Quirky cancelled the booking 2 weeks before holiday due to start Received an email from Quirky Campers 2 weeks before we were due to leave cancelling our booking. No explanation, no apology. They sent us details of 3 vehicles as an alternative. None of which fit our needs. All the sites are booked and paid for. Shame, was truly looking forward to it. At least it was just an adult couple going away with our dog. I would hate to imagine what it would be like for a family having to explain to children that their holiday is cancelled.

We hired Hampi from Ottery St Mary in Devon and took her to Dartmoor. We stayed in a field rented for the weekend through @wildwithconsent. We had a great time, like a mini home from home! Easy to drive, very well equipped, comfortable and cosy. We enjoyed coming back after a full day exploring to cook some dinner and sit in the back of the van with the doors open, enjoying the view!

We spent our first camping trip with my 3 year old daughter in Cyd and we had a wonderful time. Everything you could need for a comfortable stay but also the flexibility to explore and go off grid. Karen has done a lovely job in decorating the inside to be bright and cheerful. Check in was detailed, ensuring we were confident before driving off. Drop off time was also super flexible , which we appreciated. Overall we would highly recommend!

We hired Rue from Derby for a week (sat-sat) We had an absolute blast travelling the Highlands of Scotland. We were off grid the whole week, managing to find places to park up with magnificent views of mountains, forests or Lochs. Rue was a pleasure to call home for the week, such great amenities, so warm! and very comfortable. Cooked dinner and breakfast every day, and we managed to cram a week's worth of food (meat and veg) into the fridge, which has a small freezer compartment which is where we stored the meat. We chose to have the toilet as well which was a good call for being off grid. Was super easy to use and we found a place to empty the chemical waste, and full up the fresh water tank, for free! Will definitely use Rue again, as we want to do the trip again to different parts of the Highlands and some of the isles.

Great fun to coddwomple (look it up 😜) around the Highlands of northwest Scotland. Berty has a lot of home comforts - great cooking facilities - and although a long vehicle at just under 7m, we had no trouble finding places to camp overnight. Lots of inside space, great battery life very well appointed Great for your Scottish adventure!

We hired Spirit for five days (Mon - Fri). Emily reached out to us leading up to our trip and introduced herself, showed a lot of interest in us and what we had planned for the week. Emily and Lee both gave us recommendations and tips beforehand for new places to visit going off their own experience in the van. Picking up the van they were both very welcoming and a great couple. No wasting time, they let us pack the van and the showed us all of its quirky tips and tricks! This van has EVERYTHING you need! We played it safe and stuck to sites but the solar panels letting you go off grid is a great perk! The beds were so comfortable and we all had a great night sleep, heating in the van kept the temperatures perfect for us! Three gas hobs had us cooking breakfast and making the cuppas at the same time! This was our first holiday with an 14 month old and a German shepherd. And it’ll be a week we will never forget! We followed some of their recommendations and ended up crossing over to Isle of Mull and Isle of Iona. As comfortable as the van is, its drive is just as good! I can’t thank them both enough! And we will be hiring Spirit again! What an absolute Beuat!

Owners carry the risk while Quirky protects guests I do not recommend anyone to hire their vehicle on QC. I have listed campervans with Quirky Campers and my experience as an owner has been extremely stressful. The platform markets itself as supporting both guests and owners, but in reality when things go wrong the burden falls entirely on the owner. Over time I have dealt with multiple serious issues caused by guests, including: • Vans returned damaged • Toilets returned full and vans left in unacceptable condition • Fuel not paid for at petrol stations, resulting in debt collectors contacting me • Parking tickets and speeding fines issued in my name • Items lost, broken or taken from the vans • Guests disputing damage they clearly caused In nearly every case guests simply refuse to pay and the owner is left trying to recover costs while also dealing with insurance claims, garages, fines and administration. Every time this happened QC takes the side of the guest as they are worried about their reviews. The process is exhausting and owners are expected to carry a huge amount of risk despite Quirky taking high commission on every booking. After multiple incidents like this, I no longer feel that the platform adequately protects the people actually providing the vehicles. Prospective owners should be aware that when problems occur, the level of support may not match what is expected.

Had the most wonderful and cosy time with reggie. Fantastic handover everything explained but also written down in case you forgot. The owners give you their whats app and any issues however small they will help. The van is fully equipped and loved the solar panels. Most importantly it was really high quality family time playing uno, cards and cosying up. Will definitely do it again.

We booked Floyd last minute due to a breakdown of our campervan, and he did not disappoint! From the service received with Quirky Campers to Floyds Owners, everything was done so smoothly and efficiently. Floyd has all you need for an off-grid adventure, the battery system, heating and hot water made for a luxury we don't normally have, the bed was super comfy and spacious, and the van equipped with all the essentials for a great trip!

Perfect from start to finish! Thank you so much Lucan, Donna and Quirky Campers, for making the hire of Maureen (Doncaster) so simple and affordable. Lucan picked me up at the train station, gave me a simple run through everything and I was on my way. Not only was the layout perfect, Maureen was so easy to drive. I’ve been toying with the idea of a camper, but wasn’t sure about a longer wheel base (although I wanted the space) as I thought it would make it difficult to reverse and park etc, but the experience has shown me how easy a longer vehicle can be and definitely worth it for those extra feet. I’ve hired a motorhome before and didn’t really enjoy the experience as the excess was crazy and the owners put the fear of god in me, making me feel like I was hiring their pride and joy. Although Maureen is obviously much loved, Lucan was so relaxed about people hiring her and Quirky make the insurance process so easy and with option to reduce the excess to zero for a small charge. This was invaluable for me, meaning I could just relax and enjoy the experience. If I don’t find my ideal camper soon, I’ll be sure to call on Maureen again. Thank you!!

Fern the van is immaculate. She is beautifully designed and absolutely everything you need is on board. Rickie and Josh go above and beyond with the presentation of this van plus all the added extras. There is a shelf of brilliant travel books that point you in the right direction for amazing walks, pubs and sights, a welcome pack for me including drinks and nibbles and my dog, Ziki, had her own little selection of goodies plus a long line and tether for when we were parked up. We spent six days in Fern, visiting Wiltshire, Hampshire and Dorset. It was my first time driving a vehicle of this size - I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was and I definitely now want my own! Rickie and Josh have thought of everything in this van. I couldn’t fault the whole experience. A perfect snug little wooden chalet on wheels. We loved it! 🩷🐾

We were forced to make a last minute booking and the both the Team at Quirky Campers and the owners were really communicative and helpful. Thank you. We've hired a number of vans before. Here is our review of Solveig. "Perfect. Solveig is a robust van with absolutely everything we needed. She drove brilliantly - smooth and economical. The handover was great and Matt was thorough in explaining everything to us. We had lots of space, a really comfy bed, plenty of water - hot and cold, outside shower (she has both internal and external shower, but we opted for al fresco and use the inside for storage). The fridge was really efficient and kept everything cool. We had 6 nights fully off grid and didn't need hook-up at all and just needed to empty water once. Brilliant! Awning, super-comfy reclining outdoor chairs, table and loads of other accessories - fab. Oh, a final word on the lighting. Great internal lights. Magical. We really stood out in a field full of vans and she got a lot of attention - all good of course. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend. Perfect for exploring the South of England or beyond,with easy access into the continent. Thanks, Matt & Emma" - and everyone at Quirky Campers. See you next adventure!!
