100/10 cooking class experience in Oaxaca!!
Alfonso and Noemí are incredibly warm, welcoming, and knowledgeable about Oaxacan cuisine and culture. We learned how to prepare several traditional dishes from scratch, using fresh local ingredients and techniques. This was one of the highlights of our time in Oaxaca and an experience we would recommend to anyone visiting.

Lovely experience! Such a welcoming family with a perfect space for learning how to make some of the Oaxacan dishes you’ll likely have enjoyed in the city. You get to visit a market beforehand to pick up some last ingredients and then a short drive later you’re deep in the kitchen as if you’re part of their family too. Highly recommend coming by for this experience while in Oaxaca!

From start to finish, the class was exceptional. Our host and chef Alfonso, along with his son and the wonderful Noemi Betseida, made me feel completely at home — almost like a member of the family. Their warmth and hospitality were as rich as the food itself.
The class took us on a tour of the local market, where Noemi Betseida walked us through the ingredients with such passion and knowledge. Learning about the local produce and spices before cooking with them made the whole experience come alive.
And the mole? Absolutely the best I’ve ever tasted. Every dish we prepared was bursting with authentic Oaxacan flavor.
If you’re visiting Oaxaca, this cooking class is an absolute must. Thank you, Chef Alfonso, and the entire team — you made this a memory I will cherish forever.
