We had a fabulous stay at Rachel's Farm. We hired a few lodges for a special family reunion and had a wonderful, very happy weekend together. The interiors are beautifully designed and we were all made to feel very welcome. Thank you so much for having us all, we would love to visit again when we're next in Scotland
My family recently stayed at the City and Festive Villa properties in Duddingston. It was a wonderful experience, and I highly recommend Rachel's Farm. These two properties are in easy bus or Uber distance from all of the wonderful sights and activities of Edinburgh, while still being peaceful and quiet in a residential neighborhood. The bus stop for travel into central Edinburgh (a 20 min ride) is just down the street from the houses and buses run frequently all day. There are nearby conveniences like groceries (I recommend the Coop grocery a few blocks away) and there are some great attractions to walk or hike to nearby (including Arthur's Seat, Dr Neil's Garden and others). Communication with Rachel was easy and everything ran smoothly.
The manhattan loft-style apartment was amazing, there was 12 of us so a bit of a squeeze with rooms and a couple of camp beds but we made do for a weekend. The rest of the apartment was very luxurious and clean. The living and kitchen space was very big and everyone who came was very impressed. We had lots of fun in Edinburgh and the apartment was a part of that too!
Rachel's Farm is one of my favourite places in Scotland. I first discovered it on a New Year's yoga retreat, and loved it so much that I came back the following year. I decided to book a weekend away in The Cottage with my partner and it was the perfect stay for a romantic break from the city. Only an hour from Edinburgh, we were able to leave after work on Friday and enjoy the full weekend, immersed in the stunning surroundings and peaceful quiet. Check in was smooth, I was sent all information before hand and there is a lock-box to self-check in. The Cottage has everything you would need for a break away, the hot tub is fantastic, and was perfect for star gazing as there is no light pollution around there! We were able to cook food, enjoy the fireplace, read our books, and just generally relax. The freestanding bath in the bedroom is a special feature! We did a few walks including Bracklin Falls, Ben Aan, and Flanders Moss Reservoir, but there are many options, including Loch Ard circular route, Ben Venue, or Ben Ledi. A highlight was also going to Nick Nairn's cooking school, just 10 minutes drive away, for a spectacular Sunday Roast - what a treat! I think a weeks break here would be perfect as it's situated close to a lot of beauty spots in Scotland. All in all, it's 5 star accommodation, and I've struggled to find somewhere else in Scotland that rivals Rachel's Farm for quality, beauty, price, location, and friendliness of the proprietors. Hope to be back in the future!
Glorious location, we were blessed with cold crisp sunny days with stunning views of the mountains. Perfect for long walks with friends family and dogs. Our farmhouse was warm cosy and inviting with fully equipped kitchen (ninja blender very much appreciated) and unique attractive decor and fun beautiful art work. The garden hot tub experience was dreamy, a robin came close by to visit us. This is a perfect place to come for a close to nature yet luxurious retreat from the stresses of everyday life. Highly recommend!
What a fantastic place to stay! We had a great weekend stay in the Hayloft. A really luxurious place to stay, with special touches, and everything you need, not least a cosy hot tub. We traveled with 2 kids and a black Labrador, and there was plenty of space for everyone. Even though the weather was pretty grey and wet, we were able to enjoy dog walks, the hot tub, and chilling out in front of the wood burning stove, along with furiously competitive games of chess and cards. Highly recommend, would be a great retreat for a couple as well, with the huge master suite and freestanding bath. On another note, when we arrived the lodge and hot tub were both already at the perfect temperature, which made us feel very welcome.
We love Rachel’s Farm.
Beautiful location, stunning accommodation and great for events.
We have catered many different events here including private dining, BBQ’s, pizza, cocktail bars, breakfast hampers and more.
Every event is well organised, the facilities are ideal and the guests always have a great stay.
We can’t wait to be back again soon.
What a special beautiful place. Went for a yoga retreat with friends and fell in love with the place. A family run business with the most amazing family. Rachel, Andrew, Sasha and Layla were amazing hosts. We stayed in the cottage and it was stunning and comfortable. Twenty minutes outside Sterling was a great location.
Absolutely perfect every time!
Rachel’s Farm has become my go-to luxury staycation destination, and it never fails to impress. From the moment you arrive, you’re greeted by a stunning countryside setting that feels wonderfully peaceful and private, yet it’s amazingly convenient, being only around an hour from both Glasgow and Edinburgh.
The properties themselves are immaculate, with modern, stylish interiors that strike the perfect balance between luxury and comfort. Every detail feels thoughtfully considered, from the spacious, beautifully designed rooms to the little touches that make you feel instantly at home. The bubbling hot tub is a real highlight, the perfect spot to unwind.
I’ve booked stays here repeatedly for milestone events, and each time it’s been an outstanding experience. My clients are always blown away by the setting, the quality, and the sense of occasion that comes with being here. Rachel’s Farm has a way of making every visit feel special, which is why it remains my first choice for creating unforgettable memories.
I’ll continue to recommend and book Rachel’s Farm without hesitation, it’s truly a gem in the heart of Scotland.
We have actually had 2 incredible stays at Rachel’s Farm.
The attention to detail is beautiful and the rooms are all so welcoming. It feels like a home from home.
You have everything you could possibly need, and it’s a fantastic location if you want to explore the stunning Trossachs.
Highly recommend and we will definitely be back again!
I recently had the pleasure of spending several days on this retreat in the Scottish countryside, and the experience exceeded all expectations. The setting was tranquil and expansive, with wide open skies, gentle hills, and a quiet stillness that’s hard to find anywhere else. There were no distractions—just space to breathe, reflect, and fully unwind.
The accommodation was very comfortable, and impeccably maintained. Everything had a calming, intentional feel to it, from the soft lighting to the thoughtfully chosen decor. It was clear that every detail was designed to support rest and inner peace.
The facilitators held space beautifully, creating an environment that felt both safe and empowering. There was no pressure—just an open invitation to go as deep as you felt ready for.
The food was an absolute highlight. Every meal was wholesome, flavourful, and beautifully presented. It was clear that a lot of care went into the cooking, and sitting down to eat each day felt like part of the healing process.
What stood out most was the stillness of the place—something about the open landscape, the distant sound of wind across the hills, and the absence of city noise allowed for a level of rest I didn’t realize I needed. I left feeling lighter, clearer, and more connected to myself.
If you’re looking for a quiet, grounding experience in a truly beautiful part of Scotland, I can’t recommend this retreat highly enough. It’s the kind of place that stays with you long after you’ve left
I just got back from my hen weekend at Rachel’s farm this weekend and we had the most amazing time! We were split across two properties, both of which were absolutely stunning and so luxurious. The furnishings are top quality and you can tell a lot of time, thought and investment has gone into it.
We were a large group of 13 and managed to have the perfect weekend. Despite being on a hen and consuming lots of Prosecco, everyone left feeling so relaxed and refreshed after enjoying the hot tubs, walking in the amazing countryside and relaxing in the properties and sleeping in the comfiest beds. We were so lucky to get the best weather to enjoy the countryside and wildlife, including cows & pigs!
The location was perfect for my hen weekend, we had a cocktail masterclass, paint & sip and had a disco evening in the amazing kitchen/dining area in the Coach House. If you are looking for wholesome vibes while also still having the usual hen fun, this is the perfect place.
Since we booked the weekend, we have spoken to Rachel a few times and she was super helpful giving us ideas and contacts for different activities/dinner options.
We are super excited to come back again with our friends and families!
