First Call in Clarksville does a very nice job. Team up front was quick, friendly and got me checked in effectively. There were a couple people in the office but I went back relatively rapidly without an appointment. Nurse practitioner and Doctor were both friendly and professional. Quick diagnosis, answer questions and put a plan in place. Highly recommend
All the positive reviews... was not my experience at all. With only 1 other patient there, it still took over 1.5 hrs to emerge from a very simple test, and that was only when I stuck my head out the room to ask whether the test was done. All three NPs were on the phone. Within 4 minutes, someone came in the room.
Later, when I had a severe allergic reaction to the med prescribed, they refused to swap in another until a 3-day test came in, leaving me in great discomfort and little sleep for 3 days. Upon MY CALLING THEM in the morning to get the results (which were in), they said it it would be prescribed by that night, which was a totally uncaring answer since it would take all of 5 minutes to call it in!
Though they seem nice, their caring of me was very lacking. They need to review their policies, since everyone I talked to, and my own past experience is to get the antibiotic and discontinue if the results are negative. When they know I have an infection, it is inexcusable to take many hours just to call in the med.
I had all the signs of a UTI and needed treatment ASAP. My GP doesn't have on site labs, so having him see me would not provide a speedy resolution. I chose to go to FirstCall Medical Center in Clarksville, MD, where they (1) gave me a checkup, (2) tested my urine ... did show I had a UTI ... (3) did a blood workup ... showed an elevated white cell count ... (4) got me started on an antibiotic. Need to follow-up with them in three days to check my white cell count. I want to say thanks to the front desk staff, Josh Phelps M.A., and Rose Long P.A. for their compassion and professionalism.
