I had a mixed experience at Radiance Hair Salon. The salon itself was clean, welcoming, and pleasant, and the receptionist was friendly. Lola was also very kind and attentive in checking in on me, and the stylist who washed my hair and began the straightening process did a nice job. Temi did remove the split ends as I had requested, which I appreciated.
Unfortunately, my experience with Temi was disappointing. From the beginning, she came across as cold and unwelcoming, which I was willing to overlook, as everyone can have an off day. However, the main concern was that she burned my scalp with the flat iron more than four times and also burned my forehead, leaving a painful welt. Even after I instinctively pulled my head away in response to the heat, I was burned again. I found this particularly concerning and unprofessional, as I expect a stylist to exercise care and caution when using heated tools.
While I appreciated the kindness of the other staff members and the overall atmosphere of the salon, the burns significantly affected my experience. Unfortunately, based on my experience, I would not recommend booking with Temi. I hope the salon takes this feedback seriously, as client comfort and safety should always be a priority.

I discovered this salon through my sister and I've been coming for almost 2 years I think!
They offer a wide range of hair styles and very professional Black hair Professionals. I have gotten treatments done, my first weave, a maintenence weave wash, multiple silk presses, smedium senegalese twist braids (traditional not Knotless but they can do both),and it was done in under 4 hours.
I also get regular trims. They have an online booking portal that takes a deposit which I enjoy! I can plan my hair styles, book in advance and have a decreased total on the actual day!
I also know when I come in I won't be waiting a long time for my appointment.
They help with hair health and length retention and folks from different walks of life come here.
Their space is lovely and they continue to highlight their customers on socials *with permission) and best of all, they don't make use of AI human marketing! It's lovely to see them post about their team and what they do!
I 100% recommend this Salon. I am a mid level career professional in the arts and their prices are fairer than most places in Calgary especially as they wash and blow dry your hair so you don't need to do that work yourself! You are getting your money's worth.
As a Black women in Calgary Alberta, who has tried different salons and braiders since immigrating and Radiance is in my top list!

I got my hair done here and it was just over a grande in pricing. The results were INSANE 🤯 I have really short stubborn natural hair. And Hannah did a stellar job at blending in the 24” and 200grams. Also, the color match was perfection and done by hand! I could not reccomend this salon enough. I’ve been going here for the past year or two and every time the results speak for themselves. Also their coffee machine makes the best little espresso shots if you need a pick me up. Run, don’t walk if you’re thinking of getting extensions!

The original quote of $90 was for the installation, cutting, and styling of pre-made clip-in extensions. However, when you arrived, the hair you brought was wefted hair without clips attached, which required additional work before the installation could begin.
Our stylist spent over an hour carefully attaching clips to the wefts to convert them into wearable clip-in extensions. This service was not included in the original quote and required extra time, materials, and labor, which is why the final price differed.

Absolutely amazing experience! I am extremely happy with my hair and very grateful to the team at Radiance Hair Calgary. From the beginning, the service was professional, friendly, and done with great attention to detail.
I had my hair done right before stepping into a new role at work, and the result gave me such a boost of confidence. I was originally told the results would look their best for around three weeks, but almost two months later my hair still looked great!

If you are considering getting extensions, you need to come to the salon! I came for my first set of extensions 6 weeks ago and had them tightened today.
I had 100 questions that were all answered, the hair extensions I got were dyed to match my hair colour. The wonderful Hannah installed them for me and explained in detail how I can care for them. She is talented and a great time to chat with!
Now that I have had them for 6 weeks and am back to have them tightened I can confirm they are worth the money! The hair is great quality, I have had no issues with the extensions, they are comfortable and every time I walk out of the salon I have had a great time, I feel amazing and my hair looks incredible!!

I’ve been to Radiance three times now, and each time I’ve seen Hannah, who is fantastic, by the way. On my most recent visit, I wanted something different from the blonde that I had, and so I went for pink. We did a bleach root touch up on my black roots first to match it to the rest of my hair, then a pink toner/gloss. I was nervous at first, but now I’m absolutely loving my new peachy-pink shade! Granted, it wasn’t the exact shade I was hoping for, but sometimes you just don’t know how your hair will take on a new colour, but I don’t regret it one bit!! I’ve also received a bunch of compliments! I think pink might just be my new signature colour. Thanks Hannah and Radiance Beauty!
***UPDATE***
After 8 days, aside from my roots, whatever pink that was in my hair had completely faded out, leaving my hair a peachy blonde colour (see the second picture). I hadn’t washed my hair nor had my hair gotten wet during that time. Needless to say I was disappointed. I went back and got it dyed a darker pink to give it room to fade out into the light pink I originally wanted. The third picture is what it looks like 1 week after I got the colour fixed. Hannah noted the error she made the first time, listened to my concerns, and worked with me to get it right, which I really appreciated! I’m happy with the colour now.
The only reason I dropped my rating from 5 stars to 4 was because I ended up having to pay to get it fixed (about $100), on top of what I already paid at my initial appointment. A colour fading out after 8 days, with no shampooing or water involved, isn’t an aftercare error. It shows there was a mistake made during the initial colouring process, which I don’t believe the client should have to pay for. I was unhappy and disappointed with that part.

I was very excited to get a silk press since I had so many split ends.
The experience was okay.
What shocked me the most was the dry brushing at the beginning. I sat down and they immediately began brushing it dry, they didn’t even drench it in water or put a detangler. And that was genuinely scary♥️. I almost wanted to leave. The owner came and offered a water bottle to the stylist because she noticed I was uncomfortable. And I loved that she did that! But it helped very little.
When I do my own hair, I always start with drenching it in water, and I detangle WITH a detangler or prepoo in small sections, so that the comb can glide through the hair without pulling. Again, my hair had alot of split ends, so I understand it was difficult to comb through, but for a company that seems to promote healthy hair on their sites and social media, this was so disappointing. Even without split ends, I think it’s that sort of technique that leads some black women to label their hair as difficult and unmanageable, when in reality, it’s just the technique. Because of that, I wasn’t a fan. I genuinely thought this would’ve been a standard in salons catered to 4C or curly hair??
I think they were all very sweet and I’m thankful that my split ends were cut. The only way I’d go back is if the detangling is done under running water and a detangler or prepoo, like other salons do. I have 4C hair but I don’t even see people doing that for 3c hair, so I wasn’t a fan. I don’t think split ends are an excuse for the difficult brushing, cuz I do it myself and it never hurts like this.
The hair style itself however turned out lovely and silky! Very sweet ladies, and I loved how Hannah found moments to educate me on the hair throughout the process. Atmosphere and music was lovely, very calming and peaceful. Front desk was kind aswell. 🥰
