I can't even begin to put this experience into words. Our guide Josh was absolutely amazing. He was incredibly patient, knowledgeable, and comforting when nerves got high and his jokes are top notch. We looked at so many rappelling companies in the area and I'm extremely grateful that we chose Red Desert. They gained a loyal customer.

We had 2 families with 5 kids aged 9-13. Went out with Jake and Melissa who were absolutely wonderful. Both were amazing guides and great with all the kids. Jake was incredibly calm and talked everyone through the repels - prob the best canyoneering guide we’ve ever had! Melissa was so kind with the kids and kept everyone engaged. We even had the opportunity to split up the group to do harder vs easier repels depending on what people wanted to do. Fantastic experience!

Instead of getting gifts for each other we try to give each other a memory. A canyoneering trip was our Christmas gift to each other this year. What a spectacular fun memory we created today! Our guide, Jack was super personable, lots of experience, seemed to be very safe and really wanted us to enjoy our selves. We would highly recommend Red Desert!! Jack was hands-down one of the best guides we’ve ever had. From the moment we met him in Zion, it was clear we were in expert hands. He struck the perfect balance between professionalism and fun—calm, knowledgeable, encouraging, and genuinely excited to share the experience with us.
Rappelling and canyoneering with Jack was both thrilling and confidence-boosting. He explained everything clearly, prioritized safety at every step, and somehow made even the most intimidating drops feel doable (and epic). On top of that, he knew the area incredibly well and added so much context about Zion that made the whole adventure even more special.
If you’re considering rappelling or canyoneering in Zion, do yourself a favor and go with Jack. This was a highlight of our Utah trip and an experience we’ll be talking about for years. Couldn’t recommend him more!

Buddy of mine and Josh (tour guide), took me canyoneering! Definitely an introduction to a fun hobby. Josh accommodated us perfectly, was super knowledgeable about zion’s landmarks, had a couple cool stories, and played the perfect role of a third brake. Super down to earth guy, and made my first run ever super enjoyable. No fear when he’s behind the safety rope! 10/10 experience. P.S. Josh will rappel down faster than your eyes can catch up.

Fantastic trip with my daughters!
One of my daughters specifically asked to come canyoneering in the Zion area for the holidays. After a bunch of research, we chose Red Desert Adventures because we wanted a private and personalized tour. The front office answered a ton of questions about the trips and timing and anything else we can think of. Our guide, Jack, was fantastic. One of my daughters has no fear of heights and was jumping while rappelling from the beginning. My other daughter was much more reticent. He made sure that they were both comfortable. He was talkative with them and engaging. For one of my daughters, who is into photography, Jack helped her learn how to use her camera better because he had been a professional photographer. We cannot say enough, good things about this company. So glad we chose them!

Booked a canyoneering trip while visiting Zion. Blew the tourist hikes (narrows, angels landing) away, and it wasn’t close!! Went to Lamb’s Knoll by suggestions of our guide, Melissa (Mel). She was so great with our family - Dad, former college athlete, fatter now - Mom, used to rappel back in her 20’s… - two sons 12 and 13 that had the time of their lives!
All four of us said that it was the highlight of the trip! Ask for Mel, and tip her well! Hibachi!! Hot Dog! (Ask Mel)

Highly recommend!! We did the north end of the Oak Creek Canyon full day tour with canyoneering, via Ferrata and a zip line. Tremendous experience! Eric was helpful in the booking process. Our guide, Sonny, was knowledgeable and reassuring to us as we tackled the anxiety inspiring rappels and via Ferrata climb. He emphasized safety and was an enjoyable conversationalist. He loves his work and it shows. I would add that even the drive to and from the site was georgeous. My sister and I are 49 and 57 years old, respectively. We are in good physical shape which is important for the hike out and the via Ferrata climb itself.

Jack is a great guide. We had an amazing 8-hour trip with him. We appreciated his safety measures; local knowledge; and his engaging conversation. Highlight of trip to Zion. Highly recommend.
Family rappelling with Jake - 5* experience
Super fun morning with Jake as our guide heading into Snake Alley for a family rappelling adventure - we all loved it (2 adults, 4 kids 11/9/8/6). What a fun experience. Jake was an excellent guide; knowledgable, fun, interesting to chat to and great with the kids who all warmed to him. We tackled 4 different rappels and really enjoyed all of them, culminating in a 100ft descent which even our little 6 year old (<45lb) managed by himself. The scenery in the slot canyon was stunning and we all particularly enjoyed the very narrow section to scramble through. The adventure was fantastic, our only gripe was that the instructions for getting to the meeting point were scanty to say the least - would have been great to have an email with all arrangements in the few days before the trip. Also would be great to have a pin on Google Maps; typing in “Red Desert Adventure” currently just takes you to the whole of the town of Virgin! For anyone who is similarly stuck - we met in the parking lot on the other side of the main road to Fairfield Inn and Suites in Virgin.
