Renaissance Fabrics is a great source for reasonably priced, hard to find materials for historical costumers. This last time I ordered some hem tape and cotton sateen, and received them a few days later (they're very quick with their shipping, too!) As a newer costumer, I appreciate how they list what eras or types of projects that a particular fabric or trim may be good for.
I had some patterns printed by Renaissance Fabrics printing service. They we done promptly and I really enjoyed having an way to get an online pattern printed instead of having to tape all those pieces together. This is a fantastic offering from them and I have used it at least three times.

Really amazing, quality fabrics and I love making my traditional Chinese-style dresses and shirts out of their material. I had a fabric delayed and the team was so kind to send me another one, as well as a small gift card. Would highly recommend!

Love this shop! I've yet to be disappointed by anything I've bought from them. I'm a tailor specializing in historical reproductions and this is one of the best shops I've found for sourcing period accurate fabrics and materials. They also have a really beautiful selection of trims and notions. Their organdy is excellent and very stiff. And for my fellow stay & corset makers, I've been very happy with the quality of their coutil. Also one of the few shops I've found with cotton velveteen that looks & feels wonderful. Very reasonable prices and their shipping is always prompt and orders are well packed. One of these days when I'm in the Bay area I'd love to finally stop by their brick & mortar location!

The staff at Rennaisance Fabrics are so kind, patient and once, when there was a problem, which was my bad, they were so patient - I will always buy from them, even tho Im in Australia and the shipping costs and currency conversion still make the cheaper fabrics very expensive for me. But it makes me love and appreciate the fabrics even more. They fill orders asap, and have excellent quality fabrics. My only grief is I cant afford more fabric!
