Where to begin! Simon was incredible from start to finish—I truly cannot recommend him enough.
When we moved in, our apartment was drenched in gray. We wanted to brighten it up with white throughout, but our trim was cracked and yellowed, the walls were scuffed, and there was wear of many, many years of tenants everywhere. Knowing how tricky it is to paint light over dark, I wanted to make sure we worked with someone excellent.
I had first hired another highly recommended painter, but the experience was disappointing: streaky application, paint splatters on the floor, texture on all the moldings, and slow progress with no opportunities to check in until it was too late.
A couple of months later, I reached out to Simon. From the very first walkthrough, he was incredibly detailed—pointing out everything the previous painters had done incorrectly and explaining how he would fix it. He followed up with a thorough proposal that broke down exactly where every dollar was going.
Simon and Peter showed up on time every day. They prepped our apartment meticulously, carefully moving and covering furniture, sanding and patching every surface. Because I wanted a smooth finish on the trim, Simon sprayed everything—including the hundreds of spindles on our staircase—and the result is flawless. When it came time for the walls, they started with the smallest room so I could see the color in action. I ended up changing my mind, and Simon was so patient in helping me find the right shade.
The final result is nothing short of transformative. It feels like a brand new apartment. Simon and his team were fast, professional, detail-oriented, and genuinely kind. My partner and I even joked that we’ll miss having them around!

I contacted Pro Painting based on reading through positive reviews on various sites; my experience with PP was superb & thus I am happy to add to the company’s many enthusiastic reviews.
I dealt with Simon, who is mentioned in many reviews: he is great—professional, knowledgeable & personable. Here are highlights:
PP was able to get my paint job of several interior rooms done in a short timeframe—even working weekends to ensure the job was done on time (Simon actually completed it ahead of schedule).
Simon thoroughly prepped my walls & was able to conceal imperfections in old horsehair plaster. All floors, edges and other surfaces not being painted were expertly protected.
While Simon noted that he (judiciously) abstains from expressing views on client selected colors, he did offer helpful pointers on what works on different walls and different spaces (e.g., he suggested that my small galley kitchen & adjoining dining room might work best in one color even though the kitchen is not fully “open” to the dining room—I took his suggestion & now don’t know why I would have considered doing otherwise!).
Now the most important part: my walls all came out absolutely beautiful. It was clearly a “professional” paint job that was performed: clean edges, perfect coverage, a fresh, “clean” look. After I saw the first room, I knew I had made the right choice in hiring PP; nevertheless Simon continued to offer to send pictures throughout the project & conducted a final “walk through” with me.
Simon cleaned all painted spaces thoroughly after completing painting, removing all tape, supplies, etc. and sweeping and vacuuming.
In my opinion, prices were more than reasonable for the level of service and professionalism offered by Pro Painting. Simon was a pleasure to work with and I would highly recommend Pro Painting to anyone.

We have hired Pro Painting for four different projects and they have always been the absolute best to work with. This time around, they painted four rooms for us. They were able to start less than a week from when we reached out to them, and said it would take two to four days to complete. They started at 8AM on Monday and all four rooms were complete by 4PM on Tuesday. Their work is meticulous - never rushed. Excellent attention to detail. They repaired holes & cracks, and their paint job was, as ever, magnificent. The color for our living room (with vaulted ceilings) was a very dark teal and they did three coats to be sure it was perfect - and still finished in two days. They are incredibly responsive and an absolute pleasure to work with, and their prices are extremely reasonable. Absolutely ideal experience - if they hadn't already painted pretty much every room in my house, I would hire them again!
