I cannot recommend Wingman Med highly enough.
Keith was instrumental in helping me navigate a very complex FAA medical certification process. After encountering significant medical certification hurdles and needing documentation from multiple specialists, I was unsure of my chances of obtaining a First Class Medical. Keith was knowledgeable, responsive, and incredibly thorough. He helped me understand exactly what the FAA needed and developed a clear path forward.
Most importantly, Keith helped me successfully obtain my FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
Throughout the process, he was professional and honest, giving me confidence during what could have been a very stressful experience. If you are a pilot facing a complicated medical certification issue, I highly recommend Wingman Med. The investment was absolutely worth it.
Thank you, Keith and the entire Wingman Med team!
Had a wonderful experience utilizing Wingman Med! I had the pleasure of working with Ray Portier. He is an exceptional professional who is not only thorough and knowledgable, but also took ample time to explain everything that went into the process. I cannot recommend this company enough.
As an active-duty military member preparing for retirement, I believed Wingman Med would guide me through the process “from beginning to end” as advertised. Unfortunately, that was not my experience.
It became clear that active-duty military members are not really their business model, especially when it comes to the Separation Health Physical Examination (SHPE) process. After paying thousands of dollars and providing extensive medical records, I expected meaningful assistance with my SHPE paperwork, retirement medical preparation, and aviation-related guidance.
Instead, what I thought was a draft SHPE recommendation turned out to be far less helpful than expected, and there was essentially no hands-on support with the actual SHPE process. None of the paperwork I received ended up being useful for my situation. I was expecting something closer to a knowledgeable VSO-style resource with aviation medical expertise to help navigate both the VA and FAA concerns together. That was a major reason I hired them, and I did not receive that level of support.
Despite multiple engagements and conversations, I was never fully informed about the limitations of their services. In the end, no refund whatsoever was offered, despite my dissatisfaction and the lack of meaningful assistance. I was left with a depleted bank account and still had to do much of the work myself that I believed I was paying Wingman Med to help manage.
This service may work better for other types of clients, but active-duty members approaching retirement — especially military aviators — should fully understand what services are and are not actually being provided before committing significant money.

We’re disappointed to hear that your experience did not match your expectations.
Wingman Med's VA service was created specifically to help military aviators and pilots navigate VA disability claims while protecting FAA medical certification — a niche area where our physician team and founders have direct lived experience as former military aviators ourselves. All of our VA clients are active-duty or veteran service members, and our process has helped many pilots achieve strong VA outcomes while maintaining FAA eligibility.
That said, the service you purchased is focused on the fully developed VA claim process and aviation-focused medical strategy. We are not a VSO, and we do not provide hands-on SHPE administration or act as representatives inside the military separation system. Those distinctions, along with service scope and deliverables, are outlined during onboarding and in our intake materials.
Regarding the SHPE specifically, there are many misconceptions in military communities about its importance to long-term VA outcomes. While the SHPE can be useful in some cases, it is not a major determining factor in the fully developed claim strategy our physicians build for clients.
We understand that expectations can differ, especially during a stressful transition out of military service. We sincerely wish you the best in both your VA claim process and your post-military aviation career.

I highly recommend Wingman Med. I had 3 potential health issues going into my medical exam this March. I worked with Dr. Roxo through the whole process and I couldn't be more pleased with his expertise and most importantly to me was how responsive he was. He laid out exactly what doctor visits I needed to schedule as well as a step-by-step process for all of my doctors to fill out to make sure I had everything I needed for my AME come time for my flight physical. I got my first class medical with no issues and my AME thanked me for bringing in all of the correct paperwork. I recommend that anyone and everyone who thinks they have some health issue going on, to go get it checked out for your health, but include Wingman Med into your health plans to make sure you have everything required to present to your AME. Thank you again Wingman Med you will be my first call moving forward if anything health issues come up along the way. Five stars.
Really kind folks. I was able to get all my pertinent questions answered quickly in their 15 min free consult. Easy to schedule and helped me navigate all my questions quickly. I reached out through their online form and Jacqui got back to me within 24 hr. What helped was preparing all my questions ahead of time and emailing them to Jacqui ahead of my appointment. I was not expecting it but Dr. Roxo had taken the time to review them before my appointment and that speaks to the high level of care and professionalism. 10/10 recommend, to at least know what you're dealing with ahead of the AME exam and what your next steps should be.
Unfortunately they were not able to help me, but I'm giving 5 stars because 1. they responded to my emails almost immediately 2. they were upfront and honest about the limitations of their services and not wanting me to spend extra money 3. they still provided valuable info and links to help me continue the AME process
This office is not helpful. I have been trying to get an appointment for weeks now. I was told to wait until March 1st for April appointment availability, but when I checked the calendar on March 1st there were no appointments for April. If the office only allows appointment to be booked on line; how are the all the April appointment availability gone on March 1st. This just does not meet the smell test of making appointments available to patients. There appears to be back door dealings here…

Are you sure you are talking about the right business? Our schedule has phone consultations available today and every day this week. We still have FAA exam time available this week as well as several other days this month. Who have you been communicating with?
I’d like to give a huge thanks to WingmanMed for helping me through this process. They worked with me through an initial denial to ensure I had the help needed! They were thorough, professional, and always ready to help when needed. I’d highly recommend them in order to help you manage your medical issues in the future
The staff at Wingman Med are truly exceptional. They are incredibly knowledgeable, professional and personable and are true experts in navigating the VA and FAA medical processes. As a former military member, they guided me through the entire process with ease, and went over and above to assist with any questions or issues that arose. My family and I are incredibly grateful for them and cannot recommend them highly enough!
Wingman Med was outstanding from start to finish! Their knowledgable staff helped me navigate my VA claim while transitioning to the airlines. They were professional, responsive, and incredibly detail-oriented. The process can be overwhelming, but they made it clear, organized, and stress-free. I’m thankful for their help and would absolutely recommend them to other veterans who have a class 1 medical certificate. Well worth the investment into your future!
Wingman Med far exceeded my expectations. Transitioning from a military flying career to beginning a career with the airlines and handling the VA process I would not have known where to start. The Wingman Med team was there to skillfully guide me through the process and assist me in getting everything in order. The service quickly paid for itself and I have no threats to my FAA medical. If you are on the fence of whether or not to use their service, I can assure you that it is money well spent.
Highly recommend Wingman Med! Without them, I'm not sure I would have ever received my FAA First Class medical. From the initial consult to the final document review, Dr. Roxo and the staff were always quick to communicate. I had two significant medical issues that needed addressing and the Action Plan clearly outlined what I needed to gather. They made a complex and overwhelming process manageable. Their expertise, professionalism, communication, and attentiveness were second to none. Hopefully I don't have to use their services again but I would not hesitate to do so if needed.
Wingman Med were incredible to work with! They were professional, easy to work with, and very knowledgable. Questions were answered quickly and expertly, and they navigated me through the process much more quickly than I would have made it through on my own. Would (and have) recommended them to any pilots looking to work through the VA and FAA processes!
Very unprofessional initial interaction with the doctor after setting up my phone consultation and waiting a week to speak with an AME. The doctor seemed surprised that I was calling (after assuming that he would be calling me) and then displayed unprofessional phone etiquette immediately during the call. I will not be recommending this company's services to my veteran friends who are looking for VA disability counseling or help with AME needs.
Response to the owner:
To start, I would not sound surprised when you answer the phone call of a potential client, especially for a pre-arranged consultation. Don't forget that those seeking help are your prospective customers and that you're in the service industry. If someone schedules a consult for help with a VA disability claim, it makes sense to me that the responding expert (you) would be prepared to showcase the services you provide in an attempt to gain a customer. I called my local DAV after this interaction and received much better service, FOR FREE.

We’re sorry to hear that your experience didn’t meet your expectations. We pride ourselves on our professional, respectful interactions with every potential client - veteran or not.
However, we do want to clarify a few important details for accuracy. Our appointment confirmation email clearly states that clients are to call the physician at the scheduled time. We weren't surprised. We answered your call on time and were ready to discuss any concerns you had.
When we asked how we could help you, you seemed offended that we didn’t already know, made a flippant comment, and hung up without answering further.
We’re not sure how else we could have handled the situation, but we wish you the best in the future.

I had a few questions about a medical procedure and it was super easy to make an appointment with Wingman Med via their online portal for free consult. The AME was easy to talk to and knowledgeable able to answer my questions and make me feel more confident in completing my medical procedure and in my case retaining my pilot license. Thanks !
