We’ve been to quercus a number of times. The food is usually excellent.
Today I had the first poor dish. Crab cakes which tasted of salt. Such a shame.
However, the previous time you served the best breakfast I’ve ever had (and I’m incredibly fussy!!).
Please review the crab cake recipe and all is good

Definitely a place to be enjoyed
What a lovely relaxed meal we had. Good unpretentious food in a relaxed atmosphere. And a chef that can really cook. First time in a long time I've eaten somewhere where ALL the veg was cooked to perfection. That's often what can let a meal down. Highly recommend
Fantastic food as always. Thumbs up for the summer sunday lunch menu. Roast lamb was fabulous, snd service with a smile.

Thanks, Linda! So glad you enjoyed the summer Sunday lunch menu and the roast lamb! We'll pass your compliments to the team. Hope to see you again soon!
Went there for Father's day breakfast this morning:
Positives were friendly staff, nice atmosphere and good, quick service.
Negatives - some of our party ordered the "Scottish" breakfast. While the sausage, black pudding, eggs etc were all fine (although the poached eggs could have done with a few extra minutes as the whites were still clear on the inside), the breakfast was missing the listed tattie scones. When we asked where the were, the waitress had to go and ask in the kitchen. The promised scones arrived just as we were finished eating and to our amusement and horror they were actual, raised scones like the ones you get with jam and cream only missing the sugar and clearly microwaved warm - presumably some form of potato went into them but they were like chewing rubbers.
Tattie scones are flat (usually triangular in shape) and around the thickness of pancakes. They're made from mashed potato, butter and flour and then fried and served with your sausage and bacon.
God knows what Quercus served us, but tattie scones it certainly wasn't.
Luxury spot in Wootton Bassett
Luxury high street restaurant in Wootton Bassett. Great for lunch or just a cup of coffee (my espresso was a little too strong for my taste, but it was nicely served with cantuccini). Definitely worth a visit. It’s a lovely spot for a first date, a family lunch, or simply treating yourself to a tea or coffee as an alternative to Costa Coffee. The place is quiet and has a posh, relaxed atmosphere. If you’re not from Wootton Bassett, I recommend leaving your car in the Sainsbury’s car park and walking to the bistro, as parking on the High Street isn’t very convenient.
Fabulous restaurant/cafe/wine bar. Go every weekend!!! Staff are fabulous

Thank you, Susie! We're so happy to hear you enjoy visiting us each weekend. Your support means a lot and we’ll make sure the staff knows how much you appreciate them. Looking forward to seeing you again soon!
The food was okay overall. I ordered the lamb, which had good flavour. However, it was a little undercooked for my personal preference, and when I asked if it could be cooked a bit longer, I was told that it was prepared as intended.
The meal came with just one potato and a large serving of vegetables. While the lamb itself was tasty, the potato was very dry. The wait for the food was also longer than expected, and I felt the prices were quite high considering the overall experience.
A very disappointing experience all round on a Saturday evening.
Brushing off all the crumbs on my chair before I could sit down was not the best first impression.
The menu was a bit dull and the dishes that arrived were bland and didn’t reflect the high price. The chilli garlic prawns were flavourless and lacked any buttery juices to dip the bread in.
The vegan gnocchi were tasteless, mushy and greasy and I couldn’t finish them. I was being treated to this meal so didn’t feel I could send it back.
The other mains on our table were also bland and mostly mashed potato.
Service was very poor, possibly not helped by a large function going on out the back. One table got up and left. Another party were clearly unhappy and this led to a tense atmosphere.
Service was included on the bill and had I been the one paying I would have asked for it to be removed.
