Mike and his team are amazing. After a great experience with exterior painting on a rental duplex last year, we hired RAKZ for interior painting on the same dwelling. This was an extremely challenging project, involving scheduling and working around the needs of the residents, one with significant health issues. Mike and team displayed outstanding sensitivity to the residents' needs and desires and worked their butts off to meet an aggressive schedule and minimize disruption to the residents. The residents expressed deep appreciation for Mike's and crew's consideration and professionalism. When we discovered unexpected tiling, plumbing and ceiling issues on the second day of the project, Mike pivoted quickly, called in a respected plumbing subcontractor, replaced some rotted framing and got both bathrooms restored at a reasonable cost WITHOUT JEOPARDIZING THE SCHEDULE. I regularly got calls from Mike, still on-site at 9 or 10pm local time, making sure the work was done well and on time, and taking good care of the residents, with concern for their health, well-being and peace of mind.
Managing these kinds of projects remotely is difficult and stressful, but working with Mike was great. The key ingredient was the level of trust that we felt in Mike and his team.
We will happily work with Mike and the RAKZ team again and strongly recommend his work!

I can’t say enough good things about Mike and his painting crew. When I originally reached out, Mike responded right away. We set up an appointment over the phone. He came out. I expressed my concerns to him and he listened. He had an estimate the next day and put me on the schedule in two weeks. He showed up on time did the job, exactly as he told me he would do. A year ago Mike and his team did great work on our interior painting, and we invited him back to do our exterior deck, sanding, painting, repairing, staining, and he gave a great price and went above and beyond our expectations, once again! Mike and his crew just completed painting our home and to say we're delighted is an understatement. I highly recommend RAKZ Painting and Home Services. If I could give ten stars, I would.
My initial contact with Mike was back in late February when he came by to assess the house. We walked around the house and he pointed out what he felt needed to be done, all of which I agreed to as they were way past their "need help" date. As it turned out, we were unable to move forward with the job at that time, yet Mike could not have been more pleasant. He stayed in touch every few weeks, simply checking in, no push, no hard sell.
Work started when he said it would and Mike spoke with me every day to explain what he would do that day and what the plan was for the next. The thoroughness with which Mike and his team washed the house, scraped, replaced shakes, repaired fascia, primed and painted the house carried throughout the job --- day one to completion. And they finished earlier than initially planned. Impressive.
Mike's team even power washed my patio, unasked, just because they had the power washer out. After a storm, they blew the leaves off the roof. Everything they had to leave for the next day was always neatly stacked and out of the way each night. And I do mean night. Mike and crew were here more than once after the sun was almost out, finishing small things, planning.
We've had a good amount of work done on our house and I can say without hesitation that Mike is one of two people I've had the genuine pleasure to work with. He is fair, he is attentive, his price is reasonable (more than reasonable based on some of the estimates I received), he is communicative, prompt, reliable and does what he says he will and more than he says he will do. And does it all well. I simply can't say enough good things about Mike Alves and RAKZ Painting and Home Services.
Getting a house painted is costly and therefore scary. Mike made it easy. Actually looking forward to working with Mike again.
