Siamo contentissimi di aver passato un weekend in questa struttura, in occasione di un matrimonio tenutosi nella romantica Verona. Cortesia e gentilezza del personale, che non sono assolutamente scontati, rendono questo posto ancora più bello. Un’atmosfera di pace e silenzio dove mente corpo possono riposarsi. La stanza molto bella e il letto super comodo. Colazione ricca di scelta e di ottima qualità. Profumo di fiori che si diffonde nell’aria, prato curato perfettamente. Consiglio davvero di cuore e ringrazio per l’esperienza.
We had such a beautiful stay at this hotel in Verona. The property itself is absolutely gorgeous—set in the countryside with stunning views and such a peaceful atmosphere—but still close enough to the city, which made it the perfect balance. We loved that it’s actually possible to walk to a few nearby spots, which was such an added bonus while still feeling like you’re fully immersed in the countryside.
The hospitality was truly wonderful. We are still dreaming about the breakfast! Everyone was so welcoming and made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. It really added to the overall experience and made our stay that much more special.
I came here with my boyfriend for a few-night getaway, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. We left feeling relaxed, happy, and already talking about coming back. We would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone considering a stay in Verona!
We chose Villa dei Gelsi quite spontaneously for an extended weekend trip with the family and had an outstanding experience. Wonderful, tranquil property overlooking the city. Beautiful rooms. The pool and spa area (both inside and outside) are elegant and well maintained. Breakfast was excellent. Perhaps the most memorable aspect, however, was the personalized service and family-friendly atmosphere. We definitely hope to be back!

A spa relais in the hills above Verona
Because of its high-tourist quotient and smaller downtown, hotels in Verona Centro are very expensive, and the city center extremely difficult to navigate by car (even the locals say this.) Hence I wanted someplace outside the Centro to use as a base. Villa dei Gelsi seemed to fit the bill. In the hills outside Verona, it's billed as a “Luxury Relais”, and had prices to match. If you're looking for a place to relax, and want a spa feel, this might well be the place for you. It isn't an enormous property, but has some nice amenities for those wanting some time away from the hubbub of a tourist town. And, for those who like hiking, you can also walk into town...about a mile into Verona centro (we did this once. We also walked farther up into the hills for a dinner at a nearby Agriturismo) . The proprietress (and her chef and team members) were very engaging and eager to help. Very nice breakfast spread, and a friendly dog. The relais is very private and lies behind walls and a gate. It has some limited parking on the property, but also some outside the walls; all first come first served. I will say our one disappointment was our room, which that for all its luxury relais representation--and the price--was small and somewhat rundown.
Chiamo mentre stavo per prenotare in Booking una stanza (suite presidenziale) per dire che sarei andato con nostro figlio di 1 anno che dorme in mezzo a noi e mi si dice che la stanza non può ospitare bambini, che l hotel é al completo per i bambini . Non essendo un hotel adults only sono rimasto di ghiaccio, veramente inverosimile. Propribito ai bambini e hotel per friendly. Stategliene alla larga se amate il futuro del pianeta.

I want to live at the Villa dei Gelsi, LOL. It's such a lovely and special place above the noise and bustle of the historic city center. Breakfast is fantastic, all made in-house with their charming cook right there in the open kitchen. You can enjoy it either inside in the open kitchen/breakfast room or outside in the garden near the pool. Definitely a place to linger. The grounds have the most charming outdoor area. Very quiet, plenty of places to lounge, a pool. Not overdone at all...just right. They also have an indoor pool, jacuzzi and sauna. The sauna is perfect, the indoor pool and jacuzzi are on the chilly side. The walk into town took us 20 minutes on a (mostly) charming pedestrian walkway. The hotel provides two taxi ride per day, so if someone didn't want to or couldn't do the walk, it's no problem. We only used the taxi twice...to come back up and it was very easy. The women who work and manage the property were all very friendly and helpful. Very charming rooms with extremely comfortable bed! This would be the perfect property to relax and unwind in the middle of a hectic travel schedule or just a place to go and enjoy on it's own for a few days. Bonus: big, family dog on the property :) Loved this property!

Felt a bit of a dilemma in writing this review since I would love to keep this place a secret but then that would be selfish ,Verona is absolutely gorgeous. The surrounding countryside is unspoiled, beautiful clean, amazing views and this spa hotel is by far one of the best places I’ve ever stayed , rooms are gorgeous. The beds are very, very comfortable. Very peaceful., I loved having green juice from the organic garden 🪴 the swimming pools are wonderful, the spa and all the staff and owners were so warm and genuinely welcoming i stayed in May 2025
