but a positive outlook. And the hope that they can instill the values and skills needed to keep a dog happy along with his family. You see, to some people dogs aren’t just dogs they’re not just pets. They genuinely are a part of the family and hold as much value and importance as anyone or any other human being. I would recommend them and trust me when I tell you when things go wrong, they take the time to straighten it out with understanding love and compassion for the fur-babies that you love. The friendship and respect that you have developed will continue to stay there as they will still be there anytime that you need them even if it’s just to call and say hey did I clip the sound right or do I have the sound volume up enough etc. they genuinely are a dog‘s best friend.

We had been debating about trying the board and train with our pup Jupiter. He already had such a sweet disposition, got along with other dogs and people and we didn't want that to change. But, he also pulled us aggressively on a leash and only listened when he felt like it. Shannon did an incredible job with him!! We highly recommend her. Her photos, videos and constant communication through the 2 week board and train was fantastic. She taught him so much and we are so incredibly thankful. After the 2 weeks of training, Jupiter can now be walked on a leash either in the heel position or on a loose leash walk. His recall off leash is my favorite part! We can bring him to the beach and play and he returns without me worrying whether he'll return when called. We continue to keep up with his training and it's paying off. Shannon spent 3 hours with me at drop off and it was exactly what I needed to feel comfortable in using his learned commands. Our dogs went to Ridgeside because we were desperate to help reestablish a relationship between our two female Goldens who had inexplicably begun fighting with each other, sometimes causing real injury to themselves and us. RSK9 is an impressive facility with a team as equally impressive! I sent my boy Tuck to them after we tried other training programs without permanent success. Growing out of his puppy temperament, he became over protective and constantly anxious of everything- his need to protect at all times led to stressful walks and we were avoiding both people and dogs. Since our first outreach to RSK9, every interaction we've had has been great! The girls at the check-in desk, the kennel techs, our trainer Sydney- all have been so wonderful! I saw pictures of Tuck's progress every day and the turnover was full of great information! I have seen such a difference in him since he's come home- he is much more relaxed and receptive during walks and while I know he will always be protective, Sydney has been amazing in helping me understand how to read Tuck and stay in control. He absolutely loves her and I am beyond grateful for her help!! We're politely passing people and dogs every day and he is such a happy pup!
