Our visit to Quinta do Jalloto was such a memorable part of our trip. My husband and I booked a wine tour and tasting, and it ended up being one of our favorite experiences in the Douro Valley.
The setting alone is worth it — the property is absolutely beautiful with incredible views in every direction. It’s the kind of place where you just want to sit and take it all in.
The tasting itself was fantastic. We tried 3 of their wines and each one was delicious. We also received bread served with olive oil and honey from the farm - a simple but special touch that made the experience even more memorable.
Everything felt relaxed and really enjoyable from start to finish. Highly recommend stopping here if you’re exploring the region!
Phenomenal Views while sipping superb wine.
Only difficulty was getting to the vineyard. I tried to go up Route 322 in a mini Fiat 500 and almost made it to the winery, but sadly fell 50m short of the top of the hill. Had to abandon the car and walk up the rest of the way. Route 585 is DEFINITELY the way to go!!! Visited twice and will return when in Douro valley.

We loved our visit at this gorgeous winery! My fiance proposed at one of the stunning scenic spots and it was just perfect! The wine was delicious and the scenery was even better. We bought a bottle of the port home to celebrate with. Just a gorgeous engagement story and the family that runs the winery was so lovely on celebrating us! They helped with some beautiful photos and were so sweet. Highly recommend visiting!

We had high hopes for this winery after all the great reviews, but unfortunately, the visit didn’t live up to the hype. The place is not the easiest to get to with winding roads and some tricky navigation so it does take some effort.
The setting itself is beautiful, but when it came to the tasting, we were pretty underwhelmed. The wines were fine, but honestly, the experience felt like there was a lack of enthusiasm and that we were an inconvenience. There was not a lot of conversation about the wines, the winemaking process, or the history of the winery and we were the only ones there at the time! Considering how quiet it was we thought there might have been a little more effort made. It’s not a terrible spot by any means, but we expected a little more considering the reviews we had read.

Die Aussicht ist wirklich fantastisch und ideal für eine Weinprobe.
Das war es dann aber auch schon.
Die Weine sind akzeptabel, aber nicht überragend. Für meine 18 Euro bekomme ich 4x50ml Weine verschiedener Art und zu jedem Wein einen Satz um was es sich handelt. Mehr nicht. Keine Besichtigung des Weingutes oder des Kellers, keine Beratung, nichts. Insgesamt zu teuer. Für einen 10 Jahre alte Tawny Port 41 Euro zu verlangen und für 500ml Olivenöl 20 Euro zu berappen finde ich gewagt. Da bekommt man in der Region besseres geboten. Schade eigentlich, denn die Location ist wirklich malerisch.

Wonderful family owned Quinta. Small, quiet and quaint. Fabulous views, lovely deck overlooking the region, great food and wine. If you are not comfortable driving narrow roads with hairpin turns, this may not be for you however it’s these roads that allow you to get a little off the beaten path. Would absolutely return to this Quinta.
