What a great relief for me and my siblings to have had Qualicare provide home support services for our elderly mother for the last five months. Michele was everything we needed in a caregiver - she was compassionate, patient, dependable and positive. She was an excellent companion for my mother. Michele often went the extra mile such as staying late to finish an unexpected task that needed completing or baking fresh muffins!
The communication with Janelle was excellent from start to finish. One example is the prompt notification if there was an emergent concern about my mother’s health. Qualicare clearly cared about my mother’s wellbeing.

Qualicare helped with the transition between hospital and home for my 95 yr. old mother who had been treated for pneumonia. They responded very quickly to my request for in-home care. Scheduling was challenging due to my rural location but they bent over backwards to try to meet our needs. They are truly a wonderful group of kind and caring people. They live up to their name, quality of care and client well-being come before profit. I was very impressed with their professionalism and dedication. The caregivers are treated with respect and valued which is reflected in the quality of care. I thought their fees were very reasonable as well, no hidden fees or extras for such things as weekends and holidays. A top notch, well run company. Thank you Qualicare!

About 2 months ago we were inquiring to a couple different companies to help with some part time care for my mother in law. Qualicare took the time to come talk and find out what they could help with and were very supportive with what our needs were! The care staff that has come to help my mother in law are very helpful, kind, supportive and they let my mother in law be independent but also are very respectful and responsive when she needs help too.

I cannot recommend Qualicare Home Care South Island enough. The care provided by this company was nothing short of exceptional. Their professionalism, kindness, compassion, and caring attitude made a difficult situation much more manageable for our family.
We had been searching for a suitable home care solution for a loved one dealing with both diabetes and cancer. The challenges presented by their complex health needs were acknowledged by Qualicare, yet they still chose to step in and provide much-needed care. This willingness to take on a difficult case despite previous denials from other services speaks volumes about their commitment to helping those in need.
Our loved one was initially hesitant to trust someone new coming into their home to assist them. However, the compassionate approach of the Qualicare team quickly helped to build that trust. The nurses and caregivers were not only attentive to the individual's medical needs but also took the time to provide thoughtful recommendations for comfort and safety within the home environment. Their adaptability and dedication to personalized care made a significant difference in our family member's quality of life.
While everyone from the team that I engaged with was incredibly helpful from the onboarding process and the home care staff, I have to recognize Jamie who was there for him and handled one of the most difficult and disturbing situations that happened to our family member that Jamie had to witness and handle with physical and mental grace. This truly can be such a difficult job at times and we often times don't recognize that enough. VIHA's involvement in the matter was absolutely disgraceful and we are so happy we proceeded with private home care.
It's clear that the team at Qualicare South Island truly cares about their work and the people they serve. Their hearts are undoubtedly in the right place. We are incredibly grateful for the support they provided our family during such a challenging time.
