Janni and Korbyn - you guys are the best hosts! From start to finish, you made me feel so welcome and nothing was ever too much for you both. You had clearly put a lot of effort into the itinerary and nothing was ever too much trouble. You could tell you genuinely cared about every member of the group and the community in general. Thank you so much, I can’t wait to go on another trip with you guys! If anybody is thinking about booking, please just do it. You won’t regret it, I have made so many friends that I already feel like I’ve known a long time and can’t wait to see again.

What an amazing baptism into group travel! I went into this trip not really knowing what to expect, but from the moment I arrived in Porto I felt completely welcomed, included and at ease. The whole trip was so thoughtfully curated. There was such a brilliant mix of activities, experiences, incredible food and downtime, and I especially loved how much thought had gone into supporting local businesses and showcasing the very best of Porto. Nothing felt generic or touristy for the sake of it — everything felt carefully chosen and genuinely added something to the experience. But what really made the trip was the people and the atmosphere you created. The whole thing was an absolute vibe! I came away having had experiences I probably wouldn't have had travelling alone, with a group of people who started as strangers and very quickly felt like friends. You can see just how much hard work goes on behind the scenes to make these trips feel effortless for everyone else. You both put so much energy, care and thought into making sure people feel welcome and have the best possible time, and it really shows. For my first ever group trip, you’ve set the bar ridiculously high! 😂 I arrived nervous and not knowing anyone and left with amazing memories, new friends and a massive smile on my face. Honestly, 10/10. Porto, you were unreal. Group travel… consider me converted! ❤️

I am not typically a group travel kind of person, so I was nervous about this trip but it turned out being the absolute best decision. I was really won over by the detailed itinerary and the care with which the trip was created. I also loved that the group was small and intimate. The trip did not disappoint. There were no cheesy ice breaker type games, nothing cringy or manufactured. The group was really authentic, and this allowed us to make real connections and enjoy each others company. I don't drink or party, so I was nervous for that reason too. I did not want to be on a trip with a bunch of people who were drunk or hungover the whole time. This didn't end up being a problem for me at all. Some people did drink, but partying was not what the trip was about. It was full of really authentic experiences with Janni and Korbyn's Thai friends. Experiences I never would have had taking this trip on my own, or with any other tour company. Janni and Korbyn were so thoughtful in their planning of the itinerary. Every day was well-planned, and they are foodies so the food experiences were amazing!! As an introvert, I ended the trip with the very odd feeling that I got home and missed the house full of new friends. I missed the community that Janni and Korbyn created in such a short time. This trip is for you if you want authenticity, real experiences, ethical travel and adventures. It will push you out of your comfort zone in the best ways.

I said yes to a trip where I only knew one person and hadn’t seen them in almost a decade. I went on faith, hoping for a good time… and ended up having one of the greatest weeks of my life. Every detail was thoughtfully planned by our incredible hosts. Beautiful accommodations, breakfast made for us each morning, transportation everywhere we went, and a perfect balance of adventure, rest, spirituality, and connection. What started as a group of strangers became a family. What made it unforgettable wasn’t just the temples, tea tasting, markets, or even celebrating Loy Krathong on a private beach next to the river, it was the way this trip helped me reconnect with my wife, deepen our bond, and create memories we’ll carry forever. We cooked Thai dishes together, made our own Krathongs, shared spiritual moments with elephants, laughed at drag shows, relaxed with yoga and massages, explored local markets, and ended nights with incredible meals and unexpected magic like fire dancers and live music. All the logistics were handled, our only job was to be present, explore, and say yes to connection. If you’ve ever dreamed of traveling but worried about the details… this is the kind of experience that removes all the guesswork and lets you simply enjoy, reconnect, and create moments that stay with you long after the trip is over. What a trip. What a group. What a gift.

To say I had fun on this retreat would be an understatement. My experience with Queer Connect was honestly life changing. It felt like a once-in-a-lifetime trip that sparked a lifetime of memories. I made connections I’ll carry forever with a group of people I couldn’t have asked for better company. The mix of folks on this trip was beautiful, and the energy was perfect. Everything was planned out so well. We ate constantly, and the food was incredible. This wasn’t like other “queer” vacations that feel all party vibes and hookup-focused. Don’t get me wrong. These people know how to party and absolutely throw down, but the heart of it all was genuine connection. Our hosts couldn’t have been more gracious or more fun. They were part of the group and part all of the fun in the best way. The itinerary was packed with amazing experiences and really showed us what Chiang Mai has to offer. We had plenty of free time to explore on our own too. I could go into every detail like the very ethical elephant experience, the breathtaking Buddhist temples, making our own krathongs for the lantern festival, the tea tasting workshop, the Thai cooking class, the most over-the-top ladyboy show on the planet, and of course the nonstop FOOD FOOD FOOD. But honestly the most amazing part was the connections that were made. I’m also a total travel baby. I’ve only recently started traveling outside the US, so having a group of people from all over the world come together and build real bonds meant everything to me. We’re already looking into the next adventure with Queer Connect. The experience was absolutely priceless.

This will be a week that we will talk about for many years to come. Finding an LGBT travel group expereince is a crap shoot. You know what I mean... I can't even begin to tell you how glad we are that we were a part of this expereince. We have new life long friends and memories that have surpassed any curated group vacations I've been on. It wasn't a tour. It was a retreat... Luxury, connection, indulgence, laughter, and friendship, with a heavy sprinkling of magic! Food? Did I say food? Not only was it available... it was abundant abd DELICIOUS! The fact that this wasn't branded as a culinary tour was surprising. That private 5 course farewell dinner (cooked buy an amazing chef) has made it to my top 5 lifetime dining expereinces. Knocked it out of the park! Loy Krathong is a massive event in Chiang Mai. Over 300,000 people were due to be celebrating in the city... and yet you managed to make it feel like the entire festival was held in our honor, with one of the most intimate, sentimental and beautiful nights I have had in years. I could list every moment in detail, but that would ruin the adventure for others. In 4 decades of traveling on this planet, I have never participated in a group trip of this quality. They didn't miss a single detail and thought of a hundred things that I never would have thought of, that elevated the experience even further. We experienced art, culture, amazing food, fantstic massage, powerful elephants, unforgettable experiences and solidified relationships that we will have for the rest of our lives. It’s not a scam!! I stumbled upon Queer Connection Travel via Chat GPT! I was looking for a travel group that was LGBTQ+ friendly, filled with adventurers and kind people. This trip to Thailand exceeded all of my expectations! From the smallest gestures to the most important ones, Janni and Korbyn did not disappoint! Everything was taken care of and they made the entire group feel safe and comfortable. Our villa was gorgeous and always kept clean by the staff. All the activities that were planned were great and so much fun! From night markets to drag shows and massages. This trip had a well balanced schedule, not too fast so we could enjoy each day and there was always plenty of food!! Thank you so much Janni and Korbyn, you both have created such a beautiful thing and I can’t wait to book my next trip with Queer Connect Travel!!

I don’t even know if “life-changing” feels big enough for what this retreat gave me. Queer Connect Travel’s first trip to Chiang Mai didn’t just exceed every expectation. It renewed my soul, my relationship, and the path I’m choosing for my life. From the moment we arrived, Korbyn and Janni created a space that was warm, intentional, and deeply inclusive. Their care showed up in every detail; the beautiful accommodations, the perfectly balanced itinerary, the ease of travel, the gentle rhythm of each day, and the way they curated moments for both connection and rest. It felt effortless to just be. But what truly set this retreat apart was their hearts.
